We went when they opened in the morning on a Saturday. It wasn't crowded. We spent about 2 hours there, which was plenty of time. It is great that there is no admission charge. You only pay for the games you want to play and the mechanical scenes you want to watch. We enjoyed watching some strange historical, mechanical contraptions (some were pretty creepy) as well as playing some arcade games from our childhoods like Dig Dug, Galaga, Centipede, and Ms. Pac Man. Our favorite was the ice hockey game which was similar to a phoosball table but with hockey players. There are lots of restaurants to eat nearby and its an excellent, affordable outing. We only spent $40 in 2 hours which is pretty affordable.

We came here in my B’day and it was great. Had so much fun dreaming about how was the entertainment back in those days in each and every machine I was staring at.

This is a wonderful place of history and games of all types. Free admission, be sure to get at least $20 in quarters if you want to try out the various coin operated machines. These machines are meticulously taken care of and well loved. Mr. Dan Zelinsky is the owner of these beautiful machines most of which is passed down from his father. I remember him from the Cliff House days because of his roller skates which he still uses here. Bring the family, you won't see another place like this in the San Francisco Bay area and have fun for everyone. For those of us that remember "Playland", "Laughing Sal" is here too, give her a few coins to remember her laughter.

Wow such a cool museum filled with various vintage and old school coin-op machines. Nice seeing them old NeoGeo MVS, CPS-1, and CPS-2 arcade machines here. Now that the world is going HD and 4K, coming here to see the arcade in their glorious old-school native scanline glory is fantastic. Get to try five games before we left so it was a fun time especially for the kids. This is the first time they had try a Metal Slug arcade game, a Centipede arcade machine, and an X-Men vs. Street Fighter cabinet so it was a worthwhile experience for them. Thank you Musée Mécanique for keeping the old school alive.

This was our favorite place in San Fran, by far. Coolest ever! The fella that owns it is a super friendly guy, too! You're not missing much to skip alcatraz and the chowder in the bread bowl, but you absolutely CANNOT miss this place!

It's a lot of fun to use up the extra coins you have on hand! !The scary dolls move eerily, and all of them have the faces of alcoholics who were found with alcohol.

Well done. Free museum, with slot machines from another century that you can use for an average of 25 Cent. Too bad it deserves a refresh to highlight everything.

this is such a unique and fun experience. You have to try it if you are visiting fisherman‘s wharf, they have hundreds if not thousands of antique arcade machines in this warehouse type of building and you can spend so much time just walking around looking at all of the old machines almost all of them worked and we’re quite fun there are no restrooms or snacks or drinks in this building, so bring some if you want to spend a lot of time in here

We had a fun time here. They have a lot of old interactive mechanical games and plenty of arcade games. Price ranges from 25¢ to 2$ per game. There are also 2 claw machines if you would like to get some souvenir, one of them has 100% win rate, so you will get an item guaranteed. Overall an interesting interactive museum and the entrance is free!

Lots of interesting old-time games and shows. Honestly a wonderful idea, and worth the journey down memory (not mine) lane. 10/5.Give me regards to laughing Sal.
