During my recent visit to Sports Clips, I had a mixed bag of experiences. The stylist who initially attended to me was personable and engaging, making for a pleasant conversation. However, this seemed to come at the expense of attention to detail in the haircut. Typically, as a walk-in customer, I've had consistently good experiences with various stylists, each thoughtfully asking questions regarding each part of the haircut, but this time, I noticed some oversights after leaving the salon – my sideburns and the hair around my ears were not properly trimmed.When I returned to correct this, another stylist stepped in. I found myself in the unusual position of having to provide specific instructions on basic haircutting techniques. While I don't mind sharing my preferences, guiding a professional stylist on how to execute a haircut felt unreasonable. A brief explanation of different methods, if there are any, would have been more appropriate than expecting me to dictate the process.The second stylist's uncertainty and lack of confidence in addressing the issue compounded my frustration. The outcome was a far cry from what I expected, leading to a visibly unsatisfactory haircut. It was disconcerting to observe the lack of skill and professional judgement, which are essential in a hairstylist.Reflecting on this experience, it's clear that while the friendly staff at Sports Clips is usually a highlight, there's a significant need for improved focus on hairstyling skills and meticulous attention to detail. Engaging conversations are appreciated, but they should not detract from the primary service of providing a high-quality haircut. I remain hopeful that this feedback will encourage a better balance between customer interaction and professional hairstyling, ensuring a more consistently positive experience for all clients.Time for a trip to the hat store..

Super nice guy working there, did a nice fade, but as a retired stylist myself, when I got home I double checked the top and it was quite uneven. Lots of peaks and Valleys. They didn’t cross check their cut and I had to fix it myself as best I could at home. He’s a nice guy, just needs to double check his work.Service: Haircut

Ive been to 5 different barbers all across this city and i literally cant get a decent haircut anywhere. Everyone rushes. Does anyone pay attention to detail anymore? Anyone take pride in what they do? Im come to grips with the fact that i just look stupid now a days. Choppy and uneven. And apparently this is the bar.

I went today 8/26/23 and wanted a change in my style. I am picky about my hair. My hair is extremely fine and tends to grow everywhere. It is difficult to find a style that suits me. I don’t like it too short.Today, my stylist was LC. She listened to me while I explained what I wanted. I showed her a picture of the style I wanted. She said it was doable . She recommended a #6 for the sides because of my fine hair. I agreed and she got to work. She was patient and did not rush the job. She cut with precision and she nailed it!! They can not simply make appointments orderly. I always make an appointment online and when I go there I gotta sit there for an hour. Today I called and checked if it is actually my turn and they were like yeah come in. I went there and they told me hour wait again. They’re just lost and can’t figure this thing out.

Got a haircut today at sports clips Fenton in Mission Valley around 7 pm. Was my first time there. When checking out an asked if there was a first time visitor discount. Two employees claimed said they were giving me a senior price discount which was clearly priced as $25. I tried to tell them I was a senior as I am 72 but somehow I couldn’t get through to them that I wasn’t getting any discount as $25 was what the base price was. Not wanting to argue over a few dollars I paid the $25 in cash and left a tip. Haircut was adequate and done in under 10 minutes. Perhaps they should ask a person if they are a senior rather than assuming they are under 65 and act like they gave them a discount when none was given.Service: Haircut

I have been a customer for over 2 years and have never had a bad experience however over the past 2-3 months I have been having haircuts issues and always walk out dissatisfied. Today, I got a haircut with a new hair stylist and apparently she used a infected (dirty) blade or something on my hair and neck that caused a horrible allergy reaction. This is just scary and totally unacceptable. The management needs to make sure all their equipments are sanitized and clean. This is very unprofessional.Service: Haircut
