Stopped by the Vons in Clairemont Square to see if they had some spare cardboard moving boxes. I spoke with Seth on Monday, July 11 who was stocking the shelves. He said he would check in the back, and I offered to help him with the boxes and followed him in. He found some and said I could have them, so I began gathering them. He said, "Help yourself," and walked back to the front of the store. Then, another employee who claimed to be a manager, CARMEN, asked me if I was a customer and said I needed to leave. I tried to explain to her that I had come back there with another employee who told me to "help myself" but she rudely cut me off while I was talking, while she was on a phonecall, and sternly and loudly said "I dont care, you need to leave." I understand liability, and as someone who has managed people and customers that its important to treat customers with respect, NOT BE RUDE AND VERBALLY ABUSE THEM and train employees if they are not following protocols.

I have been having my groceries delivered from Vons for a few years now. Not too long ago, Vons decided to stop having their employees make the delivery and started having third party vendors do the delivery. It has been a frustrating disaster for me and I am considering doing my shopping elsewhere. Today's delivery was dropped off at the apartment building accross from mine. I had to walk over like a thief and take it back to my place. A few weeks ago the driver dropped off some items from my order somewhere else, which I never received. Another time the driver told me the bags are too heavy and asked me to come to the street and pick them up. Wake up Vons. You need to get your own employees back to making deliveries. They have a stake in the company and the service they provided showed that.

I like this location but they didn't have the milk my mom drinks but ended up picking some items for a get together before leaving San Diego. We managed to pick up some bananas, plates, forks, etc. No mask required here but I would say half of the people wear masks and half don't. I was the one who wore a mask. You never know nowadays. This store was clean and efficient. The people working here were fast in the self check out line. The ladies were getting through the long lines and making it go faster. Plenty of parking up front. There's also a Starbucks inside. A major plus.

The people who work at the deli/lunch area have been giving people stomaches. Don't know if it's because they didn't cook it right or just don't cook it all. Especially with sushi!! The Caucasian young man with glasses has been rude every time I come in and supposedly has been rude to others as well. If he hates the job so much why stay and give customers attitude.

I've never been treated so poorly by a grocery store employee ever. I called the meat department and asked an employee who answered, she sounded like an older lady. I asked her if she was aware if the store ran there $5 sushi Friday deal which I saw online. She interrupts me mid sentence and said this is a meat department we don't make sushi very rudely. I know you don't make sushi in the meat department, but I asked a general question to an employee of the store about a weekly promotion they run. She then proceeded to rudely interrupt me again and said this is a meat department we don't make sushi I'll transfer you with a nasty tone. This employee in the meat department need some training and reprimand on how to talk to customers, and maybe should be aware of store-wide promotions that are run every single week. On the bright side I ended up calling again speaking with with a deadly employee I think her name was mary, who was extremely helpful and very kind.

Really like this Vons compared to others. The people working here are friendly and welcoming. I went in today at noon to get a sandwich and the younger man who made it for me was really nice and helpful. At the other Vons I used to go to I always felt like they were annoyed and didn't want to help me (usually the older people). This was the first good experience I had ordering lunch. I don't remember his name but he was great! Thanks!

Wish I could give this Vons 0 stars. Dir Nolberto Sanchez and checker Brian B. are the most incompetent and inhumane people on the PLANET. They need to be FIRED STAT!!! I was trying to use a coupon for my 9 month olds formula and they wouldn't take it because it didn't have my name on it. HUH? FOR A COUPON! So now I'm stuck driving to another Vons that has no problem taking my coupon so that way my baby doesn't starve. What IDIOTS!Clearly they don't have children or understand how coupons work! Don't ever shop here! Update: Went directly to the Vons on Governor Dr and guess what...NO PROBLEM THERE TAKING MY COUPON!

Don't ever buy seafood from here. Bought 2 lobsters. Got home opened up the package and they were rancid. This is not the first time having issues with something from the meat department. Previously bought chicken wings and got home and they were rancid as well. Health department needs to come in there with a fine tooth comb. Something is wrong with this store. I will not shop Von's again.

I can't believe the audacity of this place and their employees. My boyfriend stopped by to pick up a nice bottle of wine for us, and before he could get to the check out he slipped on a patch of wet floor, falling and accidentally breaking the bottle. They then forced him to pay for a $50 bottle of wine that he dropped because THEIR floor was wet!! We used to shop here every week for groceries but from now on we will be making the trip to Sprouts instead. Unbelievable.

Some sick person just flagged my truthful and honest evaluation of this Vons! Why are so many folk sick in Clairemont? I'm Daniel Smiechowski and certainly approve the veracity of this message. Here is the original post in it's entirety. Fellow shoppers, This is Daniel "Danny" Smiechowski 54 year resident of Clairemont. This is painful to write, very painful because I've witnessed this behavior in the past. I seldom write negative reviews. I'm a 66 year old Ironman triathlete. My beloved Father was crippled at my age and deformed. People would avert their glance and Papa was shunned. Here is what occurred at this Vons several minutes ago. I was waiting in line minding my own business. All kinds of folk shop at Vons and I treat everyone with respect. I was wearing my triathlon shorts and I'm older with long hair. I'm 5' 11" and weigh 165 pounds of lean muscle. It happens so often and I'm an expert at distinguishing the look, laugh and smirk. Please, I'm being honest. I'm not exaggerating. There were two punk box boys maybe 17-20 years old staring at me. One began laughing as he scoped me out to his buddy. They were African American and Mexican although I don't know their names. I only mention race as a method of identity. I don't care what they were. I was belittled by these punks presumably for my looks. Remember my Papa I described. I went ballistic!!! The manager ushered me out! And one punk kept grinning as I flipped him the bird! Listen folks, we got to call them on this although they will deny everything. I'm not shopping at Vons anymore. I'm done! It's shameful to be an American in Clairemont especially for a 66 year old Ironman in perfect health with no bone to pick unless I'm attacked. Boycott Vons! I'm Daniel Smiechowski Thank you!

I wish I could give half a star at minimum, Daniel needs to take classes on resolution management, it's a brick wall, not even human. I had an issue that was totally human and fixable and instead of working with me, he blamed me even after I told him what happened and I myself tried to address the issues.... I don't know if I can go to this store ever again.... He withheld the manager special toilet paper, I thought it was a joke.... Hire someone with experience in conflict resolution, not a bagger please...
