The roasted beans are great for those who have their espresso setups and are looking to pull well-balanced and well-rounded shots.

For many, many years we considered this the best coffee shop in San Diego. But a few months ago the blend seemed to change from the traditional hummingbird to something not as creamy. It now lacks depth. I hope they will consider going back to the original blend as it was truly something spectacular.

They don't accept cash, they never have coffee 1 hour before closing.

The coffee here rivals anything I get in NYC, Montreal, Vancouver and other cities across the country. The service is great and the pastries too. Our favorite is the hamentaschen pastry. When my daughter had to come home from college during Covid we sat outside when we needed an escape from the suffocating atmosphere of being home all the time. She took her sketchbook and drew a picture of the setting of us sitting underneath the 805/5 freeway, with the Coaster train in the background. It was kind of a depressing scene, but suited the "times". We joked that the location is so bad, it was good! No question, the coffee and pastries and service compensate for the weird location.

I have been all over the country. You can count on that everywhere I go I try the coffee. This coffee shop is definitely top 2 for me in the whole country! San Diego is a big city, and out of all things I have only 2 must stop by places. This coffee shop and Torrey pines trails.

The coffee was pretty tasty. The music played in the cafe was very good, Spanish lyrics and Latin styles created a relaxed atmosphere. The music reflected flavors of the coffee and baked treats.Parking: Odd entrance to the site and there is limited parking. The lot is not overly small but it is one lot for a few storefronts.

Other than the strange location, busted up road, tiny parking lot, and train traffic, this place is awesome! They roast the beans at this location which is huge for me, and they actually know how to roast. It’s like fresh bread, just bc you have an oven doesn’t mean you can make bread. Yet they do know how to pull an espresso, so I approve. I just feel like they are just waiting for a prime lease to open up in LJ or Del Mar to let the world know they’ve arrived.

Great coffee. The service was friendly, and I received a quick red eye. I picked up a bag of the Ethiopian Dinkinesh Hirbaye, which has notes of peach, spice, and strawberry. I also had their vegan morning glory muffin, which was moist, dense, and delicious!

This is my favorite coffee place, when I drop of my wife to work I always stop by to get me cup of mocha or a latte and a croissant or other pastry, my daughter loves their almond croissant while I like chocolate. Plus I know that their coffee is freshly roasted because you can see them roasting it at the back and the selection of roasted coffee is great. The service is quick and if you are in a hurry unless there's a lot of people you will be in and out fast and they always have at least two people in the counter but most of the time there's three of them to take care of other concerns while the barista is busy making coffee and the cashier is busy getting the order. It's a very simple set up just a few selections to choose from so it won't take you long to choose what you want same with the pastries. 2 table inside and more outside so it's not crowded even if you are waiting inside. You can watch the barista make your coffee or the roaster roasting coffee while waiting and read the bags of coffee in the shelves and read where the coffee beans came from and what flavor you will taste if you decides to get some roasted coffee beans.
