I had a feeling as if the person who was helping me couldn’t wait till I leave. So I did. I will try another store, hopefully they will be more welcoming.
UPDATE: I was back today and had an exceptional service! The guys went above and beyond with my situation and were very nice and helpful.
The guy from yesterday wasn’t there.

In the last 4 years since moving to Bay Park, I discovered this local paint store, and it has quickly become my go-to for all my painting needs. The quality of their paints and stains is exceptional, and the staff is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful.
I used to rely solely on Home Depot, but this neighborhood gem in the Bay Park area offers a more convenient option without compromising on quality. Their products can be found throughout my home—both inside and out—and their stains have done wonders in protecting and beautifying my fences. My trusted house painter exclusively uses their supplies, and I can now understand why. Highly recommended!

Was looking for advice/recommendations and the person manning the store was very unhelpful, couldn’t advise on anything.
Recommend going to the store in Clairemont instead, the person there was great.

Been getting paint here for a few years, and the service I’ve received has been fine - some days it’s been good, some days not as good. But I came in today and there was a Friday afternoon rush. Nathan Ainza was the only person on duty, and he could not have been more helpful. Hustling around the store, good attitude, making sure elderly customers could carry their purchases to the car. Just top notch service from Nathan. Give that guy a promotion and a big raise!

Since John left this store has only gone down hill. First off, we ordered a sample out of their catalogue. Tested it, got it approved with our client, but then when we went to order more they were out of the base, we went to another Sherwin Williams and the amazing person working there clued us into the fact that they had not actually mixed the color we had selected originally from their swatches, it was a custom color the guy basically invented for no reason that required lots of different tinting, so much so that when sized into a gallon the entire mix would not fit, their machine overflowed. Why the hell did you mix this random color that is totally different than your catalogue sample, we didn’t ask for this!? So now we need to get the actual color mixed and reapproved with our client plus we have to repaint what we’ve already painted with the strange mystery color sample we received. Secondly we called asking if they had a good lacquer to clear over our paint for superior scratch protection, this guy tells me to use helmsman spar, a product known to peel over painted surfaces, we tried it and the result is terrible! Both the water based and oil based helmsman tell you to not use it over paint or it will peel. I asked if there was anyone more knowledgeable about this I could talk to and he told me there wasn’t, he’s the manager. What a clueless, unprofessional group, we will not be returning and will switch our account to another location. The amazing person working at the La Jolla store heard what I said and instantly recommended tinted lacquer to cut down on steps and time, we couldn’t be more pleased and appreciated her expert opinion and advice, something this store, along with our business absolutely does not have.

Do not recommend. Save your money, time and get a better looking paint job by getting something else. The paint does not cover and is over priced. I bought the low VOC paint and was told it would cover. I used 3 coats of the Sherwin Williams paint in my closet and it looked horrible. I used 2 coats of Behr paint from Home Depot on the walls in the room and it looked beautiful. Staff can't help with disputes like this, only the manager who is only available m-f 6am-3pm.

Have been to a few Sherwin Williams store and find them all very good. My neighborhood store is Morena Blvd. and it is my favorite. The sales representatives go out of their way to make sure I get the colors I need. They a friendly and informative. While the prices are higher, the quality is excellent. I could really tell the difference in the ease of spreading and coverage with the Sherwin Williams paint.

Every room in our house is painted a different color from SW and the Morena location has made it so easy for us to come back in and get the exact same paint doe touch ups after our projects (I don't even have to remember all the details.) John has always been extremely helpful and friendly. Even when there are several customers in the store he makes sure no one feels rushed. Always have recommended SW and am happy this location is close to home for us!

I've bought a good amount of paint from SW and sadly never before did anyone really explain to me the different lines of base paint but it was for walls and was fine. Fast forward to my current project. Cedric (forgive me if I didn't spell his name correctly) gave me a whole new education on paint, levels of VOCs, time to cure, and what different paints will be like when they dry. He made sure I had paint that would fit my project needs a I am so appreciative that he took the time to really discuss my project with me. It's also worth mentioning that I had called the day before and the woman I spoke with answered some of my questions and recommended Cedric. She suggested one of the paint lines I ended up going with too. This is the kind of quality customer service that makes loyal customers. I highly recommend SW and this branch in particular!
