They were supposed to give me the car at the autofix. Tried to call one hour ahead. no one were answring and waited for so long. poor costumer service due to being short staffed and very busy. not the staff fault. company needs to hire more poeple to help the clients.

Pretty sketchy experience. Renting here took over 50 minutes with a reservation. After returning the car with more gas than when I picked up the car, they decided to charge $123 for fuel anyways. They even show on the charges that I drove 400 more miles than I did.

We rented a car from Hertz in San Francisco (pick-up Fisherman’s Wharf, drop-off Mason Street). We returned the car on August 4th at 325 Mason Street, before the agreed time and with a full tank. Staff checked the vehicle and told us everything was fine, but did not give us a receipt.
Later, Hertz claimed we returned the car on August 12th at Ellis Street, which is completely false. They charged us for extra days, saying we were late, even though we provided overwhelming proof that the return was on August 4th:
-Flight tickets back to Spain on August 7th (impossible to return a car on the 12th).
-Hotel booking in San Francisco (Powell Place, Aug 3–7).
-Google Timeline showing the exact route: hotel → gas station → Hertz Mason Street → then walking back to the hotel.
-Gas receipts from the morning of Aug 4th, near Mason Street.
-Waymo ride receipts after Aug 4th, which we would not have needed if we still had a car.
-Photos taken right after leaving Hertz, showing the area and timestamp.
Despite sending all this evidence in multiple emails, Hertz ignored it. They kept our $200 deposit and even tried to charge $400.15 more. This feels fraudulent and completely unfair.
Be very careful when renting here – if employees fail to record your return properly, you might end up paying for days you didn’t use the car.

I wish I can give 0 stars for this rental place. Completely unprofessional bunch of jokers, with trashy vehicles and employees with bad attitudes.

Worst car rental service ever, waited 1,5 hr to pick up and also they didn’t give me the promised 7saeter… how can we find a seven seater in last minute??? and Hertz customer service couldn’t be reached in 15min and could not help at all, but replying here immediately. Hey Hertz instead of reply here help your customers!!!

This location should think about having more staff assisting guests with rental pick ups. Two hours in line even though we did everything online and had a booking reserved. Poor guy at the front desk was answering the phone, checking people in and fetching the cars in the back for people, he really deserves the top dog award up on the wall in the office

Great place, great people and great experience.
I would definitely recommend, I am usually never satisfied by car renting places but in this place the people really did the difference.
Check in was super fast and way more easy than what I expected, I’m foreign with a foreign license and that usually brings up some sort of issues but not this time.
The day I brought the car back everyone was so nice and they even gave me a ride back to my place. That’s what I can great service, will definitely rent again with hertz thanks to this location.

Update from 1 to 5 star we had to go back cause it was the only place that had vehicles and they got a 2 trucks in within the hour that we went to eat. We got our reservation we had and everything was resolved. It's not them over booking it's the third party app! We are pleased with the service now and they deserve the 5 stars.

If I could give zero stars I would! Rented a truck a week in advance for my trip. Arrived and they had no truck no similar vehicle and then said I’d be paying triple for any of the other cars they did have.
* update we had to go back after trying to book with other company enterprise who booked us a truck then called back to say they had no vehicles at all. Hertz was able to get us the truck we wanted (some were returned as we came back) and the price was honored as to our original reservation. After many flight delays we were happy to get our vehicle and be on our way
