Why do people support stuff like this? I LOVE PLANTS BUT NOT WHEN IT DISRUPTS RESIDENCE. San Francisco does not need stuff like this there are so many other things money should go towards and its not ripping up the concrete, and planting dumb non native urban trees in DOWNTOWN of all places. I even have photos which I uploaded to the review. First off the trees they plant are perfect places for rats to congregate in. i wonder if these volunteers even live in SF I know they do not so I HIGHLY DOUBT IT. as they would realize how dumb this is.Now they planted a tree in front of my apartment. Not only do people now stand in front of it at all hours of the day since its so close to my window right next to my bed to let their dogs go to urinate. People use it as a restroom for their dogs and other purposes. Tree is rotting away, yellowing. Bark is all over the side walk. People use it as a garbage can and bathroom! Do you think this makes the city prettier? angering residences with noise pollution, and then having it make things uglier! Look at the photo I provided.I love being woken up by people who are entitled and have dogs while I am a struggling student with classes now you have made me not want to live at my home. I wish this tree and this space you guys created get filled in! WHY DID YOU DO THIS? WHY? I do not support this group. THANK YOU FOR THE GARBAGE DUMP AND HORSEFLIES AND BEETLES I AM NOW SUFFERING WITH. Appreciate it. Lived here 5 years never had any problems like this until they installed this tree a few weeks ago. Fill the area back with concrete!

They don’t give away trees , they charge the home owner for it then promise they will come back like once a month to help take care of it but they never did. When we called to for them to help they said we are not responsible for it. So basically they just ask for the money .

California Penal Code 594 PC defines the crime of vandalism as maliciously damaging, destroying or defacing another person's property. Vandalism is a misdemeanor if the amount of the damage is less than $400.00. But the charge can be a felony if the amount is $400.00 or greater. But Friends are still continuing marking up peoples property. And if the property owners do not respond in time they cut a hole in the sidewalk, which is the property owners responsibility to maintain or be fined.

This review highlights follow up after the tree has been planted and also takes in account the responsibility of SF DPW. After years of looking forward to tree planting on our block, we got a few a couple of years ago. Alas, they stopped watering the trees this spring, although no one knew about that... That basically killed any chance these young trees might grow up and provide clean air and shade.... The answer I got was that DPW manages the watering, but no one has been watering these particular trees since March. No one stopped to look at this until I called last week. I can't believe with technology there isn't a way to manage that. Also, there was no information on how these trees would be cared for and by whom. I am so sad because these poor trees are now brittle, super skinny, black and brown... how can you say that you are friends of any forest, with the lack of real future planning, communication, and general stewardship? What a real shame. And now it will take over a year to get replacement trees... I get this is a non profit, yet...instead of planting more trees at this point, I would like to see them focus on the ones already planted.

With free compost from Recology and SF on sand, they don't amend the soil enough. They don't maintain, they should give homeowner more maintenance info... infected with black beetles, they haven't responded

I have volunteered with this great organization three times before, and enjoyed each time more than the last. Their work in urban forestry--and especially in bringing great people from all walks of life together under a positive common cause--is unrivaled by any other organization in any Bay Area city.

It was an interesting experience, the large orange man was weirdly agressive with me. He had me "plant his tree" in an area "close to his house". I can't say I didn't like it. Long live America, long live freedom, long live trees.
