I want to say this is 0 stars just so no one goes here. It’s my favorite candy shop of all time and I drive 2 hours every other month just to get a bag of candy.

I tried this place and the vibe was terrible from the beginning. The woman at the register maybe was having a bad day, maybe?, not sure. She was abrupt when I asked her questions about the candy and seemed to want me out before I even said anything. After buying two small bags of candy, I asked about some licorice that indicated it had an intense flavor. I asked if I could try one (keep in mind, she'd already prepped two bags of other candy that I was buying). She simply said, "we don't normally do that" with an intense abruptness, and then she did it reluctantly. And, it was just okay (stale), but she made such a big deal that I felt compelled to buy a small bag (which I then threw out). Then, when I saw they had chocolate, and asked about one, she just blurted out, "dark or milk?!", clearly irritated. Normally, in a situation with such a bad attitude, I'd just leave, but I believe in supporting small business, even if that small business lacks professionalism and a positive attitude, IF THE QUALITY IS GOOD. I won't be going back, mostly because the quality was below mediocre. That woman's crappy attitude just made it a solid, "no thanks."

This is my fix. Mary is my dealer. giddy is my go to stop if you like candy. Great selection and new stuff regularly. Mary the owner is lovely and always nice to talk to. As a small business owner myself I choose this candy store over “its sugar”.

Well organized store with lots of different selections of candies from various countries (Sweden, Spain, America, etc). It’s definitely pricey though; I paid almost $8 for a very small bag. I enjoyed the flavors though and would revisit.

Super cute candy shop in the Castro! They have a great variety of foreign candies (including Bubs!). Obviously more expensive than your drugstore candy, but really fun to try different things. Many of the candies are actually vegan. The candies themselves are just okay... the sour candies were the best!

So happy I found Giddy Candy and what a perfect spot for a sweet treat. So nice working with the owner. She was helpful and friendly and offered great suggestions when we shared what we were looking for. The shop is super cute and clean.
Also let's be respectful of store owners & their businesses. Unfortunately noticed some patrons with kids and hope parents are more respectful. It's our responsibility as parents to make sure our littles follow the rules and hated to see that burden placed on the shop owner. She was as gracious as can be! Will definitely be back to enjoy and support!

My friend and I drove an hour to go here to get Swedish candy. We got here at 6:45 which online said they were open, but when we got here there was a song on the door letting us know they closed at 6:30pm. For the time we drove to get here and for them to not even be open is ridiculous.

It’s a cute little hole-in-the-wall to indulge your inner child with. It’s small store front boasts a large selection of all the staple little sugar fixes a candy jar could ever contain. Their staff is hella nice too and that’s really the icing on the cake for me! I just wish they were open late nights. ???? ????!

The candy is delish and lots to chose from...But no samples so you can't determine what you need to heavy up on purchasing. ...and the lady who runs it is so rude and gruff with customers, it almost makes me not want to go there anymore. I've been there 2 times in the last couple weeks and she is the same. I have read other reviews who also commented on this. Just strange, it is a very small store, and she is the only one who works there, so customer service is important.
