The San Diego may have been the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had.

Walked by this spot many times but there was always a long line waiting to get in so I would skip it. On this day there was no line so I took advantage and tried them out. Ordered the OTP which is their cold brew, cinnamon and oat milk. It was so delicious I’m craving another one now as I write this. Service was super friendly and the drink was made quickly. Inside is bright and cheery with fun decorations as well as shirts and T-shirts for sale. I will definitely be going back although I will order online for pickup to avoid weekend lines.

Chocolate Chip cookie was good!! Coffee, got the drip. It was hot, and it was fresh, but not flavor, not taist, bland. Atmosphere, as well excellent! Just wish drip was better. Will try americano, next time and will update with pics.

Unwelcoming service and discrimination. Unacceptable and disappointing.

The Lox bagel sandwich tasted great. The bagel itself didn't compare to some of the best NY bagels, which I acknowledge IS a very high bar, but it was still very good, and the sandwich was packed with ingredients. I only had the chagachino (which is hard to go wrong) for my drink, so I do not have enough data to evaluate their coffee or classic espresso drinks. As far as the chagachino goes, it was a delight. I could actually taste the chaga, which I don't find to be the case at most other places that serve chagachinos. On service and ambience, if you're looking for a place to have a quiet and relaxing breakfast, or if you're a stickler about sipping your hot drinks out of a mug, I'd recommend other cafés nearby (there are tons that serve breakfast in the area). The chairs are not for sitting for longer than 30 minutes. Also, they asked if I were getting my food and drink for here or to go, so I said for here and asked my drink to be served in a mug but they were only using to-go cups at the time. Also, I received my bagel sandwich in a sandwich bag instead of on a (paper) plate like everyone else who was eating there. I wondered why they would ask if I'm eating there if it wouldn't change the way they would serve my food.

My friend and I came to San Diego for 4 days for my last birthday, and I was so excited to try out different breakfast places. We came to Spill the Beans on our first day, and our coffee and bagel sandwiches were so incredible that we came here for the remaining 3 days for breakfast. We didn't even consider going anywhere else. There was no financial incentive- we each spent almost $20 each a day but the food and coffee were so good that it was worth it. It's been 10 months, I still tell my friends about Spill the Beans, and I still have 0 regrets about not trying any other breakfast restaurants during that birthday trip.

5 stars for the bagel sandwiches!!! I got the Lox and my friends got the San Dieggo and both were great. I’m very happy we stopped for food here. I was tempted to give 4 stars but those sandwiches are absolutely wonderful. I got a cappuccino and it was alright. The indoor space is a bit small so you either sit at a table for 2 or on a barstool. There is an up charge for alternative milk and there is no bathroom.

I had a bagel and an iced coffee. It was good. They went aggressive on the cream cheese, but that is not the worst problem to have. Everyone was friendly. It's a good little place.

The cappuccino was not tasty at all and it was expensive and very small. They charge a lot for non diary milk and the café‘s interior is not cosy.

Extremely high quality location with a bit of a new kid on the block spin to it. They've got funny puns throughout the marketing which is really fun to see in the morning, good way to start your morning. The coffee options are plentiful, and the food is even better. I am a massive fan of their oatmeal w/almond butter and brown sugar, the oats are always soft and fluffy, the ratios are fantastic and when paired with a coffee and the "punny" jokes, its one of my favorite ways to start the morning.Definitely give it a try!
