A great place to support local authors and local bookstores. A great selection of books and I love the handwritten notes from staff recommending different books — Robert is particularly vocal!!Such a lovely friendly store and you can’t beat the view of the bay bridge and Alcatraz from the windows!A great place to indulge in reading and nice you have your next book chosen you have a million places to get coffee and a delicious local pastry to enjoy your first read. Read with a view if the bay and make your day so much better!

I went to an author event at Book Passage last week - I had never been there before. The staff were very kind and helpful and had the space well organized. It is great to experience meeting authors and having lovely dialogue!

If you’re Jewish, I’d avoid this book store. They cancelled Jewish authors book signings simply because they’re Jewish. This place is antisemitic. Avoid.

Shameful excuse for a bookstore. Limiting freedom of speech in of all places a book store/ Caving to the ridiculous extremes in your midst.

A lovely small bookstore that's been curated by people who know and love books. This is not your chain bookstore that has stacks of the newest glossy hardback by James Patterson! Sure there are current editions of bestsellers, but there are also eclectic selections. I visit bookstores wherever I travel, and this one, though on the small side, is one I'll return to when in SF again.

I have attended two events at Book Passage so far and both experiences have been great!! They are just so organized and the line moves quickly. There are so many great restaurants and shops nearby and you have a great view of the bay bridge. You cannot go wrong with this bookstore!

Book Passage is a true hidden gem for book lovers! Tucked deep within the Ferry Building, this bookstore offers an exceptional experience. The location is perfect, nestled comfortably near Red Bay Coffee, with stunning views of the ocean and the Bay Bridge. It's a serene escape from the bustling city. What sets Book Passage apart is its extensive collection of books. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted with a display of bestsellers. The range of genres and topics is impressive; you're sure to find something that piques your interest. One delightful touch is the handwritten notes from the staff scattered throughout the bookstore. These recommendations add a personal touch and guide you to some hidden literary treasures. After you've found your perfect read, there's a cozy seating area where you can unwind. The availability of Red Bay Coffee's Wi-Fi makes it a fantastic spot to sip a latte, read your newly acquired book, and take in the mesmerizing ocean view. In terms of pricing, Book Passage is decently priced for what it offers. While it primarily stocks new books, the quality and variety justify the cost. What's worth mentioning is that this place isn't a tourist trap. It's a haven for book enthusiasts and locals alike. So, whether you're a resident or just passing through, make sure to pay a visit to Book Passage. You won't be disappointed!
