An old-style, quirky, cluttered little shop that seems to have absolutely everything from a lightbulb to a spoon to a hat. Prices didn’t seem to be too expensive. I bought a lucky cat for $10.99, cheaper than I remember them costing in New York’s Chinatown. The staff were friendly and made sure the cat’s packaging was clean before they gave it to me.

Lots of this and that (very good selection for kitchen needs) at inexpensive prices and- it's just a few doors from the best Cantonese café in the City: New Fortune.

My new usual place to shop at since the other trade company is closed down for earthquake retrofitting. The gentleman had what I needed at a fraction of the price that american stores charge. AND ITS THE SAME PRODUCT!! They have everything from cookware to slippers and get keys made there too! ?♥️

You can get your key copied here for 1 to 2 dollars! They have your classic brass keys and and fun colorful patterned ones. This place saved my life because I had gone to a KeyMe machine to copy a key, and not only did it cost ten times as much but it did not work... Thankfully I stumbled upon Feng Cai by accident. Way faster than KeyMe AND the key worked perfectly (also it was only a dollar!) The owner is very nice and helpful too!

Chinatown is all about practicality and convenience. With my normal hardware store location falling victim to a building remodel, I have to find alternatives in the area to fill my needs. I had a good experience with one closer to North Beach for one purchase. Being in a rush one afternoon, I asked my banker for a suggestion for key making in Chinatown and was directed here. Just two blocks away from the bank, I walked into a deceivingly large store that was pretty packed to the gills with merchandise. I walked up the the counter and asked about making multiple copies of a key and a gentleman took my original and went to the key making station to the right ( Apparently, the gentleman who I presume is one of the owners is the key maker. There are several ladies who man the counter and sales area too. As I waited, I admired their selection of hot water thermos and rice cookers that lined the wall where I waited. There was a steady flow of potential customers walking in and out but the store was never overly crowded. My key, due to being an odd size, cost me a whopping $1.63 to make. What can you buy for that now?! For at least the next few months, this will be my likely stop for simple hardware needs or accessories and definitely for key making. The landmark in finding this store is that it is two or three buildings south of the Chinatown post office. Essential service indeed.

I don't usually shop in this part of Chinatown, but I am glad I came here today. The store is bigger than I expected! I bought a very nice and affordable shoulder bag here for my next trip. This place has a lot of household goods and backpacks and bags. This is a really cool place!
