Probably one of the worst haircuts I have ever received, I addressed this with Maiko and she had absolutely no interest in fixing the issue at hand. She was dismissive and just walked away. I was extremely clear in what I wanted and even had a reference photo and she ultimately just did whatever she wanted.

Made an appointment with Aya and she did an amazing job! I showed her a reference and it came out exactly like the picture! Also got a relaxing head and shoulder massage. Will be returning in the future.

I still cant find a hair stylist as good as the one I used to have in glam up even after 15yrd!!!! I miss my hair stylist so much, she is a japanese petti lady with black long hair very gentle. she was so good doing inner trimming and always very details checking both side if match. I was introduced by my japanese bestest to go glam 15 yrs ago, and I was so lucky to got assigned by her!!! still so sad I didnt know her name and I still miss the smooth hair cut she did for me and she got my best french style bang ever as well. She never rushed always very serious about each client and very detailed trimming.I used to go visit her from Sac town before I moved to san jose. she was my first hair stylist in bay area back then, and i didnt aware of the tip culture, so couple few times i never know i sld tip for hair cut and she never hates me and always smile n very kind n sweet and gentle.I remember one time I came for valentines day date night she was so sweet doing curly hair for me, and she told me she doesn’t celebrate that night was just chilling at home with bf. I was amazed how she prep for other best date from bottom of her heart! I still miss her so much and still cant find anyone cut my hair smooth like she did in detail skills. and Im not sure if she still in this salon, hope one day if i go back visit bay area I can still have chance to let her do my haircut again that wld be a such dream come true!! The hair she did for me also shows up in many of modeling photos captured the best of my 20s! thanks for giving such beautiful haircut at my peak era of youth!!! last a lifetime memory fo sho! still hoping someone can let me know whats her name so at still I know who to make reservation to next time visit bay area! ???

Such a great salon! I got a shampoo and blow out for just $35 with Maiko and she is amazing! I have pretty thick and curly hair but she gave me such a great blowout exactly how I wanted. Plus the whole thing took just 30 minutes!!! I am SO happy with the service.

Was my second time here and Maiko is amazing! She's so detail oriented, really pampers her clients, and really treats her work like a craft. I've left both times feeling extremely satisfied with the finished product. Today I went in to get a full-color dye, and my hair was extremely dry and damaged. Maiko managed to make it super soft, silky, and back to my natural color. I will be a return customer, and very happy to support smaller businesses like these!

I did my hair cut done here last Nov and I liked it so I tried a wave perm today. It took 2 hours for a cut and perm since my hair is short. Maiko was very careful and permed my hair nicely to match the photo that I showed her at the beginning. I really like her service.

Their website says you need to call them to make an appointment if it's your first time. I called. No one picked up. I called again and again, but was always directed to the voice mail. So I decided to book online. After a few days I decided to cancel the appointment because I was skeptical about their customer service and skills by looking at photos. So I tried canceling the appointment online. I was surprised the canceling function was disabled by this hair salon. So I had to call them again. No answer! So I left a voicemail saying that I want to cancel and would like to have a confirmation because if cancellation is not successful, you'll be charged $160. I didn't hear from them for a few days. Finally, I received an automated text message that my appointment was canceled. I ended up not communicating directly with anyone at the salon. I will not try to make an appointment again.

I've been going to Glam-up for over a decade or so now. There has been some amazing artists working there. Maiko is the owner and has done my hair the last two times. I get the Japanese straight perm with her. She's attentive and checks the process as the chemicals do their magic. She's super careful not to get it on my scalp, face, neck, etc. She straightens extremely small sections of my hair to make sure it's as straight as I asked her for it. It's worth the time, price is fair, and Maiko does a great job. I hope when Covid lets up she's able to bring in the talent she did before.

I haven't had my hair cut since 2019, and after moving home to San Francisco it was hard for me to find a hairstylist I could take a chance with but I decided to go with Maiko and I loved the haircut she gave me! I booked with her online, and the haircut itself went really well. They take your temperature and ask you all the standard covid questions before entering, then take you to wash your hands before settling in. I showed Maiko a picture of what I wanted, and she confirmed lengths and told me where my bangs and layers would start before working on my hair. She obviously had a lot of experience and knew what she was doing! I would come back to her again in the future!

I really love my new hair cut by Aya! She was very friendly and her service was amazing! Firstly, she talked about what I want before cutting my hair to make sure we're both on the same page. After she's done, she also asked if I want to add bangs or more layers to it to get the best look that I want. She also gave me a nice massage at the end of the appointment. I had a great experience and my hair turned out exactly like I wanted it to be. I will definitely come back for Aya again for my haircut!

I have been following Sohei from the Japanese Salon to Hair Caffee to now, where he is running his own operation. Sohei is the best! He gives me the hair straightening treatment every 8 to 9 months or so and my hair is always straight, shiny and perfect.

Maiko did a phenomenal job with my thermal hair straightening. She asked if I wanted my hair very flat/pin straight or less flat. I told her I did not want it too flat. I generally like my hair to be straight but not too flat, as I think some volume looks good. She graciously did my hair in three sections so it wouldn't be so flat and it turned out amazing! She also gave me a haircut and it looks great. It's been several years since I've gotten thermal straightening and a Japanese style haircut and I am very happy with the quality of my services with Maiko. Will be back!
