My time at Pyramind was absolutely instrumental in forging my professional audio career and in addition I made a bunch of lifelong friends. It's such a joyous experience to be surrounded by fellow audio nerds and artists and to be able to not only explore new concepts together but to collaborate and build something together. Before Pyramind I definitely had a passion for music and producing but they really showed me multiple paths forward and connected me with the means to make music/audio for a living. I ended up moving into a house full of Pyra producers and when I moved to Paris for a year I met some Pyra alumns and immediately had an audio community. I think there are a lot of different options and schools out there but if you're interested in producing music and working creatively in the industry I don't think there is a better school or place to be.

Going to school for audio production was a wonderful experience, and took my skills as a musician and engineer to a whole new level!

Many of the instructors are extremely talented and/or well respected in the industry, Steve who teaches many of the classes that focus on post production or audio engineering is one of the most talented studio engineers I’ve ever met and is an absolute wizard with pro tools, that man made a deal with the devil or something to be able to use pro tools like an extension of himself and differentiate the most subtle differences in tone and timbre. really nice guy too. absolutely lucky to have had him as a teacher and loved my time at pyramind! Might be a little intimidating how talented a lot of the students are when you get there but everyone is generally super nice and it’s a close knit community, people will definitely help you get up to speed in no time and hone your creative potential. Absolutely every resource available at the school to master your craft and feel at home in a recording studio. Thanks to everyone at pyramind!

I’m so lucky to have found Pyramind. The courses are put together so well that I actually feel like I can learn how to produce without being too overwhelmed, which is something that stopped me before. The teachers are very nice and knowledgeable and really go above and beyond to help you learn because I feel like they actually enjoy what they do. Thank you so much to everyone at Pyramind! I can’t wait to take more classes like the sound design class and the mastering courses. I highly recommend ?????

SHORT REVIEW: I’m working on a project now. Every few seconds my brain goes Steve showed me that / Jason showed me that / Ryan showed me that / Connor showed me that / Mario showed me that / Eric showed me that. LONG REVIEW: I started at Pyramind during lockdown and the staff bent over backwards to make the experience engaging, enriching, and effective. Fortunately, we were on-site for my final term and things got even better. I'd been studying music and experimenting with software for years, using a trial-and-error approach before I found the Pyramind program. I now know that, on my own, I never would have been able to: 1) select the right equipment and software for the task at hand; 2) understand digital & analog signaling, and how sound works in our atmosphere; 3) learn the vocabulary of sound engineering; 4) hear, I mean really HEAR compression and know what that means; 5) experiment with genres in an intentional way; 6) get curious about my own goals and see how they might be monetized in the future; 7) learn from other students' creative processes, hearing new things through their ears; 8) get unstuck from using only one DAW; 9) learn how to ask better questions, observing (and sometimes breaking free from) my own listening habits; 10) appreciate & patiently work with my own tunes, knowing when to ask for help in the process. I've said to friends, family, and colleagues, choosing Pyramind was one of the best moves I've made for myself. My wish is that everyone has a chance to benefit from mentorship of this kind, whatever their pursuit.

The faculty at Pyramind is top notch... there really is no better place to learn the art and science of music production, theory, arrangement, sound engineering and DJing.Props to the founder Gregory Gordon for assembling such an awesome team. I've been producing for over 25 years and learned a ton when I recently attended for Ableton + a bunch of other great stuff.

There is a hefty amount of age discrimination at this training facility. Even though the campus was filled with staff who bullied students, I left with what I needed. I first attended an online course at Pyramind and I was blown away by their knowledge of production methods and standards. After I attended the in class program and got to know the staff, I lost all respect for them. They would speak about former students, other industry experts, invited guests in a bad manner. They would always use the opportunity to put that persons knowledge down while elevating their appearance to the student body. Why am I giving them three stars? I left with the information I needed. Any time I see them out, I still shake their hands and say thank you because they gave me an insight to practices within the industry, I will never practice in my own professional career. Also, myself and many have found going to their online classes were a better experience than going to their classes in person. With the one star review, there used to be many stories similar to that gentlemen's but they recently wiped all the older reviews. Many of the 5 star reviews are either teachers or interns or people placed at a sister business.

