If it's a hotel, then it's only a 3 star, not what I've seen online of 4 star from reviews. The amenities are limited - no restaurant on-site - walk was 10 minutes to any restaurants other than McDonald's; room was fine, they don't make up rooms - only if you've stayed 5 days or longer; elevator is noisy, nice roof top, no pool or hot tub. Service at front desk and front door was good though.

Front desk spoiled the mood.... all good till then. New... charge for parking... we are owners, not just guests at Hilton... why add more pain to already hard to book nights at properties already sold to cash paying customers when we pay a hefty maintenance premium in addition to the not worth Timeshare... then get tortured with calls to the room to join a one more useless presentation that will shorten the vacation.... common now! A small coke here is $4+ ... at gas station across the street $2.69+ tax

The units are great, but don't leave for a walk unless you don't mind stepping over all of the homeless people sleeping/wasted on the surrounding sidewalks.

This place this place...I would never book here ever again. People are friendly, but man this place is so old that you can hear a dude sneeze across the street. Kept waking up in the middle of the night cause of planes, cars, and motorcycles passing by, not to mention next doors. Also, the valet parking...I kinda get it, cause their parking is so small, but be prepared to pay $20+tips per night for a person (they were nice, tho) to park your vehicle 25 feet away from the entrance. The idea of someone else sitting behind the steering wheel of our car is not the most ideal. Our car was damaged on the passenger side with some significant dents and deep scratches, but it could be from somewhere else. But just the idea of someone else drove our car and the damages that appeared out of nowhere is driving me up the wall. Location is pretty ok, Balboa park is right there for you to enjoy, but you have to drive out to the beach, which is not too crazy far.

I'm a Worldmark member, usually staying at Inn At The Park when in San Diego and Windsor in Northern California, both which are very nice. I stay 3-4 nights, enjoying the work-cation.I won't stay at this location again. I stayed here in 2005 before Worldmark bought it so I knew the layout and style, very eclectic and a roof terrace. While staff was good and building well maintained, as someone who needs a walk-in shower I'll never stay here again, and I recommend anyone handicapped not to either.Only 1 ADA compliant room (or what they call ADA Compliant) in the whole building (it's a Studio) and its windows are on ground level (people walking by turned their heads and looked directly into the room), so I couldn't open the drapes and at night I worried that the windows could be pried open. The windows are so deep in the frames that it was hard to stand/lean in to be sure they were locked. I'm from Los Angeles, so it's not that I'm paranoid.I can compare this room to rooms at Inn At The Park and Windsor. Inn at The Park has walk-in showers in all rooms, and both aren't on the same level as people's heads on public streets. And their ADA rooms are away from the street. All the kitchen cabinets were up too high for someone in a wheelchair or who couldn't stand up and stretch to reach. The one outlet (to plug in the coffee maker and toaster) and the electric range dials are too far back and impossible for anyone in a wheelchair to reach. Someone in a wheelchair couldn't reach the freezer either. The small rectangular 2-chair table for dining was pushed against and faced the windows which as I said above couldn't be opened as people were walking by and their faces were the same level as me seating to eat. Oh, and the McDonald's was right across the street. The bed was nicely low and firm, but no dresser to empty out my suitcase nor luggage rack to put it on, so I left it open on the couch. When I asked the front desk how to turn the closed caption on the TV they said no one knew how to, and were themselves surprised that an ADA room couldn't accommodate a hard of hearing or deaf person. BTW I clicked all the remote's buttons as I turn on CC when at home. So I had to turn on the morning news VERY LOUD, hope I didn't piss off the neighbors, and watched streaming on my laptop at night.

A great worldmark! Loved the location, the staff, the rooftop deck. Everything outside of the toilet paper was prefect and that's a general worldmark issue. We're coming back for sure and doing it all over again!Rooms: Great rooms!Walkability: We walked the entire city during our stay and loved how close balboa park was.

Expensive to park. Nice old building. Elevator is noisy and a little scary and if you get a room next to the elevator you will never sleep. As usual everyone was very nice. Great location right downtown!

You probably can't find a place to stay any closer to Balboa Park, room was comfortable and kitchenette was a nice perk (too badI didn't know they had them or would have brought groceries).Unfortunately the windows were not good dual pane types andI woke up at 6:30 AM every morning from the traffic noise a fewfeet away including people honking their horns - evidentlybecause the traffic lights were too long for their liking. So much for sleeping in on vacation. The parking situation here sucks; everything is pay parking(unless you are very lucky and find unregulated street parkingnearby) for around 20 to 30 bucks a night (ouch). In no way isthe parking lot on the property adequate to serve the lodgers;maybe one floor. Not a complaint of the lodging but, used GPS to find the placeand it took me a few blocks away and stopped working (???) -fortunately I looked at a map beforehand so had a rough ideawhere I needed to go but, it took twice as long to get there from that point with all the one-way streets (and lots of lights). There was a lot of cool things to see like museums, art and sucha mile North of the place, probably a couple of days worth to see it all.

I recently stayed at Worldmark San Diego - Balboa Park. I was greeted by a very friendly and professional valet Fatima. It got better with the front desk Elise, so friendly and helpful. Then off to Carlos with important information of the area and activities. The room was spacious, clean and the beds super comfy. The best part as a solo traveler, I would stop by the concierge desk and get ideas of what to do and where to eat with Jaime Slater ( my new best buddy)....he was so helpful with member owner information. Everyday he would ask "what did you do today?" and genuinely wanted to know. It was fun relaying the days activities and recommending places for future guests. The staff here made my solo vacation wonderful and I for sure will be back very soon!

I enjoyed his positive attitude.Nearby activities: Downtown San Diego, Balboa Park, and Little ItalyWalkability: With a good pair of walking shoes, you can see most of San Diego in a day.

It was a wonderful place to stay It had a rooftop view but no swimming pool. The beach was 20 minutes away, The staff was very friendly and helpful they gave us recommendations of places to visit that were close by.Nearby activities: Places to go that were not far from the resort.
