Quaint and full of character. It's quirky and in a perfect location to walk around and catch buses, find food, convenience stores etc. Staff is welcoming and accommodating. It is a HISTORIC hotel, if you're looking for ultra modern super hotel look for a Hilton. This is a great hotel and I love staying here.

Great hotel for this area. It’s an old hotel the oldest in SF but clean rooms and great service.

Such a neat place to stay! I love the art deco style and the nautical theme. The whole neighborhood is art deco. The motel has a lovely hot tub with an outdoor shower. The hot tub area is private and peaceful. The rooms are nice and clean, with all the amenities. There is a nice outdoor area in the rear with chairs and a table under a tree. Lush grass and a small play area with swings and a slide. The parking is inside, on-site. It felt safe and my car was just as I left it. I also appreciate that the parking is close to the rooms, for viewing.

We were going to stay at Seascape per the social worker at UCSFs recommendation but saw a review mentioning this place is better and has a hot tub. Chester at the front desk is an absolute gem and the other staff as well, all friendly- just lovely people. Room was small and simple, no frills, but very clean and comfortable. 2 blocks from the beach, cafe, pizza place and deli all within walking distance. Safe and quiet. Highly recommend.

The Ocean Park Motel was the first motel in San Francisco, and it's a perfect example of the Streamline Moderne flavor of art deco architecture. Small, unique, and charming describes the place pretty well. The rooms are small, especially the bathroom, but they are nevertheless fine. Opulent luxury is not the point of this place; it's more an experience in living in the past, something some people will like and others won't. I'm very glad I stayed there.

Great place to stay and beautiful gardens. We came in town with 3 kids and it was very spacious and nice with the kitchenette. Very close to the bus line and easy to get around.

Hele fijne man bij de receptie, echt een goede start van San Francisco, kamers zijn oud maar goed onderhouden, dit omdat het het oudste motel van San Francisco is. Fijn motel!

My daughter helped me find this wonderful place a few years ago. After many visits, I am still loving the experience this special motel has to offer. It is the epitome of charming and a perfect throwback to a kinder, gentler time. It is located by the beach and walkable to shops and restaurants. I have stayed here with and without my dog and wandering through the neighborhood is a joy.

5*Location: great , 2 blocks from the beach and the zoo.4*Room: it depends on what room you get. Our room is #17, nice and big enough. Some rooms may have a smaller bathroom and others may have a kitchen.4*Amenities: plenty of towels, pillows, soaps , and shampoo. No security box, but free parking. A small garden, playground and hot tub.3*Service: need to require room cleaning that include emptying the trash and replenish supplies, but not making beds.

This place is not just old style - it's old. But, amazingly, everything works. It's well-maintained, from the paint to the water system and everything in between. However, there are two disadvantages. 1. Everything is small, very small. There's room for only one person in the kitchen and there is barely room for one person in the bathrooms. Two, there are very few electrical outlets. It's old, beautiful, small, but functional. Also the office is old school. Limited hours and the reservation system is a spiral notebook.Food & drinks: NoneNoteworthy details: Cool art deco design.

I live very close to this place and have for four years. I've always been curious and am sad I didn't check it out sooner. I met the owners who are very nice people. I rented the two bedroom family suite with a fully stocked kitchen for my family visit. I'm completely shocked this place exists for a reasonable price in SF. It's pretty much a spacious apartment that's very San Franciscan, clean, and in a safe location. Glad I found it. I think I found a place for my family to stay when they come visit from now on.

I'm not quite sure how this motel received good reviews. They don't answer the phone. They don't call you back despite saying they will in their phone greeting. They must take their phone off the hook because we've tried reaching them for hours but the line remains busy. We've left voice mails for them this morning, but no return call hours later. Judging from the reviews here and on yelp, the 2nd generation owner Marc Duffett isn't concerned with ensuring a good reputation on the Internet. He didn't even respond to a review that mentioned bites overnight, curtains that smelled like urine and more.We are going to another hotel that's owned by a chain. They answer their phones. Better yet, they provide online booking for their guests. We also didn't realize until reading Google reviews, that the LTrain goes by every 10 minutes, across the street and so noise is a problem.
