This review is for the sushi. Quality has gone down came in noon time and rice tasted hard and not freshly made. The imitation crab in the cali roll changed and not for the better. The brown rice cali crab is the crab that you should be putting in all the California rolls. You can do better chef.

I called to get some chicken tenders cooked fresh for when I got there in 15 minutes to find that nobody had even began frying any.. then I reordered some and it came out raw and my fiancé ate a nice piece of it. When I went to report it to the manger on one seemed to care all that much and the person who fried it was not talked to about the situation.. so Beware you chicken could come raw if cooked in under 15 minutes! They told me my chicken would be done in 5-6 minutes and that's why I was raw in the first place!

Been using this Vons for more than 20 years. This is a new low. It is a suburban store in a good area, but apparently they are plagued with high volume thieves who wheel cartloads of unpaid groceries out of the store. They have implemented a system that locks up your cart wheels while you are still in the store. The store employees admit this is a fault-prone system and they all carry "keys" to unlock cart wheels when customers get stranded in the aisles. Sunday it happened to us, after we paid and while we were at the exit door. Our cart suddenly stopped rolling, loud alarms went off, security lights starting flashing and a large camera started blinking "YOU ARE BEING FILMED". We were frightened and took a few minutes to figure out what was going on. One employee took our receipt and started checking our cart. Another strode up and said I'm In Charge. Receipt checker said we were good and walked away. We started getting upset about being stuck in the entrance to the store with a non-functional cart, alarms, sirens and video taping, "I'm In Charge" ran to the customer service counter and locked herself in the back room. We were too hostile, she said. No one unlocked our cart. I transferred everything to a new cart that would roll. When I got back to the store, the (self identified) assistant manager was there. She apologized. We asked what training the employees had received for these situations. She said they had been trained but could not show us the training manual, or describe the training. She was interested in explaining how the cart stopping system worked and the benefits of the system (discourage thieves). It was a very "Vons" perspective, and did not include the big picture: that EVERY EMPLOYEE has to carry a key to unlock carts = lots of unhappy customers stuck in the aisles, false alarms = customers being embarrassed and falsely identified as thieves in their own neighborhood where they know people, carts stop rolling suddenly = broken toes leading to lawsuits. We asked if they take the carts that behave like this out of circulation (maybe the system flaws are really cart flaws), they said no. We asked if they had considered disabling the system until it worked better, they said they can't. There are many other grocery stores within a few miles. Recommend you shop at one of those, and if you must shop here, avoid the carts.

Sherry is literally a gift to this earth! Always with a friendly smile and a great attitude. She should win Safeway employee of the year! The store is always beautiful and clean. This Vons is top drawer!

Deli, service person Liam should not be working with the public. He is very un professional and makes the process of ordering a sandwich or getting deli meat sliced very unpleasant. He was rude to several customers at each encounter. I understand waiting on the general public is not an easy task, but this is all year round encounters with him are very very uncomfortable. He is also rude to his employees. Please remove him from the front counter at the Deli. Please.

This is my Vons store that I go to at least once a week. 2 weeks before Thanksgiving 2023, I bought 2 turkeys, buy one get one free. At check out, I inquired with the cashier ( I believe her name was Zoraiba), who was yakking with her fellow cashier in spanish, if one of the turkeys came out as free...she just gave me a dismissive look and said..'well, you got all these savings, so you must have..' I was very surprised at this unfriendly response. Vons staff is always very assistive and customer oriented and usually checks the ticket if you have concerns about your purchase. I walked back to my car seething and just decided to post this now to let the manager know.

When I need something really quick I come to Vons, the service is great and everyone is helpful and friendly. The store is very spacious and clean. The food is also great I definitely recommend the cheesecake from Vons.

Probably the WORST vons I have ever been In. 9:30 only self checkout is open well we have purchases that are for checkers only. I’m told to wait 5 minutes go by hold on somone will be right with you. There are 3 people in the front mind you. Ohh I’m told to wait because the checker decided to go next door and get food instead of doing her job. Wow Vons. We walked out

This is specifically about the deli. The rest of the store is amazing. The lady with the glasses behind the counter was coughing open mouthed all over someone's meat she was cutting up. I wanted to say something but the woman who's meat she was cutting didn't even say anything. It was disgusting. I don't even want to get anything from the deli anymore knowing this lady is coughing out in the air all over the food!

Generally I have great experience in Vons. Recently, I ordered a tres leches cake a week before the birthday party and they called me on the day before the event and said could not make the cake anymore with various reasons. Initially 1/2 was not possible, when I said 1 tray they told me that berry weren't available, the baker was on leave and so on. This information could have been passed on the day when I ordered and not on the last day. Hopefully this is the last time and does not repeat
