The Avis/Budget counter is situated inside the ground floor of the Hyatt hotel so walk through the entrance to find it. They also have a restroom close to the counter (if you need to use one).The Valet will bring the car during pickup and take the keys from you during drop-off.Depending upon the day of the week and the time.of the day, there might be busy traffic around the valet area. This means there's little time to go through the pick-up rituals like adjusting the seat and mirrors, taking pictures, checking the hood, etc.. So I suggest quickly driving off and finding street parking nearby to spend time doing these rituals.Same thing during drop-off. Make sure all the pre-dropoff rituals are completed so that you just have to exit the car and handover the keys to the valet instead of spending time at the valet area.

Great service! Easy pick up and drop off. Got upgraded a vehicle because the one we reserved wasn't available. Rented for 8 days, but was able to easily extend the reservation 4 more days.

Don't rent Avis. They rented us a broken car, which stopped starting, leaving us on the street for hours and no one helped us. You will only waste your time on complaints. It is a scam that they give you a car in poor condition and you have to pay for it plus the excursions that you lose plus the hotel plus the tickets. Nothing compensates for the bad time they make you spend waiting and waiting for nothing. The supervisor Glenda, on the way back from the airport, gives you a worse time by threatening to call security when asking her to do her customer services job. Only the girl from the Esmeralda road service tried to help, although it was of no use. I would upload the videos too... a disaster of bad avis budget

Terrible service, Arrogant staff. Please steer clear of this place if possible.The staff here is just the worst. They feel entitled for no reason, they take super long to process a pre booked reservation, they do what they wish with car allocation and if we raise any issues and concerns they direct us to “corporate”. They lack basic customer service etiquettes, are utterly dismissive of any concerns me or anyone else raises.Every-time I’ve been here, there is always a disappointed customer fighting and the staff being rude and dismissive.I would strongly advise others to steer clear of this place and report here and other places so they are reprimanded.

Waited in line for 30+ minutes with 3 people in front of me, and one person was working. She was helping someone fill out a complaint form because they did not record damage to the car when they picked it up. While she was helping she was sitting there waiting for the customer to fill out their paperwork. She refused to help people while the customer was doing that. When I asked if someone else could help us waiting people, she told me to go to another SF location of I did not want to wait. Incredibly rude, does not want to help others, and was a really long experience which is unnecessary, especially for someone with presidents club status.

I recently booked a 1day rental at this Avis and returned it that evening. The next day I was charged with additional $40 + $4.14 tax called “Misc Charges”. When I called Avis customer support they said the reasoning behind it is “Air conditioning”. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? What a scam. This not only caused a headache, but Avis has lost 3 customers forever.TL;DR this AVIS charged me $40 misc charge for Air Conditioning use. Renters beware they scam you for more money.

It’s the second time we use this location. since the hispanic guy with a beard( sorry to call him that but I don’t know his name)is really unfriendly.Last time he tried to charge us the second driver. At least maybe ask us about it.This time we booked a convertible which was parked in front of the hotel. We came earlier and he told us the car wasn’t ready yet and if we want to have it early he is gonna charge us one day more….(we use AVIS a lot and usually if we come earlier we just have to return the car earlier.)The sum was also huge compared to our reservation.So we waited and the convertible we got was exactly the same one we saw when we arrived earlier on the premise.At this time a lady explained us everything because we were a little bit angry about that.The guy never explained us anything, he is always on his phone,always try to charge us more than needed. 2ond time we have trouble with this employee

Very dirty car nobody cares, took plenty pictures in case I was blamed. Don't buy the toll pass they offer its a scam only 1 toll in the area drove from san Francisco to Portland Oregon only passed 1 toll was told would be lots of tolls at the desk biggest waste of money $15 a day . The pot smelling guy at the desk will give you the smallest car available just let the air out of the only way to get a decent car theretire outside when you see it and go back in for a proper car same price

1. I have received a dirty car - no problem.But now, 2 weeks later I received a letter with "you have not clean the car" and $125 were deducted from my credit card- cheeky.2. Furthermore two weeks later, $116 were debited from my credit card without any reason - fraud!My advice: don't rent a car from Avis US!

I was also charged extra without explanation for what. I will never use Avis again. They responded here and asked to send an email with the details and I did not receive any response after that. The responses here are just window dressing.

If renting from the San Francisco Hyatt hotel office be prepared to wait I have had several rentals from them and they are ALWAYS late or closing early which forces you to pay extra to the hotel for car parking. This time around the car was also extremely dirty and looked liked it hadn’t been wash ever!!!

Massive lines, no staff = excessive wait time for simple collection. A single person dealing with everyone and answering phones. You can expect a 30-45 minute wait for collection of a pre-made booking.
