Rebecca Long harbored my daughter without my consent. In doing so many times she repeatedly violated CA penal code 275 which is punishable with jail time and a fine. One of the many times Rebecca harbored my daughter illegally, my daughter came home with lice. After we told her many times to stop her illegal activity, Rebecca Long served us with a restraining order claiming harassment, which a judge quickly dismissed. Coincidentally during our interactions with Rebecca Long our house in North Park was egged and our 20 year old minivan was vandalized (keyed both sides and smashed a tail light). Rebecca's daughter told the judge that she knew who vandalized our property and home but we did not pursue charges because Rebecca long is a single mother of 2 girls. We know that Rebecca works with hair during the day and works bars at night to make ends meet. Unfortunately Rebecca Long poisoned my adopted daughter's mind so much that my daughter turned against us, has been in a psychiatric facility all summer, and is now in a residential home. Rebecca Long is self-pitying, devoid of character, and vindictive. I would never trust Rebecca Long with corrosive chemicals or sharp objects near anyone because if she thinks you're looking at her wrong no one knows what she'll do with them.

Michael is the master, he has been cutting my hair for over 40 years. I have always lived in San Diego so travel was never an issue now I drive 100 miles or more to get my haircut

Just wish to say, if any one wants quality service with a smile and professionalism. This is the place to go. I was very impressed with my hair which I was concerned about. Doug(owner) did an outstanding job, my hair is happy‼️❤. The staff is very personal when it comes to treating the client with TLC!! Plus, there is a movie theater connected to this awesome business. Bobby has been my hairdresser for over 30 years. He is fantastic! Doug, the owner, runs a great place that includes an outdoor classic movie theater. Try Tops! You will love it!

Doug is a master at what he does. Called, let them know I was a new client and was told the owner (Doug) has consults first with all new clients. Thought that was nice and even better they had an opening the very next day. Doug is one of the few stylists to take the time to assess my hair and what type of style I was looking for. As I have curly/wavy hair, getting a good cut is very hit or miss. This time was a absolute hit!!! This is the best my hair has looked in a long time. Even better, it looked just as good today after I washed and styled it myself. So many times, it looks great and so cute when you walk out of the salon but the next time you wash it and try to style it, you can't get it the same way. Is the salon a little pricey at $65 for a haircut? Yeah but it was worth every penny. Definitely have found my new stylist.

this rating is ONLY for the 'principle of the situation' not the hair cut. i scheduled an appt for a trim/shape up. was told by receptionist that the appt is a '1/2 cut', and priced accordingly. hung up thinking that the pricing would be 1/2 off the $65.00 since it was just a trim. came in for appt and as doug, the owner, was cutting my hair i asked him explain what the 1/2 cut was- as i never had heard of this before. he explained what it meant, and i added that my appt was set as a 1/2 cut and i should be charged accordingly. (doug said that my 'cut' wasn't considered a 1/2cut). doug replied 'humph' and continued to cut. (during the convo of the cut he did say "these young kids" as in reference to the receptionist who had made the appt.) as i am sitting in the chair, doug asked the receptionist to find out 'who made the appt'.... found out it was she!!! after the cut, i went up to pay. i was stunned, dumbfounding that i was charged for a full cut. doug was at the service counter as i was discussing the incorrect charge. the receptionist asked if i wanted to chat w doug- who was right behind her (talking about some fedex package!) HE SAID NOR DID ANYTHING.... this is the owner!!! the man with the golden rod who COULD HAVE MADE THINGS RIGHT!!! IT WAS HIS EMPLOYEE'S MISTAKE. certainly left with my hair in tangles (sour taste in my mouth). i wish i could at least take back the $5.00 tip let alone the charge for the full haircut!!! i will fight this charge based on principle.... DOUG DID NOT DO THE RIGHT THING!! (to add salt to the wound: when i sat down he asked if he did my hair before!!! guess he doesn't remember his clients!!! i had been there before. he chopped off my long hair to a bob. or lob as he called it. OMG!!!!!!!!) i could never go back to tops salon .... this place certainly lacks in customer service (go up and beyond, claim your 'mistake'. no morality or ethics here).

I absolutely love the way Katie A. does my hair! Previously I went to a series of other stylists who weren't too bad on the haircut, but I always hated the way they styled it at the end... But Katie always does it just the way I like it. I'm never trusting anyone else with my hair!

I had my 1st experience at Tops Salon in Mission Hills today. Doug the owner took care of me. I requested contrasting highlights and lowlights. They came out absolutely gorgeous!

This was the worst experience of my life. DOUG is by far the most awful hair person ever. I had a wedding coming up and explained that to the receptionist. I made the appointment before everything opened, only place that was opened during covid. I needed a root touch up and a trim. I brought pictures of what I was hoping for. Appointment was at 12pm. I left at 4pm balling my eyes out. I tipped 50 bucks and when I got to my car I saw closely what an awful job he did. I went back in and asked for my tip back, made him fix the huge orange chunk in the bangs. In which he painted color on it. Never washed it out just sprayed water on it. My hair had so much cut off but looked so uneven. He put color in a bottle squirted on the tips and rubbed it in with my hair to the top. As if he did a box color from home. I had never seen such a horrible job. He never did my roots. I can't believe he's an owner, because he does not know what he's doing. I had to get a color correction specialist. She could not believe what he did. She took pictures and said shes heard of the same thing before from that salon. I had no kind of cut that was even, one long strand he forgot. There were gaps where he missed. She said it looked like someone did their hair blind. Even she was pissed that he could even be licensed. The color he put at the ends of my hair is what she is having the hardest time correcting. Ive always had long hair so its anxiety having someone chop it off and ruin it, especially a week before a wedding. My fiancee was irate when I came home crying. Doug is so unprofessional! I demanded my money back for the job he was incapable of doing. The money doesn't take back the length of my hair, the horrible color he decided to add to the end. It also doesn't take back the time, the anxiety and the bad hair I had to show up at a wedding for. You should be ashamed of yourself Doug. And just because you gave me my money back, you shouldn't continue calling me asking me to take down a yelp review. Even more of a reason to do a great job, you want clients to come back. That's how places stay open. I understand times are hard but this is my hard earned money too. If you couldnt do the job you should have put me with someone who could. If I would have seen this review I would have never went to Tops salon. I can only pray no one has to go thru the horrible experience I did! Thanks for returning my money. You lost 336$ and a great customer.
