Small room with low lights, purely classical music in the background (Pavarotti is at the top) but definitely suitable even if not preferred which together with the whispering coming from the nearby tables creates a unique atmosphere. The cuisine is not bad at all, if you manage to take a seat at the tables near the windows you can observe Hyde St. with few people going up and down, and at the same time looking at yourself in the mirror sitting at the table with your bottle of wine, perhaps even in good company and a small candle to keep this magical evening lit!!! ......Personal advice, the small restaurant is located right under the Nob Hill Hotel, it's not the best, a bit baroque retro style, but after a bottle of wine and a few sweets accompanied by liqueur it will save you from having to travel the distance ........and what streets in San Francisco!!!!Have a good tripNick.

Coming from an Italian home, I loved every bit of this place. The food was delicious, traditional food with perfect flavour. Its a small space with a handful of tables. The gentleman taking our order also cooked the food. Its a little longer of a wait for the food but for the simple reason that its all fresh ingredients and made from scratch. If you're into fusion style restaurants with a team of staff that pump out dinner plates in minutes, this place isnt for you. This is dinner at your Nonnos. Sometimes they have what you want sometimes they dont. But you know what youre going to eat is going to be so yum! When you're owned and soley operated, theres a juggle to do it all. He had one person assisting who was friendly, as well. I am definitely comin back!

Food was OK, nothing more. Service v slow & only 2 other people in that evening.Sat next to a window & the sill was dirty with hair & broken glass on it.Shame as it could easily be so much better.

I tried to order a pizza to go but the owner or chef just “didn’t want to make it as he had already put away the ingredients”. Awful demeanour too.

OrderedRisotto Con Scampi E' Aragosta$23.00Fresh Prawns & bay shrimp Prepared with Butter, Lobster Base, and Creamy RisottoDid not receive prawns nor shrimp. It was not a lobster base , it was pesto with chicken. Allergies to chicken. I went in and was told I had to pick up my food outside. Went outside, no one was there. When the person who was working outside ( where I had previously came from) by another man who came outside and handed me a bag, then verified my name, and hurried me off.

Idk.. yeah, the food was good but…Confusion about our reservation made for an awkward start, service was slow and a little awkward, they only had two kinds of wine (and not the one I wanted), and once we finally ordered, they eventually came back to say that EVERYTHING on the menu was sold out except the Bolognese… so everyone in our party ended up with bolognese. Which was exceptionally good, but still…This was 7pm on Friday night. It took about two hours total from start to finish.. and other tables were there equally as long or longer. I’m not opposed to a nice slow meal, but along with the other strike, it was more of an annoyance.Overall, it was good, but I’m not sure I’d go back in a city with this many options.

A cute, cozy spot that makes you feel like you’re in Italy. The food tastes homemade with good portion sizes. Owner was friendly too!

We went for our anniversary. The restaurant is TINY- about 6 tables which was cute but unexpected. My meal was delicious- but my boyfriend's meal honestly tasted like soap :( the cheesy bread was amazing and the Gorgonzola pasta was wonderful. But the carbonara tasted soapy :(

The food was excellent here. It was a small and cozy place that had great ambience- minus the Santacon drunkies that were slightly loud behind us. Lol. My daughter's pasta pomodoro was silky and perfect, my husband's cioppino was plentiful with lots of fresh seafood, and my pork tenderloin was probably the best I've had in years. Thanks so much to Colombini for honoring our 6pm reservation after showed up late as a result of extraordinary bridge traffic. Will definitely recommend.

Cozy small restaurant walking distance to the Masonic Auditorium. We were a party of 4 and ordered different meals which we shared. Every meal was delicious! We will definitely return! If OpenTable limits the number of guests, call the restaurant and Ray the owner will do his best to accommodate your request.

An intimate Italian restaurant. Authentic flavors, fresh pasta, great wine pairings. The host was warm and welcoming, his suggested dishes were fabulous! Will tell everyone to get a reservation and enjoy a relaxing, intimate meal. The pasta was fresh and perfectly prepared; sauces were flavorful. A very satisfying meal, we will return often.

Im surprised and bummed to see this place with low(ish) ratings on Yelp because I thought Colombini was AMAZING. We just moved into the neighborhood and decided to stop by for dinner - everything was so delicious and extremely reasonably priced for SF. We got the rigatoni bolognese (10/10) and the sausage and meatball pizza (12/10) The service was great, excellent food, and lovely intimate ambiance. Seriously already looking forward to coming back! - @discoveroverthere
