Employees are friendly , visited the store again Wednesday January 31st about 3ish went to buy fresh mushrooms and a white onion, the mushrooms were pretty much black and spongy so I didn't purchase them , the white onions were looking pretty bad but I managed to find a decent one! The produce smelled like always! The lines were long 2 check stands open and calls were made for back up checkers! To some time for one to come! I came out of the grocery industry and found not an ounce of urgency! A manager was stocking shelves! While I know the importance of stocking, that should be night crews job! The mgr should have stopped what he was doing and opened up or he should have called for back up! Who is the DM for that store? I wasn't the only one passing up on the produce.

The cashier was flippant, didn't put forth any effort to assist with a pricing question I had. He placed my hostess'items in the same bag heavy drinks. I was not happy at all with his performance, manners or attitude.

Great fresh veggies, and surprisingly decent choices of vegan cheese. Great place for rice, beans, and mass frozen foods.

Two weekends ago, my dear friend & her family plus my eldest daughter & I enjoyed a delicious All-You-Can-Eat (AYCE) sushi dinner at Show Sushi in San Dimas. Afterwards, I suggested we get some ice cream from Rite-Aid. Hey, just because we had AYCE doesn't mean we can't have ice cream LOL. Well, it turned out Rite-Aid is no longer in business at that plaza... bummer, I used to go to that Rite-Aid to fill my prescriptions when I used to work in San Dimas. There was a sense of sadness as I had a nostalgic moment. I didn't tear, but if I thought long enough, I may have teared... it's just sensitive me. Anyway, we walked down the plaza and saw Smart & Final Extra. I said let's check it out... they may sell ice cream. Wowza, I did not know it is like a miniature Wal-Mart. It has changed a lot since the last time I step foot into a Smart & Final or maybe this one is different since it has Extra in its name... who knows. Nevertheless, glad to have them here. I walked around and finally arrived at the freezer section, and found my ice cream. Yay! Since we had a heavy dinner, we wanted something very light and small... Haagen-Dazs mini caught my eyes... BINGO! My friend got some avocados and we were on our way to the cash register. Staff was okay not too smiley. Prices for ice cream and avocados were reasonable. I have to say it is a cozy and quaint place. I may have to visit Smart & Final more often for some of my shopping needs. Stater Brothers may have some competition since that's where I normally shop for my fruits and vegetables LOL. Anyway, thank you Smart & Final Extra for your presence when we needed a little something sweet after an AYCE sushi!

Not my usual Smart & Final, however it’s just as nice, big and carry’s all that I need. Very organized, economical and everyone there was very friendly.
