Banking is really dead! This location has been closed for a really long time. Making it so inconvenient to do business in my neighborhood. I have to drive across town to handle business. When I complained they didn't apologize. When I asked when it would reopen they said we don't know.

I"m only speaking on my experience w/ Union Street bank manager Christian Dean, whom I've been consulting w/ on the topics of PPPs since March 2020! Christian and her diverse team is resourceful and go above and beyond to help, even I'm not a Comerica Bank customer. I highly recommend reaching out to Christian personally for your banking and financial needs.

My experience with Christian has shown that she is up to speed with all of the current iterations of the PPP program and would be ideal for anyone either having trouble with the process or even if you just need a helping hand. Highly recommended.

Christian Dean-Jessie, the Banking Center Manager and Assistant Vice President at Comerica Bank, 2001 Union Street, San Francisco is the banker any business person dreams about. She has answers at her fingertips for guiding a client through the details of the Pandemic related loans, to securing business loans, and excellent financial counsel through these turbulent covid times. My relationship with Comerica Bank is just beginning and I'm looking forward to the years ahead doing business with the bank and Christian Dean-Jessie. ~Kate Jones Union Street business owner

I am professionally acquainted with Christian Dean-Jesse and with several of the bankers at the Union Street, San Francisco Comerica Bank. I have been consistently impressed by the merger of personal, community focused banking with high competence and cutting edge financial information. All the bankers at the Union Street branch seem to embody the philosophy that treating customers as neighbors is the best way to do business. I would wholeheartedly recommend Comerica Bank to anyone looking for customer service and high professionalism.

I agree with another yelper here who said it's probably the worst banking experience ever. They were awful, even more heartless and inept than Bank of America and that's saying plenty. I opened a second banking and savings account with them, mainly because I needed a safe deposit box for papers. Needless to say, anytime that I needed to withdrawal cash from the account, I had to go to a Comerica ATM or else I would be charged. On top of that, if I wanted a receipt at the end of the transaction on their own ATM, I would be charged $1. SERIOUSLY?! Throughout the two years that I banked with them, they were the only bank to ever question whether or not I was the true owner of my account. Every single time I physically went to that branch to make a withdrawal, they always brought out the manager because my signatures didn't match. Granted, I had my drivers license and multiple other forms (besides dictating my ssn) so there was beyond proof that I am who I say I am. In other words, what should take me 5 minutes, ended up always taking at least 20 minutes. In addition, they would never allow me to have more than one signature on file, so again, if your signature doesn't match, then good freaking luck. After all the hassle, I finally decided to go in person and close the account. I went to pay my balance for the account and box to close it. I told not only the teller but also the rep who I spoke with that I wanted to close my account. The rep at this specific branch then told me to write a check from my main bank account at my credit union to pay the fee for the box. He then gave me a receipt and I asked if he had closed my account. His answer was yes and that in 2 business days I would be able to see it online. This was not the case at all. I had to call the bank from home to find out that nothing had been done from that branch at all to close either my savings nor my checking account. I was livid. I still am, how the heck can you trust a bank when you ask them to close an account and that never gets accomplished? Move on- here in the city there are many other better options for banking and obtaining loans. Never, ever again.

Terrible place to bank. I wouldn't spend a dime on them. All around bad experience. I had been a customer for years and they have continued to drop the ball. I am going elsewhere.

Probably the worst online banking I've ever experienced. I have a HELOC with Comerica and it's given me the pleasure of knowing what it must have been like to bank in the late 19th century. You can not get your account history (basic transaction history!) online. If you need to reconcile your account you must call in, get transferred twice, call a separate phone number, provide your social and give your drivers license number. THEN they will only mail you the account history with this special request which takes 2 weeks to process. WTF?! Our mortgage lender recommended them for the HELOC. They must be getting serious kick backs for the referrals. Boo! Don't get a HELOC although their checking online is pretty bad too but at least you can see transaction history.

In one word, inept. I have never had so much trouble with my banking. The customer service gal can't seem to get a signature card issue straight. Constant calls for her mistakes. Closing accounts...I need professionalism; not ineptitude.

Pleasant (the only reason for any stars) but unempowered management. It's nice that they're nice, but after having been bumped around by Customer Service, that mis-directed me to another branch, where I had to wait in line (though there were no crowds), that then said they couldn't do anything, that then pointed me to this branch, who were also nice but unable to help, my patience was used up. How is closing a bank account THAT hard? (Yes, we know why.) And, I could get fees for having no money in the account, that continues to compound, that they said they'd then send to collections. Gee, thanks. Merry Christmas. Corporate office, give your branches a little more authority. The bigger banks definitely do that and I had hoped you were more capable.

Some how my boyfriend convinced me into signing up for a credit card with this bank... I suppose he has been a member for years and likes it? Aaron our sales man was very kind, energetic, and helpful. He helped me understand how often I should apply for credit cards (if this application doesn't go through). Even though I had to deposit a minimum of $100 to open up a checking account (to get a credit card that I might not be approved for) I was still treated nicely and had fun. Keep up the great work! Get me that card!!!
