Mia is my absolute fave! She is very chill and her mom is super sweet. I usually get nail extension w/design They always nail my style. Mia is very attentive to details and my nails are always very strong and last for a very long time. I always leave feeling very happy. If you're looking for a very chill and friendly service, I definitely 100% recommend.Services: Nail art

Mia has been doing my nail art for the last two years— every experience has been wonderful! At this point, the lovely people at Mia’s are the only ones I will trust for a reliably good gel manicure. They take great care with the removal process and Mia’s art is top notch. Love supporting this family-run business!

Tldr: Went for about a year and am now searching for a new nail tech; Mia's quality went downhillI've experienced gel mani, gel x, and gel removal.First time I went, it was for gel removal and it was pretty basic. The couple of other times, it was for gel x. She / her mom would cut my nails super short then tell you yea it's too short for regular gel and "short is ugly"-- so you have to get extensions or else it won't look good & they'll continue pushing you.For the past 3 separate appointments, while she / her mom was drilling on my nails, she caused the sides of some of them to cut& bleed, ouch. She would deflect by saying 'you have such small nails' like ok but every other Asian girl has the same size nails so?The cuts would be really big too so having a bandaid over fresh nails is basically like putting a cap over a new haircut. I continued going, to give them the benefit of doubt but my nails always had cuts at the end of each appointment. My most recent appointment was for regular gel, no extensions. Maybe it was a language barrier difference (her mom and dad are mainly Viet speakers) but I wanted to see how my nails looked as round or square w/ rounded edges. After a few minutes, her mom said something in Viet to Mia and they switched places. Mia gave a lot of attitude and said she couldn't understand me. She then proceeded to talk sh!t about me to her mom during my visit. Needless to say, I left with a poor manicure and even uglier nail shape. In general:Mia is good at details if she has time + if you have money. (Gel is around $50, gel x around $110 not including tip)Usually she overbooks herself so you wait over 30 min past your scheduled time to finally get started. If you're doing anything with the gel drill -related, be prepared for your nail or cuticles to bleed after how rough they are. Her dad roughly used an orange buffer on my nails and it bled.As before, she makes you wait a long time. Sometimes she's ready but 5/6 visits, they're lagging.+ They talk about you in Vietnamese in front of you. Not classy. The one in that "1/5" is because I like how clean their place is. They sterilize their nail tool packets and used to have barriers during the COVID Era. Now though, it seems like their entire family is sick because they're always coughing whenever I go.Cheap but my most recent extensions fell off after 1 week.+ She charges you for every design, chrome and detail in addition to the minimum nail price. (Add +10$ for French tips or chrome in additin to gel base price)She will though treat you better if you spend more.

Love my nails! Amazed with the holo effect created thru the use of magnets. I don't usually get my nails done due to it not being allowed with work, but now that i'm on vacation, i just might come back for the other colors!

Obsessed with my nails by Mia! This was my first time getting my nails done here and the whole experience was great. They're very friendly and attentive. I came in with a photo inspiration and they came out even better than anticipated!

Mia and her salon is a great place to feel welcomed, taken care of, and have beautiful nails by the end. I had gel x nails on when i went into the salon and the team at Mia's removed them very patiently and gentle. I experienced no pain or discomfort during the process and my nails were not damaged after. Once my nails were prepped, Mia did a great job with putting a fresh coat of gel on. They also have OPI gel polishes which is a plus. This colour is funny bunny! I will definitely be going back for my next nail appointment. My husband also got a pedicure. His nails looked very clean and prepped for polish. He did wish to have more of the calluses scrubbed off! Overall, thank you?

Mia's is the best! I've gotten gel x at other salons for the same price and nothing compares to how Mia did it. Her attention to detail and care made my experience so great! My cuticles have never felt cleaner

I have been here twice now for gel extensions and it has exceeded my expectations each time. Mia is expensive (~$75+ and tip for gel xtension) but she does nails with such precision and care. She takes her time and makes sure your nails are super clean and prepped before putting on gel. Her shop is really clean and she's really sweet. I will be back!

I am so happy I found this place! It's been a struggle finding a nail technician in Berkeley who is skilled at nail art, so I decided to search in SF. Saw this place on IG and, just by looking at the photos they posted, felt confident in Mia's abilities to do the design I wanted. I made an appointment for Wednesday at 4:30, and there was plenty of parking across the street when I got there. Only waited about 5 minutes for Mia and her mom to finish up the current customers (it's just them and Mia's dad working on nails btw. A family-owned and operated business!) Mia's mom took off my gel polish and Mia did my gel x extensions and design. She was so quick but careful with her work, and most of the time she nailed the design in just one stroke. She made sure to follow the reference photo I had shown her and did such a good job. I was worried that she might rush through the design since I was the last customer of the day, but while she was quick, she wasn't sloppy at all. I really look forward to getting more nail art done by Mia. I'm just so impressed by her work--and the price is reasonable too!

Giving two stars since my nails do look cute but the whole entire process from beginning to end was painful. Mia is super sweet and really tried to make the design exactly like the photos I showed her. Even though the design had so many different colors, she finished the whole process in an hour which is really impressive but I think the experience was just too painful. The first thing Mia did was use an e-file on my natural nails which I didn't understand because I didn't have any gel or anything on my nails. I feel like most salons just buff your nails but this probably was a quicker method. Personally I do not like using an e-file on my natural nails since I feel like it tends to cause my nails to break. I didn't mention anything though since it was my first time here and who am I to say something? After all, this is her salon and that is her method. Fine. She gets to putting on the Gel X tips onto my nail beds and notices one is crooked (!!) and she literally just pulls it off even though it's half cured (she cured it with the mini lamp). This can't be good for my natural nails right? The kicker for me was she used the e-file again on my cuticles and I kept flinching because it hurt so badly. A few of my fingers were cut up pretty badly. I attached a picture of my ring finger. I do want to come back and give Mia another try since she is so kind and the nails themselves look good but I'm a bit apprehensive of having the same experience again.
