I have been coming to this breakfast spot location for numerous of years when it was called Baywatch. The restaurant is now called Home Plate. I don't know if it's the same owners but breakfast/brunch/lunch is always good - portions are ample, tasty and service is to please. There is always something for everyone - some of my table mates are quite picky. The interior has changed since it was Baywatch. They took out the small glass enclosed dining room (sat 30 persons max where I would hold wedding showers/baby showers/family gatherings and where organizations would hold there meetings). The restaurant serves "home made" type of food - nothing fancy or fusion. Food quality and service still remain excellent.

Chairs are absolutely filthy with stuffing coming out of them. They should be ashamed. Food was good.

Apparent they do not want Black people eating here. They scowled and shouted at me to sit here, and all I did was enter the place. They made the food appear edible, but it was poisonous. Spent the night and all morning in the toilet exhuming from what must have been rancid bacon. Uncooked gooey pancakes and the worst woman shouting at me because I told her nicely, that the food was inedible. If I could, I would give this place ZERO STARS!Parking: Parked in the Wells Fargo lot. Was a few homeless people with carts. Tourists don't leave anything in plane view left in car.

I had a craving for pancakes. They were raw! Yep, gummy gooey under cooked. The waitress said that's how they cook them. I asked her if they could cook them longer, and she said NO! They are Fluffy that's how we cook them. I toldvher they were Not Fluffy that they were Undercooked and It was RAW pancake batter. I had one bite, spit it out. We went back and forth, and she asked if I wanted waffles. That's a Biggg No Thanks. The bacon was dry/hard looked reheated from the fridge. The eggs over medium were Ok, but the coffee was burnt and quite bitter. I couldn't drink it. Don't suppose they wanted my business ever again. I can take a hint. She said she'd charge me 1/2 price. But she lied. I tipped the guy $2 cash who brought me my plate. He seemed to want to avoid any contact with me. The tab included 18% tip with every order, and I added another additional $2 total of $6.33 tip for 1 slice of bacon, 2 eggs and 1/2 cup of coffee. Total $26.33. Really, I don't see any discount. My dog wouldn't even eat it. Now I feel sweaty, have a tummy ache, and might need a trip to the doctors cause I feel nauseated. Unbelievable. The health department needs to investigate!

Service was good, but the food quality has drastically gone down from when they were at their old location. It's not horrible, but it's not worth going out for. They don't have their complimentary scones and homemade jam anymore, either. And its decor is dirty and rundown.

Great vibes and solid food. This place takes my award for “best first impression” of any restaurant in SF.The smells are immaculate, the vibes feel like a fancy furniture store, and the service is quick. Pretty great!

First of all this is the cutest place. It's also so big inside which is surprising for San Francisco since usually restaurants are pretty small in size. There is usually a wait during Saturday, Sunday brunch so just be prepared. I think I waited about 40 minutes however, the wait was definitely worth it. I was going back-and-forth between a savory dish and a sweet dish. I usually will always pick savory but I was craving something sweet that day. I ended up ordering the French toast and it did not disappoint. Oh my gosh was it perfect - it was sweet, crispy and adorned with fresh fruits and plated so beautifully.

First the pros: staff is very friendly and attentive--they kept refilling coffee and water without having to be asked. The decor is cute and homey. We got our food pretty quickly. My daughter really liked her french toast with berries and her tater tots. I ordered a frittata. They brought the wrong one but immediately corrected it. The frittata itself was pretty tasty. However, the "potato pancakes" are not at all as described. The server said they were latkes but they certainly are not (and there are carrot shreds in them!). They were very thin perfect squares, which makes me think they probably come pre-made/frozen and are not made in-house. They also came to me pretty much cold. I would NOT order these again. The toast also came stone cold and with a hard cold pat of butter, that is pretty much the worst toast combo ever. Overall, I would still give them another try, maybe at lunch/dinner instead of breakfast.

It’s a wonderful place to have your breakfast! You will be pleasantly surprised by the stylish European interior (we really miss it), spotless service and the breakfast itself. It’s sooo delish! Especially, French toast. It’s just out of this world! And there is only one con: it’s pricey. So the place is highly recommended.

Wonderful, comfortable place for a relaxed meal. Food was amazing - especially I recommend the crowaffle - a croissant pressed in a waffle maker and stuffed with Nutella! To die for. Coffee was great too.Dietary restrictions: Able to make something safe for celiacs (egg plate).Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly, had high chairs.

Disclaimer: "house fries" here are roasted potatoes. Enjoyed my Sunday brunch here. Large portions and expansive menu. Menu is definitely more on the breakfast side on the breakfast-lunch scale. Portion was personally too big for me as a light breakfast person, would like to do a half portion next time if possible. We got coffee as well. Can add caramel or vanilla to coffee and my vanilla cappuccino did not disappoint. They only have oat milk and whole milk. Also the restaurant wraps around the back and it gets nicer and nicer as you walk in. We got seated in the back and the restaurant was so fancy!
