They will over price you way over what you need to pay they offered me 250$ just for the inspection which can be done anywhere else for free sometimes , they charge to much for their hourly labor and they're rude and old just trying to scam you out as much money as they can for their own selfish reasons , I recommend any other place , you can get away with 250$ charge on inspection if the shop was up to date with the latest technology and full of life workers . When it reality its 70 year old men at the youngest working in a dirty broken down little shed with nothing but dirt and filth and shame ,

It was the only place I could find that was open when my car battery and alternator both suddenly died and needed replacing. I needed somewhere that would confirm the issue, fix it quickly, and not rip me off... My expectations were greatly exceeded. They not only did the job well for a good price, but the staff were exceptionally polite and a pleasure to communicate with. It's not often that you can immediately feel the kindness of a stranger, especially over the phone. They were great in person too. Thank you Ray & crew!Service: Battery

I’ve been a customer for about 8 years. Service is fantastic. Ray and his team have bailed me out many times. They were great with my old VW, and now work on my Toyota. They always show me the old parts and take the time to explain their findings and possible repair options. An extremely honest, knowledgeable and kind team. The turnaround time on service has always been excellent and well-communicated. I never write reviews, but these guys are fantastic and paying nice people for their work takes some of the sting out of big repair jobs.

Ray is a vintage car wizard! Reasonable prices and specialized knowledge of vintage cars makes this shop a go to place for your vintage vehicle. Ray recently rebuilt my fuel system on my 68 Ford Bronco and did an amazing job, starts and runs like a tiger.

Ladies and gentlemen, from now on I told you I had an emergency, they scammed me by charging me more than 1000 dollars for some censors that I later discovered that they only cost e. 75 and 120 each and they only changed me two ... they told me that it would take a few days when a surprise day comes I found one of them sleeping ... please think about it before spending your money on this workshop that they only take advantage of from people who don't know about cars

These people are amazing. I have taken two cars here for major body work and I couldn't be happier with the service and outcome. I feel that they are honest and fair and helpful!! Michael is super professional and kind. So nice to have a trustworthy group so close to home.

I took my cars to this shop for years after it was recommended by a former mechanic who lived in my building when I first moved to the area. "Don't take your car anywhere else," he said. "C&H is always trustworthy and honest." And he was right! It has been a few years, but they were always so friendly and helpful and straight-forward about everything. The prices were unbeatable. They take the time to educate the customer about car maintenance, explaining what the issue is and how the repair works. They're completely transparent about everything. They'll pop the hood and point out all the relevant parts, showing you exactly what's going on. If your budget is tight, they try to work with you. And the turn-around time is amazing. When I had time constraints, they went out of their way to get everything ready when I needed it. They get to know their regular customers and treat you like family. A rare find, and worth the trip to SF from other parts of the Bay.

Ray and the guys at C & H are the best! They are excellent diagnosticians, work so fast and are super nice. Not only did they pinpoint and solve the vacuum leaks causing my fast idle, they made constructive recommendations for other areas that needed work. Thanks to them, my throttle linkage is no longer getting caught up on my air cleaner. If you have a car that needs work, you should bring it here. If you have a Classic Car, this is the only place to bring your car!

Ray at C&H Auto Repair (415-) 863-9705 has rescued my 1999 Jetta three different times, now, his shop is at 3264 17th St. SF CA 94110. He is fair, honest, very helpful and I have had major work done on my water pump, radiator, clutch, my front suspension, other engine work, and brakes and even tires. I feel so indebted to him as he has saved me from dangerous situations (warning: - don't take your car to any local tire shop (no names) and ask them to do your brakes, learn from my mistake!) Ray is a VW expert, has been working on them for 30 years and knows all the quirky VW stuff. I am sorry to say I have no-one in the Richmond neighborhood, but even though he's 20 mins away, in the Mission, please consider using his services if you value your life and your car and your wallet.

This review is long due. I owned a BMW 8 months ago which had just got past the 6 year extended warranty and maintenance. The last service I had in BMW of SF was abyssymmal. They charged me $1200 in December 2016 for regular service when there was no issue in the car. So I decided to find a shop where they do only what is needed and at a fair price. C&H exceeded my expectations. I was skeptical about the look and feel of the shop. However coming from India, one thing for sure is you can't judge a place by looks alone. Ray explained why my engine lights were on and walked me through what needs to be changed. He also explained that there could be future service coming in 6-7 months time but nothing to worry about as of today. I have only met car mechanics who use jargons to make it sound like there is real trouble with the car. Ray has been a breathe of fresh air. He got my car repaired for $400 while BMW SF quoted $1100. I went back with my husband's Honda which had a lose connection in backup camera. While Honda showroom suggested to replace the entire camera for $800 Ray fixed the lose connection for $200 and in the past 8 months, the car has not had any trouble. Highly recommend this shop!
