Amazing museum with everything what’s needed. They have a lot of exhibitions at the same time, great beautiful spaces and professional people working. Collection of the museum is very rich starting from classical works and finishing with contemporary art. What I’d like to highlight is an incredible work of curators because each piece is in its place and working in the setting and idea of the room. Loved the experience.

Place is Nice, But not safe, My car was broken in, and cost me $2300.00 property damage, plus $4000.00 Cash in Euro and CAD & US dollars, and all our canadian passports and Important government IDs and all legal documents, without any help from police, and left us with a lot of frustration and hassle, Not Recommend at all, if you go strongly recommend one of family member stay with your car.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco, and I must say it was an outstanding experience. The new exhibition was absolutely superb, offering a diverse and captivating collection of art that left me in awe. The curation was top-notch, and the variety of artworks on display was impressive. The museum's ambiance and layout provided an enriching and immersive atmosphere for art enthusiasts. I was truly impressed by the depth and quality of the exhibits, making it a must-visit destination for anyone interested in fine art. This museum is a gem in San Francisco, and I can't recommend it enough.

Total embarrassment. Almost nothing here can be considered “fine art”. Tasteless, pretentious and disgusting.

Excellent art collections. Pacific Island, Pacific Northwest and African art collections are extensive. Also have great Mesoamerican artifacts. Can easily spend a day here. The Tower is worth a quick look as well. Cafeteria has ok food and is pricey. Parking in the underground space cost us $21 for just a few hours. Get there early and try to find free parking on the streets around the area, but those spaces are only good for four hours. Park in the underground if you're going to spend the day but be sure to pay at the kiosk before you try to leave.

My husband and I went to see the Kehinde Wiley exhibition and can honestly say it is one of the best shows we have ever seen. The museum itself is phenomenal and has many offerings on every floor. The scale of this particular show was enormous and the lighting spectacularly done. There are plenty of places to sit as a viewer. My only complaint is that the audio tour was difficult to navigate. But this was in no way took away from the show’s sheer brilliance. We also popped down to see the DeYoung Open and while the quality of the work was wonderful it was a bit homogenous in sizing and it would’ve been nice to see some larger pieces given the power of the big works in the Wiley show. I love this gallery and often recommend to friends and family to drop in.

Went to both De Young and Legion of Honor for their special exhibitions - Ansel Adams in Our Time and The Tudors. Great museums with both indoor and outdoor cafes.I would highly recommend joining the membership for unlimited access to permanent collections and special exhibitions ($119/year tax deductible) among other great benefits for members. A great way to support the local art community.

I grew up visiting this place often. It's changed over the years but is still as pretty & fun to visit as ever! It gets very crowded on the weekends. There is so much to do and see! You can't visit San Francisco without a trip to the museums!

My wife and I enjoyed our visit to the Ansil Adams exhibit at the DeYoung Museum today. There are something like 100 Adams photos which are a delight to see. Those photos were also placed in the context of the work of other prominent photographers who worked before or after Adams. You can count on the shows at the DeYoung to always amaze and extend your understanding of art.

The DeYoung is simply the jewel in the Crown of San Francisco. When it is closed...put it on your "Places To Go" List. Multiple curated galleries filled with treasures from all over the world. Underground parking - enter on Fulton Street.

Saw Ramses exhibit twice. Go early for greater access to parking when they open, member Mondays if you can. Metered entrance by reservation but not always easy to predict crowd level. Still a world class museum.

Was great the experience on the Ramses exhibit. The quantity of people inside was a little bit too much. The store is good for kids who love Egypt.
