I have been shopping at Cole (Fox) Hardware for decades. For such a small space, they have lots of common and hard to find hardware and household needs. Just yesterday, I needed a tension camp hook for some gear I wanted to modify. I couldn't remember the name of the item, so started at their carabiner selection. I realized I could use a couple of steel carabiners, but the staff figured out what I was looking for and directed me downstairs. I ended up getting 3 tension clamps as well. All the items are well made. Honestly, this is one of the best staffed stores in the area. They really do value customer service.

ACE associates went out of their way to first understand my needs and then suggest some solutions. Didn’t just try to ‘oh this is our best seller’ . Much appreciated!

I’ve been here a handful of times and I always have a great experience. It reminds me of a mom-and-pop that you grew up with but somehow it’s in the middle of the most touristy place. The staff are so welcoming upon arrival and always helpful. I don’t get this feeling when I’m in a bigger chain store. Special shout-out to Spencer for taking his time to help me and explain the difference between the products.

Very convenient location on 4th Street just before mission. This Ace Hardware store has all you need for home repairs.They have the lower level and also carry lots of home and personal needs for travelers. A a bit on the pricey side. However the conveniences is worth it. ???

The people there were attentive without feeling like one was monitoring you. Before leaving because I couldn't find what I was looking for I was stopped by a staff and he genuinely asked if I found everything I was looking for. My response was no and I went into detail what I was looking for. Afterward, he told me a relatable story and helped me find what I was looking for and it was much, much cheaper than buying it through Amazon. Rex, you are awesome and I greatly appreciate the relevant story and your assistance.

Best hardware store in the city. Well-stocked. Extremely efficient and knowledgeable staff. I suspect that they attend the entrance carefully due to some of the questionable characters that wander this neighborhood, but it also results in them promptly guiding customers to exactly what they need. I’m always in-and-out within minutes.

I'm very happy that Coles Hardware has not left my neighborhood like everything else seems to have lately. The staff, as usual, is very knowledgeable and helpful and has quite a selection of products! I was looking for a solution to unclog my older bathroom drain. Spencer assisted me in all the possible solutions and walked through each of the products that might apply as the standard sized auger I have would not work. He was efficient, to the point and I didn't feel rushed even though other customers started to want his attention.
