This VCA is so amazing. Every single person on the staff is so kind and they really care about your pet. There is another vet much closer to me, but I prefer this VCA so much that I always go there.A lot of vets brush you off and make you feel rushed to get out of their hair, but not the VCA Main staff. Thank you all so much!! I wish I could remember the names of the people I saw today, but everyone I talked to was amazing.

Everyone and I mean everyone has been so sweet every time we come in with our pets. You can tell that each person enjoys their job and loves animals. OUr needs are met and explained to us in layman's terms so we know what is happening all time. We know we are getting top quality care and we are so appreciate of everyone there. Our animal's problem has been resolved every time. When our beloved cat died, we were very impressed of the empathy that was shown. They truly love animals.

Dr Bardini and her staff helped me during our long journey with heart and kidney disease. Right up until I had to lay my sweet boy to rest. Every phone call and message was returned promptly. So much information and guidance was given to me. I actually followed Dr. Bardini from her previous hospital. So I can recommend her to care for your pets 100%. Such a wonderful and caring Dr. I cannot thank VCA main st enough for everything they have done for my fur babies. I will continue to bring Peep, Buddy, and Everest to them . I trust them with my pets. Rip my sweet max. 8/23/23

Ain’t what it used to be. Miss Drs Kelly and Schroeder. Always outrageously expensive thanks to its VCA affiliation.I wish Bond Veterinarian would open here in San Diego. If it’s gotta be corporate care, we need a better option than VCA, Vetco and Banfield.

Unfortunately I forgot my vets name but the team at this location were awesome today! My dog took a turn last night with gastro issues and they were able to get me in fast due to a last minute opening. The front desk ladies were super sweet as well! The vet and her assistant were patient and listened and also gave me great advice! The prices were reasonable (for San Diego) and I didn't leave feeling like I was taken advantage of for wanting to make sure my dog child was ok. Thank you again ladies!

Would not recommend waist of time and money took him to a better vet after. My cat did not even get diagnosed by the doctor and had a bad rash and to start , never took his temperature and had really no idea what was weong with him and ended up leaving with a pain med, no answers and a large bill

I came here following old staff from the Hillcrest location. Specifically desire the manager and the tech veronica. Arrival was good, staff was friendly. But then I encountered with the tech, Marlene. By far the worst experience ever. She made me feel like the worst pet owner. Gave me a diagnostic even though she is not a doctor. When I asked to speak to the staff I knew, she said they were unavailable and that she was the person in charge. In a very rude tone she said "actually I'm the supervisor here today so no one else would be available to assist you". I later could hear her hysterically laughing while I was in the room. I would never trust her with my pets. If I return here it is solely for the caring staff that I know works here.

I’ve been going here for years. Recently started going to Dr Bardini. Never been more impressed with the care and service of my 4 legged best friend. Highly recommend this location.

This is a price gouging review. Our dog had a diagnosis of parasites. The next day the medicine was ready, I stopped by to pick up. It was 7 packets of powder and was $44. I thought that was a little expensive but figured that might be the normal price, so I payed it. Our dog didn't take 2 of the 7 packets due to not eating the meal it was put in. My wife asked the vet for 2 more packets. So the following week, I stop and pick up the 2 packets. They wanted to charge me $44. I told the gal up front that I payed $44 last week for 7, why is it the same price for 2! She goes back for an answer and comes back to tell me that it's a dispensary charge. What! So the price is the same if it's 2 or 7 packets. She just said that's what they told her in the back. I finally noticed the container had a qty:8 on it. I brought that to her attention but she didn't have much to say. I left fearing my anger was going to make me do something. My wife calls them later that day about it and they said that $10 will be returned to my card. Really? Why the hell didn't they do that when I was there. Thx front desk gal, you're a pathetic excuse for a helpful worker. I believe they are nickle and diming people.

Made an appointment. Had no details sent to me for it. Was 3 mins late and they wouldn’t see my dog because of a 5 min grace period that I was also not informed about. If you want a doc who cares go somewhere else

I've been going to this VCA location for over a year and most of my visits have been good except the last visit. We saw Dr. Field and from the beginning to the end of the visit was awful. He was sarcastic, spoke so low I could barely understand him and was reluctant to write any of his recommendations down on paper until I insisted and he wrote it on a paper towel while he complained that the place was so cheap they couldn't afford a pen and paper. We came in for another ear infection and to look at her eyes which had more discharge than normal. I expressed how I'd like to have some sort of maintenance medication for my lab who suffers from chronic ear infections. His response was yeah I bet you would....along with suggesting I use over the counter solution for her eyes, changing her diet to an online resource. He also recommended an ear cytology and didn't give me the cost before taking her out of the room to perform it. I assumed he did it and I was charged $104. I was there about an hour and another $250 for the cytology, exam, ear and eye medication. It appears that in previous reviews other patients had the same complaint with Dr. Field. I wish I would've seen the reviews before agreeing to the appt with him. The stars are strictly for the vet tech who was super nice but this particular Dr. I would not recommend.

Worst service ever. They visited my kitten and prescribed her medications. She wasn’t improving after 12 days. I walk-in and they sent me home. I booked an appointment I got there 7 minutes late and they told me the doctor wasn’t able to see me because I was late and to come back in the afternoon. If you care for your pet don’t go there. Staff wasn’t helpful. Apparently one of their doctors tells the patients to come back without appointment if the medication he prescribes doesn’t work, but then you discover that this doctor is not the main one and you need an appointment so they send you home if you do what he says. And worst even with an appointment if you are 7 minutes late they are not going to visit your pet. Unacceptable service.

Kind and caring staff. Felt welcomed and concerned for our senior dog. Technician was very thorough with getting history and questions. Very informative and thorough exam with Dr. Fields. Manager was very kind to go over costs and options including insurance plans and expectations.
