What an amazing nursery! They've got everything you need for your garden and indoor plant collection from airplants, huge staghorn ferns, citrus trees, roses...everything you could imagine! It's a plant lover's paradise! Workers are super helpful. They're working all over the place and there to answer any questions or help you find what you need. Grab a shopping cart or flatbed at the entrance before you head in because you'll need it to carry all the plant babies you'll find to purchase. Plenty of parking. I assume you can bring your pup in because they have a pet poop bag dispenser at the entrance. Seriously love this place!

Great location for anyone who is into plants and flowers. The staff here are super knowledgeable about anything that is plant related!!! I came in to talk to them about my roses. Moving and things. They were super friendly. The value of their items were affordable too!

I have purchased over $1000 worth of plants from Walter Andersen Nursery. We were re-doing our entire landscape, and was creating a plant fence between our property and the neighbor's. So we bought a lot of shrubs, flowers, and succulents. I give two stars to their friendly custom service. Whenever I shop there, the staff are nice and happy to answer my questions. Where are the rest of three stars? They lost me on the selection and value. Their policy are not really buyer friendly. They only honor return within one month. Meanwhile Home Deport, Lowe's or Armstrong have lifetime guarantee on all trees and shrubs. In my experience, among all the 20 shrubs that I purchased, 3 of them didn't do well. The majority of them are fine, so it does rise the question, what if something is wrong with the 3 of them? But with their policy, I can never get my money back. Because shrubs die slowly, it only shows signs of symptoms after one month. In case if you were wondering, these 20 shrubs were planted in the same area, with the same amount of sun and water. That to be said, I just think the value here is not that great. I can't say if I can shop confidently here. Especially later on that I found Armstrong were selling the same shrubs for $5 less each. That's $100 for me since I bought 20 shrubs. Lesson learnt.

Amazing place, great service. Came for a Christmas tree but soon realized this place does much more than that! Great quality of service, Kyle was very kind and accommodating. Will be back soon as they gave us a gift card to use as well.

My boyfriend and I decided to plant a garden in our backyard. We didn't know where to start so I thought we would head over to Walter Anderson to take a look around. We walked around the store for about 10-15 minutes looking aimlessly until a nice employee walked up to us and asked if we needed any help. We certainly did, we told him that we wanted to start a garden but didn't know where to start. He talked to us for about 15 minutes to ask what are objective was and what we wanted to grow. Not knowing exactly what we wanted to grow we asked for his recommendation. He proceeded to walk around the store and recommended what he would plant in that garden if he would plant. He guided us through the store and within 25 we were out with two fruit, 5 herb plants, and 6 flowers. I got to say it was mission accomplished all thanks to Walter Anderson and it's great employees.

i've been a customer at Andersens for decades. All I can say is that the original Walter Andersen would be very unhappy about the way the place is being run now. I can only chalk it up to poor management. The plants are still excellent. but not for the first time it was a joke when I had to pick up an order that I had called in several days ago. Nobody knew where it was, nobody could find the paperwork or any computer record of it, I called ahead and one person on the phone left me hanging for a long time then came back and said what was your name again? And then somebody else came on the line and said what's your order for? And then somebody else came on the line and said what's your name? Finally I went into the nursery and the person who I had talked to was doing something else and someone else was wandering around trying to find the order. Come on. Then they said --what was your name again? you can decide whether getting really good plants is worth putting up with this kind of ridiculously poor management.

We made the choice to get rid of our grass and plant a small fruit orchard. First place we thought of was to come to Walter Anderson nurseries. I've been here a few times and I noticed they have a great selection of fruit trees and flowers. My boyfriend and I came here on a Saturday afternoon and browsed around. The service here is awesome. An employee saw us walking around looking aimlessly so he checked up on us and asked if we needed any help. Help we certainly needed. We didn't know where to start or what to get or even how to get the garden started. After a 15 to 20 minute conversation with the employee we had a better understanding and we felt pretty good about starting our garden today. We end up getting lemon tree, orange tree, fig tree, and a few Bunches of strawberry plants. We thought this would be a good start to your garden. We're so glad that we came here or else we might have been lost in what we wanted to accomplish.

I get all my plants here. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Their milkweed (at least at the Point Loma location does not give any signs of pesticides. My go to nursery. They give coupons when you spend $50 (I believe). Great prices!

Stopped in to get a Shaw's agave and Madagascar jasmine and they had both. The staff is extremely helpful. I thought going to get plants at a nursery would be more expensive than Home Depot or Lowe's. but I was wrong. I will be returning to Walter Anderson.

Walter Andersen Nursery in Point Loma is one of my favorite nurseries to shop for all my garden needs from fertilizers, compost, potting soil, mulch, veggie packs, roses, variety of fruit trees, succulents, pots, orchids, etc. They have very knowledgeable and supportive staff on the floor to provide information and tips to their customers to ensure success in gardening. The nursery has done a lot to improve the facility for the past few years indoor and outdoor. It is well stocked and very clean. A popular nursery for the locals. Parking is limited and it is hard to get in and out of the lot especially during peak hours. They do offer free garden classes so check schedules and locations.

Chris was so helpful! He answered a ton of my questions about citrus trees and took the time to show us around the nursery and explain a lot of complex citrus planting details. Such a cute little nursery too with tons of parking and a huge selection of every outdoor planting accessories and plants.

This is one of my favorite nurseries in San Diego! They have an amazing selection of cactuses and succulent that you can't find elsewhere. They have a wonderful selection of veggies and fruit trees including some rare/heirloom varieties that are hard to find elsewhere. They are not the cheapest nursery by any means, but I think there products are absolutely worth the extra you pay for the basics. They also have some of the most helpful and friend staff of any nursery in San Diego. Highly recommend!
