This place is no longer open. Don’t pick up your car at this place.

This is an unfriendly place where even the final letter to pick up the car gives the office address rather than the garage address.I have to go office first, than get garage address. The staff are unfriendly and have a consistently dismissive attitude toward customers. It was the worst Hertz experience I have ever had. Your service must improve.

I made my reservation several weeks ago through Hopper. We arrived about 20 minutes after our scheduled pickup (historically not an issue any other time I’ve rented a car). After speaking to Derek at the Hertz desk at the hotel, he advised me that it’d be another 20-30 minutes before my car was ready and that he’d give me a call once it was.40 minutes pass and I see the same agent walking out the door to take his lunch break. He looked as if he’d recognized me and was trying to break eye contact as he was leaving. He advised that he was “under orders” to take his lunch break and that he’d be back in an hour. If we needed any assistance from him, we certainly weren’t gonna get it until he got back from his break. We made our way to the actual Hertz location that services the hotel and that general area on Mason St. I advised them of the hotel clerk’s general lack of urgency, and within minutes, they had our vehicle ready. As much as possible, try to avoid booking through the hotel location.

The rental rates were competitive and offered great value for the quality of service and vehicles provided.

Called Hertz to ask to change my pickup time 2 hours earlier. They said "sure, no problem." When I arrived, was told there was no car for me. Not the fault of the folks at Westin and Ellis St Hertz offices, but just an obvious failure of communication on the part of the company. The only thing keeping this from being a 1 star review was Seema Khan, an employee at the Ellis St office, who was very kind and tried really hard to help, ending up getting me a car after 90 minutes (i.e., 30 minutes before my original reservation).

Absolutely unprofessional mess of a place, letting people cut the line, the workers don’t care at all, slow as can possibly be, got to the front of the line after a 2 hour wait and they said they don’t have any more cars. Didn’t bother to tell anyone in line. Very poorly run establishment.

Uyen the server/barista/cashier, is great. She made me the best coffee and was very friendly. I appreciate how kind and informative she was about the beverages. The Westin St. Francis hotel definitely needs to recognize her for her service. 5-star rating just for her.

Lovely Lobby Bar in the St Francis Hotel We were not staying at the lovely St Francis Hotel, when back to San Francisco in January for a wine event, but walked over to do a tasting in one of the Napa wineries’ tasting rooms, in the lobby. Afterward, we retired to Caruso’s the beautiful open lobby bar, just across the hallway from registration. Caruso’s is a large open space, with a bar along one end, then a bit more formal dining area, and finally an open seating area with communal tables, stools, and lots of AC outlets to recharge one’s devices. Before, we had been in one of the booths, along the wall, and near that bar, but this time, we were at a small 4-top, in the seating area, in front of the bar. One of the aspects of Caruso’s, that I like, is that along its periphery, there are displays of the history of the St Francis hotel, and one should invest time in studying those - there are maybe a half-dozen glass cases, that ring this restaurant/bar, in the lovely lobby. These are definitely a must-see, so please take some time to examine them all - like a trip to a museum, and with nice wines. Service was very good at the bar, and we stuck with the Château Montelena wines on the wine list, though we had just done a tasting there, across the lobby - we were done tasting, and were ready to do some wine DRINKING. A lovely, casual venue, it is one of my favorite lobby bars in San Francisco. A great place to just sit, and watch the world go past, in the lovely lobby of the Westin St Francis Hotel, just across from Union Square.

The breakfast buffet was nice. There was a few egg dishes and a omlett station. They had meats and cheeses. A good variety of breads and desert. The buffet as pricey, but it was a good meal.

This was an easy place to grab a breakfast pastry, coffee and tea. The quality is excellent and the prices are typical big city hotel rates. There are not many cheaper options near by. It is relaxing, can be quite private if you sit in a corner, or out in the open for people watching as they walk through the main lobby. the options are limited and they close at 8 pm, for food and drink.

My experience was beyond perfect! I got a huge discount when I booked with Carla app. Hertz agents made my car ready very quickly and helped me with a child seat.
