Stopped here with my brother–in-law and sister-in-law We greeted by one of the ladies behind the counter and given a free sample. We ordered toffee, mint bark and chocolate honeycombs. The se vice was excellent, the candy even a bit better!

Just missed my bus, so I stopped in at LittleJohn's Candies again for his absolutely delicious toffee (got to make the best of a bad situation, right?). It didn't disappoint! His toffee is fresh and buttery and has the perfect crunch to it! I got a quarter pound (again) and munched a bit of it while waiting for the next bus. This time, I also got one of the dark chocolate rocky road clusters ($2.95). While it was good, it didn't have the same satisfying yumminess that the toffee has. The toffee is $32 a lb, but the quarter pound lasts a little while and is very satisfying in small chunks. Found out that they're leaving this spot on Market Street. The proprietor said the candy can still be ordered online or, if you're near the Sierras, they have a shop there. Definitely going to miss them; what will I do the next time I miss my bus??

I cannot describe the beautiful smell of this wonderful store as you walk in the door. Watching them make chocolate so beautifully is amazing. Everything was so yummy!

I'm still going back after eight years.Rather than just gush about how much I like it, perhaps some points will be more useful:First: this place is chocolate and caramel focused, rather than general candy. If you want gummy worms or an esoteric type of swedish salted licorices, they might not have it. They do have a small assortment of those.Second: if you get analysis paralysis, it might help to come in with a very specific set of criteria and quantity in advance. The people working will help you when they can and will let you sample to your heart's content, but for your own sake have it in your head that you want something like "a chocolate with pistachio for two people".Third: you can use their website to order and ship for people. Be wary that in the summer stuff can melt, and they will tell you as much. They might recommend a different shipper or be more meticulous about the timing. This isn't an upsell; they just don't want your recipient getting an amorphous blob of calories. Finally: their toffee is the best. Really, the best I've had.

This cute little hole in the wall of market street makes from scratch some of the tastiest candies you can imagine. Try the English toffee for a tasty crumbly nutty and soul soothing experience you won't soon forget. If they put as much love into their other candies as they do that and the peanut butter fudge you would be hard pressed to find a decent competition.

Spending the day in Mount Aukum with family is always special. Grabbed lunch at Creekside and headed out looking for some dessert... the search ended at Little John's Candies. Come on.... that place is amazing! The look-n-feel of the store and glass viewing area of the candy making factory is awesome. The fudge was a silky smooth masterpiece. The english toffee was perfection. The other treats were equally amazing. If you're heading out to the wine trail, this place is a 'MUST STOP'.

Love this cute shop and my favorite is their delicious toffee. When we walked in we got a big, amazing whiff of chocolate making which is something I've never smelled before (it's not just a regular chocolate smell). Wish they could bottle that to sell. Most of the shop space is a kitchen where they make everything. The guy working there was delightful and helpful in choosing things to try. Also told us about the history of the Littlejohns and their family. Tried various caramels and chocolates which were all delicious (debatable whether they or See's are better -- or maybe both good but different) --- but the clear favorite was the toffee that they're famous for. Worth going a bit out of your way for this place.

Visited the new store in Aukum, CA. If you want angels to massage your tongue, go to Littlejohn's.

Delicious old school candies. Really great quiality and flavors. The best dark chocolate. This is one of the only nice places in the area, that is really struggling in mid market. I hope the city and residents keep the business safe with all the nonsense going on right outside. I can imagine the theft and break ins

Avoid! SF Chocolate Factory is better quality and appreciates customers. We just spent $70+ and the clerks have been advised to only use one bag regardless if you ask them to split to avoid crushed goods. Nope. No extra bag.. unless you pay?? Same for gift wrapping... it's included in price but you cannot get it "on the side" or to go if you wanted to add a little note, jewelry etc. You have to let them wrap and seal.. you cannot get the free gift wrap to go.. even after spending $70+. Manager watched to see clerks were not doing anything extra and they looked scared like they were stealing.. if (oh no..) you gave an extra bag after such a large spend. Ridiculous.

It's the most unique and wonderful place. It kind of makes me think of Willy Wonka's chocolate factory. Little John's is excellent. I love it very much

This place is about as adorable as baby toes. The toffee? Just stop it. I'm not big into sweets but love me some toffee now and then. Amazing and a secret recipe so Shhhh..... The Gent behind the counter was friendly and seemed proud of their offerings as he should be. Great job and beautiful place and vibe. We'll be back!
