The amount of quality merchandise packed into such a small business is unbelievable! Would definitely recommend! Meats are quality and extremely flavorful! Courteous and friendly staff! Great neighborhood market!

This is no longer San Diego's best kept secret, since everyone now knows about it. Great little local grocery market and even better deli. I was looking forward to the street tacos since starting a cross country drive back here. They did not disappoint. The house made salsas are awesome (wide selection) along with their own tortilla chips. Very friendly staff. Highly recommend.

Best street tacos in San Diego hands down! I literally will only get them here because no where else seems to know how to make authentic street tacos. Amazing tamales and burritos as well. This place is a South Park staple.

I live very close by and go here almost daily/nightly. LOVE the cashiers, but one of the owners is VERY rude to me every time. I had taken 2 steps away from my cart to ask a question and he rudely told me not to leave my cart in the middle of the store, which I didn't. I brought it to the end of the isle and placed it close to the shelves and like I said, was 2 steps away to ask cashier a question. Also told this manager guy I was right there and need help getting something down from a shelf. (I have a bad back at the moment and use the carts instead of the baskets because it's more comfortable than my crutch and a basket). So he just walked away from me. He nEVER came back to help me get my item, so I just climbed up the shelf myself!! I will continue to shop here FOR nOW. But if anything ever opens up again in the old Millers Grocery lot, I will be taking my business there. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt if maybe they're in a bad mood once or even twice, but this guy is repeatedly rude to me. It's a shame that one bad apple can ruin the entire bunch!!

Great neighborhood market and butcher. The marinated steak and chicken is great for grilling and they have all kinds of fresh Mexican cheeses and tortillas you can't find at a big grocery store. Like a mini pancho villa. This market saved me during the pandemic and i stop in every time Im in South Park.

Great produce and meat counter. Friendly staff and good prices. They even made us moms feel special with a flower on Mother's Day.

Store Layout/ Staff/ Parking: Parking is generally easy in their private lot. The store is modestly sized, and is easy to navigate. Staff is helpful and friendly. Food: This neighborhood market has a good general selection of items with good fresh produce. The meat selection is good and has lots of cuts catering toward traditional Mexican and American cuts. While the selection isn't as extensive as a big name supermarket, it has most of what one would need for an average meal at moderate prices. Overall: Great option if you live in the area. Try going here instead of the big supermarket and you may be surprised how much of your list you can cross off

I have lived in the area for 20+ years and have probably driven by here many times, but I need to pick up milk and it was on the way home. I walked in and was amazed how orderly everything was. They have a lot of things I would need and fresh produce. They sell some of the local coffees which is great! They also have a large wine collection and craft beers. I can't wait to come back and get something else. Definitely worth checking out, especially if you live in the area.

I walked in the rain get a sandwich. I walked a mile and a half because I do not drive due to my traumatic brain injury and seizure disorder. They also have a sign that says their deli is open until 7pm. The store is open until 8pm. That makes complete sense. 1 hour to close the deli down. I have been discriminated upon by Uber and many other companies. I'm not saying that this local business discrimated upon me because of my disability. Regardless, I am now walking to Target. The last place in my community I want t8 give business.

I'm very disappointed about my experience tonight at this Local place. I want to support local, but not after this. Last Monday (6/7) I was craving guacamole. I purchased the FoodBowl brand, which was 4.99. Got home and it was rancid- looked at the date and it should've been good till 6/10 or 3 days later. If I kept eating it I would've been sick because they have Mayo in their guacamole. I kept the receipt but I work 12 hour shifts in healthcare, and couldn't get in till today to let them know. Didn't think it would be a problem to put it toward my 40$ purchase tonight. In my 53 yrs, I've only brought things back 2x- spinach to Barons and Milk to Ralphs. Both places stood by their products and did an exchange or return no problem. The owner or manager tonight at Food Bowl told me "next time don't wait so long to bring it back." Why does that matter? It was bad the day I got it, and it's only been 5 days. Bad customer service and I sadly won't be going back if that's how they handle things. Too bad.

The adage," never judges a book by its cover," applies to this Food Bowl Market. I've been driving by Food Bowl Market every other day for the past two years and never thought once to stop into this place. Looking at the outside, I thought it was just another corner store. I was simply wrong. One day on my journey to find coconut, I went inside this store and saw the deli in the back. After seeing the meats, I decided to give their Mexican food a try, and boy, was I surprised by the quality and taste! Food Bowl Market is one of my favorite Mexican food spots so far near downtown San Diego, not so much in the environment because there's nowhere to sit in eat, but in terms of the quality and the taste. My top two recommendations so far are the Shrimp Burrito and Carne Asada burrito. If you like seafood, you won't be disappointed with the shrimp burrito! When ordering the shrimp burrito, I recommend ordering it with no rice. What I love about their shrimp burrito is that the shrimp is cleaned. One of my pet peeves when getting a shrimp burrito is biting into shrimp that aren't deveined. They also add cabbage and their special sauce gives it a nice flavor. As far as the Carne Asada burrito, it's seasoned nicely, and you can tell that the meat is fresh. All and all is a lovely spot that's more oriented towards quality. Give it a try!

Really good. A coworker and I went here for our lunch and got the feast for 4 and it came with the right amount of everything. Will go back there again for lunch if I'm in this part of town.!
