They did a good job but it isn't the friendliest of shops. I think this shop is able to make almost any key and for that it makes it worth the trip. When I called around they were about the same price as any other locksmith. The best think about this business is that they have an actual store that you can go to. I would recommend it.

I highly recommend Crown. Beyond happy about my experience with this company....this gentleman who came to service our gate lock which kept getting stuck after I would buzz it for folks coming in and then wouldn't lock again. To replace the mechanism it would have cost over $300 and then the labor on top of that. Unfortunately, I forgot the gentleman's name, but he suggested that he could repair instead of replace because the brand of the lock mechanism was top notch (installed by them many years ago) and worth repairing because it still has a lot of use in it. He worked on it for a while to make sure it was a perfect fit again. Cost $160. Money so well spent. These locksmiths are artisans guys. You don't get that quality anymore. We have used this company and their locksmiths since we moved into our home 40 years ago. Will never use someone else!

Cannot say enough good things about Crown Lock! Excellent service, super reasonable prices and they go out of their way to take care of their customers. I had an issue with a sketchy locksmith - called Crown and they sent Miles out to save the day which he did beautifully! I will forever use and recommend this company and am so grateful for their prompt and fabulous help.

This is a true statement. I returned an item an hour after purchasing it. The packaging clearly stated my consumer rights. The owner yelled at me. He threw the defective item on the floor. His employees looked on. Mouths agape. "Give him back his money. You're a fucking asshole. Never set foot in this store (Crown Hardware), again!!" My wife and I are legacy customers. We have done business with previous owners since 1978. Never, again.

To my dismay, I discovered that my ancient and very expensive Baldwin mortice lock on my front door would no longer open from the inside. To get out of my house I had to go through the garage and open the front door with a key from the outside! I was panicked at the thought of the cost of repairing this complicated mechanism and fearful of relying on some novice and unknown locksmith and soon exhausted my online search with no obvious candidate. So I removed the lock and to my amazement found a label on it with the name of a venerable and trusted wholesale hardware institution, MacMurray-Pacific, and I immediately knew my search was over. One short phone call to them yielded the dependable recommendation that I needed: Crown Lock. I brought the lock to them they explained the problem and a simple solution and would have not charged me a cent had I not asked them to open it and lubricate all the moving parts, which they did and included fixing a problem that had prevented my usage of the dead-bolt. I was delighted to pay $45 for their deep expertise which allowed me to reinstall the lock the next day with dramatically improved operating results. You can't find this deep knowledge and understanding just anywhere, and these people are devotedly honest and committed to fairness in solving customers' locksmithing problems. I couldn't recommend them more!

I have been I have been in San Francisco for 40 years and have been using Crown Lock Smith. They have a crew of competent locksmith. Very reasonable price and arrive on time. It is a diamond 10 star service. They are also a hardware store located on 3615 Balboa St. The phone number is 415-221-9086. Linda is a very nice Lady who answer the phone most of the time.

The locksmith from Crown was friendly, helpful, and skilled. He took the time to patiently explain why we needed a new doorknob and plate (ours was the original from 1938, with a unique cutout in the door and not repairable or made anymore). Plus, he offered a helpful suggestion about getting the door to stop getting stuck in the door frame. I've been using Crown Locksmith & Safe for over 20 years. They've always been personable, efficient, and professional. I refer them to anyone I know looking for a locksmith.

So, our front door lock froze up (and died) trapping us INSIDE our house- yep! Crown saved us! If that was not enough- they were able to switch out the front door lock with another lock from our basement door. Our doors came with locks from 1995- only labeled "Made in Italy"- it was extra great that Crown was able to work with these obscure locks. All in all, a great experience- being rescued AND not having to try to find a new obscure lock to secure our front door. Thanks so much!
