Easy to find and great to be able to donate books for a good cause. The lady who met me at the donation center, however, was somewhat surly. Not the end of the world but not exactly welcoming.

This review is ONLY IN REGARD TO THE BOOK DONATION LOCATION (17th Street) I have donated book s 2 other times pre pandemic It is no big deal - just go drop the books off- completely NOCUOUS EVENT I went today - followed COVID protocols - booked appointment showed up and the lady who was the volunteer/employee ???? WOW - the way she behaved - you would have thought I had burned her family house down - stole all their money and killed the family dog - it was that level b-t-h I literally said 2 words which was - what is the other door ? because donation protocol changed SO GOING FORWARD will not donate $ to them will not donate books will not recommend F od SFPL to ANYONE EVER I do not expect to be treated nicely - I expect indifference at a minimum but this was some angry person and I want no part of that mess PS - I LOVE BOOKS AND LIBRARIES - books are the great equalizer in life

I had so many books (from my son's old middle school text books to my husband's James Patterson books) to donate since everything is digital and you can read/audio books online now. Because of COVID, they will only take drop off appointments you make online. My wait was about two weeks. On the day of my delivery, I drove up and was greeted by a very nice volunteer. There is a place to park since it's opening is a garage door. There is also a dolly available to use. The worker took everything (well, I had to bring it in for safety reasons) with a smile. I don't feel guilty getting rid of the books (and CDs) because I know they will go to a good place.

Easy to find and drop off books to donate. I tried to call ahead to confirm and didn't get a response but the staff is very responsive in person and like the website says, is available to assist with dropoffs Mon-Fri and then Sat at the stated times. Only regret is it was easy enough to do that I could've done than 3 boxes this time with only a little more effort!
