I would give zero stars if that was an option. I was given a car with 1/3 of a tank of gas and noted that to the person who checked me out upon leaving the facility. I was given no paperwork to notate this and returned the car with 1/2 tank of gas, more than was in the tank than when I picked it up. I was then charged $98.03 for not returning it full. I called Hertz twice to contest this charge and after not hearing back after 2.5 weeks I just called and spoke to a supervisor that said if I didn’t have proof of the gas level, they couldn’t reimburse me. When I started to tell them it wasn’t the customers responsibility when I was given no paperwork, he hung up on me. I will never rent from Hertz anywhere again if this is becoming their practice with customer service.

3/2024 After adding to my review, Hertz has still not reconciled their error.In an another person’s recent post, 3 days prior to this repost, they responded with a link to reach them… it does not work.7/2023. Surprise additional costs and much higher bottom line than our Capital One Travel summarized upon booking. Desk employee unhelpful and as we tried to understand the charges he asked us to move aside to help other customers rather than explain why the amount was over $100 more. Under pressure we succumbed.After research, we discovered we were taxed on a rate 2times more than we paid. Not sure how this is legal, seems like tax fraud…followed up with hertz office, said capital one travel need to send vouchers , capital one said hertz issue, vouchers are never sent. Either way, we paid twice as much on all taxes than the rate we received. Neither company cares that this is plainly in writing on our receipts. Very disappointing experience.

Spent hours here last night. Got discriminated due to Asian name . They did not let me exit. I have President circle status and booked directly via hertz app with intermediate and above. I am entitled to select any vehicle in PC aisle. They claim my license name does not match the PC account. No problem for other hertz airport locations. Why can’t SFO read my Asian name correctly?

The vehicle was great and just what I reserved. They rush you through the check in and out process as a “gold member” under the guise of providing quick service, however they added 25% to the total of the reservation in additional insurance and fees that I didn’t agree to during the check in process. It is incredibly difficult post rental to get a person to communicate with.

I reserved a Tesla model 3 and decided at the president's circle counter to see about an upgrade. I was told a model y would be $14 more per day. I agreed to this but when I checked my bill I see that this was not the case. It was $150 more per day. I am flabbergasted by this outright deception by the Hertz representative. I never would have agreed to this. I am protesting this with the BBB and posting this on every review site. I have never had an experience like this with a rental car company.

Very rude manager at the Gold Plus Reward. I came all the way to the counter to ask them to fix the payment method and he treated me like that is my fault. He raised voice for no reason. The agent is helpful and polite though.

Have been renting with Hertz if efforts is getting a Tesla (far superior vehicle), but seems they have less of them these days. Will likely change strategy so I don't have to burn gas.

Worst experience. No sense of urgency. No one is directing the line. Exactly what to expect in San Francisco though. If u have to be somewhere after your flight …. Uber.

Great experience with outstanding customer service!!Leandro was funny, patient, kind, warm and so poised. He had wonderful recommendations and took his time even though he was the only associate at the counter and had a line of 20 ppl.Thank you Leandro! We hope you enjoyed the snacks ?
