I hate it when the merchandise doesn't have a price. I randomly grabbed a couple of things, expecting cost to be about $20-40 or so. Guessing since there were no prices. The total was $75. Other times I've gotten good prices. So it'd like a game; you must be a risk taker because you go t know that you're paying .

I’ve been an ULTA customer until today- I typically don’t ask for help, but today I was in a rush and needed a particular item. There was no greeting from employee to customer and the store was a mess. I couldn’t find the color I wanted and In the 15 minutes I was there, no one approached me to ask if I needed help. 3 employees were congregated in the middle of the store,
Just talking and laughing as if no one was there. I decided that would be my last day at an ULTA and left to Sephora.
On my way to Sephora, I called them
To confirm that they had the item I was looking for. Not only did they have it ready in the check-out counter, they also helped me locate other items and made me a few
Samples. Every Sephora associate was nice, helpful, and acknowledged us.

I went in yesterday to look for a hydrating lip balm with skincare in it and Amber was sooooo incredibly helpful and I’m so happy with my purchase!!! I loved how detailed she was with her own experience with different lip balms and ultimately helped me find a perfect match for myself, so grateful as I’m noticing a difference in lips in just one day, THANK YOU AMBER!!!! She’s really the best

My balayage/haircut experience with Dellys was nothing short of spectacular! I had a vision but we didn’t know if it was possible with my previous hair coloring. He worked his magic and I was so pleasantly surprised that we had even surpassed my expectations. He is not only a master of his craft, but also the best possible person to be stuck with for 5 hours straight. Thanks again Dellys !!

Went in to look around for nothing particular but ended up talking to the general manager Dan. He was so helpful! He definitely knows his industry very well. I was so thankful I found him. Now I have someone I can trust as I go forward and try other lines that I'm not familiar with. Thanks Dan! You're great!! So happy I found you!!

I’m here to say that Justin knows how to cut your hair to your face shape and offers great insights on what would look good and what wouldn’t work that well. I’ve booked him multiple times now and highly recommend. He’s very knowledgeable about products and hair/scalp health as well. Also, he listens to what you want carefully and does what you ask. Very friendly and non problematic. Love!

This is a review for the hair salon, not for the store. I have been going to Ulta hair salon every month consistently since they had the store at La Jolla/UCSD location. Unfortunately since that location was closed I have been coming to Ulta at Clairemont or Miramesa locations. A hair stylist from Ulta La Jolla recommended I get 1 hour processing for the color of my root touch up because I have resistant gray hair. I have been getting one hour processing at least for the last 9 years at Ulta. Today I had a hair appointment for root touch up with Hannah. When I arrived at the store they told me my appointment was with someone different. I booked the appointment online and I didn't take a screenshot so I had no way to prove my appointment was with Hannah. I understand those things may happen and I say it is ok. But the person who was going to do my color told me I can only process my color for 40 minutes and if I want to go over 40 minutes I have to pay $20 extra. I explained to him I have a resistant grey and that for that reason a hair stylist from Ulta recommended 9 years ago that I process my color for 1 hour. He told me these are Management orders, it was written on the computer by a Manager on my profile and there was no way he could let me process my color for 1 hour without charging me $20. He was nice about it and I don't blame him. It seems he is just following orders. I asked Hannah if maybe I could make an appointment with her for a different day as I have seen her in the past and if she could let the color to process 1 hour as we have always done that. Hannah told me no, that if I go over 40 minutes processing she will have to charge me $20. I reminded her that for many years I have been getting 1 hour color processing for my resistant grey with no extra charge. Hannah's response was rude and not very nice, as she said: " then for many years you have been taking advantage of people" ! I couldn't believe what a rude response that was. It was not my idea to process my color for 1 hour but actually a hair stylist from Ulta recommended it! I think Hannah's response today was not very nice. I have better manners than she does and I said that I was very sorry but that 40 minutes processing is not enough for my resistant gray per the recommendation of an Ulta hair stylist and I left. Hannah, if you are reading this, you need to do better when it comes to treating your customers who are being nice to you. That is no way to reply to anyone and if you wanted to be mean, Congrats! that was super mean on your part. I am happy I didn't go low and gave you a nasty answer too. I was nice to you and left politely as you left me speechless with your response. I could only say: Wow! But now let me tell you everyone here that as a hair dresser Hannah is just ok. Apart from moody it seems as per her behavior today, Hannah doesn't listen to what you want and she wants to do whatever she wants with your hair. I noticed this in the past but never said anything to her and agreed with her. For a root touch up Hannah is ok but I wouldn't recommend her for a haircut or for a bang trim. I love Ulta :) and thankfully hair stylists and Managers at Ulta come and go all the time and there are many Ulta locations in San Diego. Too bad current Management at this Clairemont location has decided to change things on old loyal customers like myself without any warning or explanation. You don't do that to customers that have been consistently giving you good solid business for so many years. Is it worth the $20 extra you want to charge them all of a sudden for a service they have been getting with not extra charge for all those years? Think about it because I don't think it is worth it to lose an old customer for a new policy that makes no sense and takes them by surprise. I hope the owner of Ulta is reading this. This lack of consideration with old customers is not good for business!

Dellys is extremely unprofessional and rude. He immediately started telling me I booked the wrong service because I don't have curly hair. I have wavy hair, and wanted the protein treatment to help develop the wave pattern. He also acted like a scab on my neck from an unfortunate breakout that was well on its way to healing was a biohazard or something. I got up and left because there's no way someone who clearly hates their job is touching my hair.
The GM was very kind and I will probably book here again because everyone else in the salon is lovely, but be aware that there's a very real reason this guy seems to have a lot of availability.
