I visited this store on Wednesday, the 26th, around 1 PM to purchase stainless steel cookware and a matching roasting rack. Unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. While I was browsing, a sales associate approached me in a very unpleasant manner—he didn’t even say hello. Instead, he seemed irritated and told me that I shouldn’t move items to check prices, and that the prices were on the other side.
To add to that, there were at least three employees on the floor, two behind the register, and none of them were helping customers in a courteous way. It left me wondering what they’re even getting paid for if they’re not assisting shoppers respectfully.
In short, it was the worst shopping experience I’ve had in a long time, and I definitely won’t be returning. It’s a shame because I was ready to buy, but the staff’s rudeness made it impossible to feel welcome.

Usually I get great customer service and never had a problem. Last two times I went in to get keys, the African American man was rude, condensing and gave so much attitude! Everyone else is nice, he should learn.

I come in here from time to time and the service is always mixed. The black dude is especially non friendly and I'm always made to feel uncomfortable here..Looks like I will be heading to Lowes or Nob Hill Hardware for my future purchases.

Ordered online for pickup, first time shopping at that store and will probably be my last. I was hoping to save time since I had family visiting from out of state. Nope. Guy had me waiting almost 20 minutes while he called his boss and asked them how to do his job.

Very nice and helpful staff. The store is on the smaller side but has all the hardware store essentials plus some. The prices are average, and the location is a lot more convenient.

If you love hardware stores as much as I do and find yourself at Brownies on Polk Street, be sure to avoid the grumpy old man wandering the aisles. Everyone else in the store was great, but not this guy. He approached me to ask if I needed help, but he only managed to annoy me with his, “Huh? What? Huh? What?” responses each time I asked him something. If you truly do not want to help customers, then stay off the floor. The old man changed his tune when I told him I wanted to purchase their $100 dust buster, but it was too late. The damage had already been done. I no longer wished to look around the store. I just wanted to pay for my purchase and get out of that place. The fake niceties from the grumpy old man while I was at the cashier were absolutely pathetic. I won’t be coming back to this hardware store, but if you decide to go, stay vigilant. Good luck.

Shopping in the city has gone downhill for a while but today when I asked to look closer at the item I asked dude to unlock I was treated like i was a criminal for asking to handle the item. I guess it's a Big Ask to look at what you're buying first. If I can't browse I may as well shop online.
