Condescending with ZERO effort to support their members. I called in and spoke to two different employees. I'll say this, both employees, with TONS of resistance did not want to do their jobs. Both did absolute minimum to help me. My only advice...do better or you'll see much more of us choose a much more caring banks as I have.

I have been a member of Wheelhouse Credit Union in downtown San Diego for over twenty years. They have ALWAYS been helpful. If you want personalized service, this is definitely the place to go.I recently had my user name and password stolen. Obviously wanted to change account info. as soon as possible. Delia K. and Deanna P. to the rescue. They came up with a solution to my problem. They fixed my accounts and all the worry associated with stolen info. They not only resolved the situation but stayed long after the credit union had closed to make everything right. Talk about customer service! How many other banks or credit unions would do that?Just amazing.

If absolutely possible DO NOT USE this credit union for your solar project. They're the absolute worse. Over the span of 4 months I lost count of the amount of times they harass and require you to fill out the same freaking application or forms. When you think you're done... nope there's another one. Oh did they say just one more form?? Ha. Nope there's another one. I finally got to the end of my solar project. EVERYTHING IS COMPLETE... guess what? There's another form you have to complete with wheel house. They're ridiculous. The only thing they haven't asked me for is blood from my unborn son. And honestly I think it might be on the next form.

Do not bank with this institution, I say DON'T. They will take all your money and denied all they want. Wheelhouse cash Middle Class Tax refund that was sent to me via Debit Visa Card and refused to deposit it in my account as I requested initially. I told them, will take a legal action against the institution when I find out they did not credit the money in my account but kept it. It happen when I walk inside the bank for a sharing branching business to withdraw money from out of State credit union account, during the process I ask the teller if Wheelhouse cash Middle Class Tax Refund Debit Visa that I received and put the money in my credit union account out of State. After entering my pin number and sign everything they didn't credit the money instead request for my finger print. I said NO, you would have ask for my finger print first before telling me to put my card, pin number and sign for it. As a retired banker myself, Wheelhouse Credit Union supposed to collect the finger print first before asking the customer to put their debit visa card, pin number and sign it. Once a customer do this three things, customer money is already with Wheelhouse Credit Union. Telling me to give my finger print after Wheelhouse had their hands on my money and told me to deal with Money Network is not how to do business. Manager was calling my phone number off the hook after I talk to her twice how it works. I didn't contact MoneyNetwork, give Wheelhouse time to decide what they wanted to do. She did apologized but lie about what happen on the day of the incident. My money was credited back to MoneyNetwork Debit Visa Card after several days.

I appreciate the Wheelhouse Credit Union on 3rd Ave in downtown San Diego. I am not a member at Wheelhouse, however I do all my shared banking here and have had many positive experiences doing so. Fast moving lines and pleasant tellers - and they even used to give Lion's coffee gratis, pre-pandemic. Wheelhouse Credit Union, they'll steer you to a great banking experience!

The only reason this credit union hasnt collapsed is because they offer good rates. (Although they have had to change name-likely because of terrible service). I even gave them a few chances to make it up. But they're inept and rude and deceptive. They will get you in with good rates, then give the worst banking service Ive ever had in 40 years! At the beginning of a loan, my car insurance didnt get added because of something with website, and they tacked on a $2300 charge to cover me for 6 weeks, and never told me they were, nor let me know my insurance didnt get added. Never could get call backs, finally had to go in. Manager working there was so unprofessional and unknowledgeable of their own system--had to keep getting help from teller and was being so condescending to the teller. Lina is amazing, but she needs to transfer to a bank when they'll back up her loans with respect, integrity, and customer service. I have had perfect credit my whole life, and will strongly recommend anyone I know to pay the extra half point and go to any bank before Wheelhouse (or whatever they change their name to next). Multiple times I got letters that I owe a payment to them, because we set it up to pull from my account. Each time they had to fix it to be set up to pull from my account, even though it was set up that way at beginning. Calls were pointless--no one is knowledgeable and no one is empowered. One of my vehicles got totaled and my insurance company said they were the most inept bank to ever deal with regarding a payoff--and I totally agreed. I got all excited when the Director of Sales and Service called, thinking someone with authority and ability to right a wrong could help (Alyson Warner.) Yet all she did was tell me the same bs about how $2300 is normal for 6 week coverage and no way to reverse the charges. They need remove the word "Service" from her title. No surprise if at the top they cant help that no one under them can either. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BANK, no matter their rates!

I was looking to set up an auto loan, I was contacted by Lina, she was very friendly and informative over the call, answered all my questions and was able to get me started pretty quickly just before the holiday wknd. I was able to go to a dealership to snag a deal. I then was able to meet Lina at the Wheelhouse branch to finalize my paperwork despite a minor discrepancy on my order she was able to calculate and point out quickly to confirm with my dealership. I would recommend Lina for her promptness, diligence, and kindness. A happy customer,-Romeo

I have to say having Wheelhouse credit union is a great credit union. Their the go to for solar financing and their process is easy and quick. I've tried working with two others in town that were not.

Top notch service from Deanna Pedrin! I was registering as a new member for the credit union, based off a family recommendation, and she made the process seemingly smooth and speedy. Banks aren't typically known to be a positive or enjoyable experience but Deanna changed my mind. She was professional, efficient and worked on completing my membership in only in a matter of a couple of hours. As a busy single mother who works and attends school full time, my time is precious and she did not waste any time by delivering excellent customer service. I have 10+ years in customer service and I can recognize remarkable service in her. Thank you Deanna for the great first impression of Wheelhouse CU, I am a happy member!

I have been with Wheelhouse for about 4 years and they have taken care of me with no issue for the most part. I am writing this review , however, to point out that I have recently experienced the best customer service ever from Lina Ricasata. She knocked it out of the ball park from start to finish. Never have I ever felt so comfortable going through a loan process. She never missed a beat and was always on top of every call as well as the history and nature of a call or transaction. Too many times have I dealt with a company in which every call in to them feels like I am starting over just to catch someone up to speed (Not efficient). I even bragged about her to some of my other business owner colleagues that are also in customer service. Satisfied customer. Chris A

Received excellent personal service from Desiree who helped me set up a my Gpay wallet on my phone. She was kind enough to call me in north county while I was taking care of my Mom and guided me through set up and updated contact information. Going to an event the following day so I needed to set everything up so I could transfer the tickets as recommended by the venue. Thanks Desiree!

If you have a Solar Loan with Wheelhouse. Every time you refinance your home, they will require a $300 Subordination Fee. Our last Refi which started in February of 2021, I paid $350 to Wheelhouse for Subordination. $300 Fee and $50 Rush Fee. They were two weeks late with my paperwork which resulted in extra loan fees and they never refunded my rush fee. Took them a total of 24 days to get my paperwork to escrow. Not a fan of Wheelhouse Credit Union.

If there was more than a 5 star rating I would give it to this young man Cheger Saleh. I am not the easiest person to work with. He was so patient and kind. I had to put the phone down a couple of times to find the information he need to help me. He patiently waited while I tore apart my office looking for the info. He also went the extra mile and walked me through the area that allows me to transfer money to another financial institution, which I might say is a little tricky. At my age I will pay extra for good customer service. Thank you, Cheger.

Update: Apparently the call taker did not give me proper information. The bank reached out and is facilitating the loan transfer. Thanks to Anthony for reaching out! Found out today this bank does not allow transfers of solar loans. There is no reason for them to not allow this. Especially in this market where people are having to move for one reason or another. The call taker didnt offer any solution other than "...You'll just have to pay it off..." Thanks a lot! Wheelhouse needs to review this practice and change it asap. I will never use this bank again.
