We’ve stayed at the fairmont heritage place several times. It’s clean, quiet, the staff are amazing and it’s an excellent location. The multi bedroom units are perfect when we bring our grandkids to the city. The kitchen is stocked with anything you need if ordering in food. There are several restaurants nearby.

The best stay I’ve ever had in San Francisco. The staff were very helpful and nice. Would definitely stay here

The Fairmont at Ghirardelli Square was FANTASTIC! The staff was kind, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The room was to die for, and the location can't be beat! If you're staying in San Francisco, book here first!Rooms: We stayed in a two bedroom sweet with a bday view. The bed rooms were large and comfortable. Both bedrooms had full bathrooms attached, and the living dining area was large but somehow still cozy.Nearby activities: Everything is nearby. We didn't use Uber once (although we did have the Fairmont send a car to pick us up when we found ourselves far from home with a toddler who couldn't walk another step.) That was our fault though. We got a little over confident.Safety: People say all sorts of stuff about San Francisco, but sheet being there I can honestly say, it was clean, friendly, and inviting. Avoid Tenderloin and the rest of the city is your playground!Walkability: Everything downtown is within walking distance and is flat along the bay. Of your heading in town, hop a cable car (download the Muni app) and it'll take you where you want to go and back again when your finished!Food & drinks: So many fantastic restaurants we couldn't begin to try them all. I didn't find a single one that wasn't great though.

Great stay at the residences. Staff was very accommodating, and professional. Very clean, and quiet, yet close enough to walk or get a ride anywhere. Unlike most hotels in the area, there's no charge for your car either. Area hotels are up to $80 a night for parking. Very nice stay.

Lovely boutique hotel with apartment style rooms: fully stocked kitchens, large dining tables, fireplaces in the living room area and bathrooms with large glass enclosed showers and separate enclosed toilet area. Valet parking is included, service is top notch and the area is lovely with many restaurants, shops, water views and a park and small beach around the corner.

The suites have well equipped kitchens, with the necessary flatware, ware and glassware, pots & pans. The Nespresso machine is a nice touch. The views can be spectacular, with Alcatraz nearby. The suites have a washer and dryer which is extremely convenient. It feels like every detail of the suites are well thought through with the guests comfort in mind. The staff is always friendly, courteous and helpful. I really appreciate the high level of customer service and cannot say enough positive things about the workers.

It’s not a 5 star hotel. Lack of amenities and facilities really discount their ability to rate it as a 5 star. Staff was decent, not very attentive or thoughtful. The valets and housekeeping were a lot nicer than the front desk personnel which is weird for a “5 star”.We stayed there for 3 nights told the front desk that we had 2 nights of incredible noise (apparently coming from unit below us) and sounded like someone was moving furniture the entire night. Very loud to the point of not being able to sleep. Said “I ll have someone look into it”. No follow up. No apology. nothing. They call themselves a five star because these are condo grade residences and the location is above the Ghirardelli chocolate experience next to the water. It’s a fancy apartment building with no amenities in a touristy location. Short of that it’s nothing special and definitely not worth their prices for accommodation. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless someone else is paying or you love Ghirardelli chocolate.

Due to a cancelled flight, we stayed here for 1 night at short notice. Spectacular view of Alcatraz and quiet location close to the piers. You have to rent a bike and cycle over the Golden Gate Bridge. :)

I would not recommend Fairmont Ghirardelli. Our room was very loud (even with the windows closed) and I was surprised that the large windows (facing Ghirardelli Square at ground level) looking into the living area & bedroom are not tinted at all- so there is no privacy. Everyone could see us that was walking around in the public space outside! With the price we paid we were very disappointed by the loud noise and lack of privacy in the rooms. When we asked for a different room, the lobby did nothing- how is this place a 5-star hotel? I would NOT recommend it and feel like it was definitely not worth the money at all. I'm very disappointed.

Every visit is a pleasure and the staff treat each guest with the utmost respect. The rooms are well kept and have everything you would need. There can be some noise from the square but it tends to quiet down after 10/11pm. You can't beat the bay views!
