Amazing store with all your audiophile needs. Huge selection of just about everything, also they sell a ton of records in the back room areas. Really stellar customer service. I brought my Thorens in to replace the needle, and Matt went way above and beyond. Not only did he replace my needle, he totally tuned up the whole record player!!!! Highly recommend this place for anyone who values professionals that know what they are talking about; the white glove customer service was the cherry on top.

I just purchased a gently used Technics SL-1200G Turntable and I called the store to see if they could set it up and get the cartridge dialed in. Rey spoke to me and told me to bring it in and that he would do it himself. I took the TT into the store and left it there for a day and Rey took care of me. The price for the was extremely reasonable and best of all - he did a fantastic job! The table sounds great. I have loved going to this store for many years - they have a great collection of albums for sale, and they are excellent and patient with providing suggestions and recommendations on great-sounding albums. Over the years, I've learned a ton from the employees at the store. It's a great place to go and hang out. Lastly, they have several fantastic listening rooms and you can listen to systems at all budget levels, I never feel any pressure to buy. True audiophile stores like this are hard to find these days, it's nice to have one where the staff is so knowledgeable and patient. Thank you Rey!

I was recommended to go here from a rep at Willys Electronics. Stereo Unlimited is an amazing shop! Highly recommended. Matt is awesome. He was able to explain to my daughter what is needed to build her turntable setup.

Hello, I just purchased a stereo system from this most EPIC store in San Diego,Stereo Unlimited. This store is unbelievable with the most incredible and insane equipment. Matthew Hastings helped me through the process.He was a absolute pleasure to work with.Matthew was very knowledgeable, kind, courteous and very patient with me. I have a speech impediment.I highly recommend this store.Thanks again Stereo Unlimited.....and thank you very much to a really kickass guy Matthew.You made this purchase a true pleasure bro.....

Matthew Hastings Myers was a big help auditioning speakers yesterday. He was professional, knowledgeable and patient. I came down to listen to ATC passive speakers. He found a set and my wife and I listened for at least 30 minutes. After deciding that the ATC was not for me he played some Vandersteens for for us. I have not purchase speakers yet. Still deciding on weather I want a second system or sell the current one's I have. I told Matthew that Stereo Unlimited is my home and will try not to shop anywhere else. Matthew is an asset to the business.

Owner knowingly misled to gain sale of a product that did not meet the need (turntable) unless another product was added (phono stage preamp)...not to mention the fact the product was being discontinued, replaced.Provided the application to the owner. Discussed in-depth with him. Asked about possibility/probability of discontinuance as I prefer to avoid or wait for price drop (don't we all?/!).All n' all misled after being referred by a loyal audiophile customer. Wasted $4K. This level of audiophile/videophile product is readily available at list price. More honest stores abound. AVOID this one! btw, the loyal customer (reference) was had similar experience shortly thereafter. He, too, no longer patronizes...discourages others. Unsurprising.Ownership (Bruce) may not recall the sale or post sale conversation unless he took notes, kept good customer records...little details that best-in-class audiophile stores do to ensure great service, address issues, avoid future reoccurrence of such. Heck, I even had to bug him to get a receipt for warranty reasons. From talking with my friend, he, too had similar issues.Based on the experience, when it was time to upgrade the system, I went elsewhere to buy: VPI turntable, Dynavector, cartridge and step-up, VK, BAT. Care to guess where the Sonus Fabers came? Not this place. If Bruce had been above board, he would have had a very happy customer, had a good reference and would not have missed-out on the upgrades.

I have known and shopped at Stereo Unlimited, owned by Bruce and Ray, for over 40 years. This is a personalized local small business with a niche not otherwise found in San Diego. I have come back over and over through the years, upgrading, changing, adding and installing equipment. Ray has been my go to guy for information about gear and upgrades to my system(s). I always felt that my needs were always primary rather than just their needs to sell equipment. They are honest, have integrity, stand behind their products, find answers when they are unsure and have incredible amount of experience. They have always treated me well and worked around my budget. Their store doesn’t look like a high end retail store, however the products they sell are from entry level to high end. Ray has always discussed alternatives, recognized that different people like different sounds, sights, and brands. I see them as my tech doctors for audio/video equipment. I am thankful to have had a relationship with them for these 40+ years.Bruce has always been a vinyl audiophile. His collection of used (some never played) vinyl records is very large. He takes great pride in the quality and diversity of music he offers to people who love music.I want to commend the installation crew lead by Ken. He is reliable, engaging, tenacious, considerate, perceptive and trustworthy. He is not just doing a job. He wanted to satisfy me and would go the extra yard to do so. His work was neat and well thought out.If you are serious about audio and video, I want to encourage people who read this review to include them in their search for home audio and video. Talk to them, have patience and create a relationship. This is not a Best Buy, Amazon, Crutchfield experience. Their time and experience will lead to a satisfying result.

I’ve been going to stereo unlimited for years. Bruce, Ray, Denny, and Matt are there always with good advice and top notch equipment. I’ve upgraded over the years to my current system: Dynaudio Special 40 speakers, Rogue Magnum Cronus III integrated amp, VPI Prime 21 table and Hana ML cart. I’m in heaven.Whole room full of jazz vinyl, whole room of everything else. A few nice listening rooms to suss out your next upgrade.Thanks Stereo Unlimited!

I walked into Stereo Unlimited about 4 or 5 years ago, when I was bitten by the hi-end audio thing. In that time, I have progressively upgraded my system with the help of the excellent staff here. In my experience, I have found them to be very honest, knowledgeable and committed to getting you in the right system for you.In my most recent visit here, I upgraded my speakers to a pair of excellent Revel floor standing ones. I couldn't be happier. I worked with Matt, who was most patient and dedicated. He made sure I walked out of there happy. Very pleased with the service and their commitment.