I had private DJ lessons from Aaron Kuppin (aka Raid Zero), and he was an excellent instructor. I had some prior DJ experience, but was learning to work with a new style of music on new equipment, and wanted instruction to help take me to the next level. Aaron was extremely knowledgeable, very helpful, and was very professional throughout the time we worked together. He showed me what I wanted to learn and more, and I would definitely recommend him to anyone who would like DJ instruction. I hope to have the chance to work with him in the future. Outside of working with Aaron, Matt Donner was the person working at Pyramind who set me up with him. Matt took great care to find me an instructor who suited my experience level and personality (we talked a bit before i started). My entire interaction with Pyramind was excellent. I haven't yet taken any of their group classes, but after working with Matt, Aaron, and seeing the facility, I have no doubt that they are all awesome.

Absolute 5-star experience. I will be completing my Ableton Certificate program in three months and I have to say I couldn't be more pleased with my experience at Pyramind. Andrew has been extremely responsive, personable and helpful since before I enrolled. The level of service and consideration that I have received here is second to none. I am an online student based out of San Diego, so being remote can cause extra stress due to not being able to ask questions in person on a frequent basis. I have found each of my instructors as well as Andrew (enrollment advisor) to be extremely responsive and willing to help. It seems they genuinely care about my progress as an artist while at the same time respect me as a student and customer of Pyramind. At the end of the day, when you pay for a product or service you hope it lives up to your expectations. This school seriously has blown me away with the amount of value they have provided me throughout this certificate program. For one, my workflow and understanding of Ableton has taken a quantum leap, which allows me to get sounds out of my head and into the DAW quicker. Secondly, I have been forced to spend a ton of time in the DAW doing assignments which are very well designed and built on each other leading up to each final project. I now not only have multiple remixes and original tracks, but I also have a folder full of my own unique sounds I have created using sound design. It feels great to hone in on my vision of the music I would like to bring to the world and ultimately communicate my idea more clearly, concisely and efficiently. On top of all of the things previously mentioned, I also received an educational discount on Ableton Live 9 Suite (40% off). That's gigantic! The last thing I'll mention is that Pyramind helped me finance my program over the year so it ended up being less than my car payment to go to school for music production, about $200 per month! Life is good and I am extremely satisfied with my experience at Pyramind Training. Give them a shot and I'm sure you won't be disappointed either.

Pyramind is honestly the best music school that I could find in the San Francisco Bay Area. I graduated from their 8 month core program in December 2015 and officially have all of the tools necessary to manifest almost any of my musical ideas in the studio. I have also received extreme production opportunities with huge game companies including the biggest one, Disney Interactive. If you are serious about creating success for yourself as an artist of any genre, I'd highly recommend coming to this school!

I'll start by saying the classes are informative and give a good foundation to start a career in the music industry. There are also some good teachers here that care. Pyramind hosted the SF auditions for Boston's Berklee College of Music and this was the first I had heard of it and seen the facility. I received a scholarship so I lived in Boston a few years, and came back to CA. I actually referred a friend of mine to attend Pyramind's full certification program and went with said friend to sign up. At the sign up, I was surprised that they said that when you attend Pyramind you can retake and attend any class again if you so desire, as many times as you want. I thought that was awesome---wow these people are so chill! Two months later I decide I would like to get my Pro Tools certification as well as a few others and spent thousands of dollars (most of the money in my bank account) signing up for 3 weekly classes. After attending a few weeks of class, my brother's stage four cancer got worse and we were told he would have a short time to live. I went into a deep depression and stopped working and attending classes entirely to visit him every day. A month after he passed away I came to Pyramind to explain what happened and to say I'd like to attend the next round of classes. I was met with a resounding NO. You can only retake a class if you attend the FULL Certification program. So that was it. No empathy or understanding for my situation, which I would expect from a small community of artists. So I was left with barely any money and no chance of taking the classes that I payed for----but they told me I could pay in full again. No thank you.

Pyramind is a great group of folks who really care about providing relevant, high-quality instruction in the musical arts. Their classes are very thorough and you can tell they care about the class experience and how much we, the students, get from our time there. They have classes of all sorts, for all genres. You can learn to set up a sound field in a studio or club, get production skills honed or refreshed, and much more. Having great resources like Pyramind on-hand is another reason we are very lucky to live here in the Bay Area. What are you waiting for?

I had been making music as a hobby when I was in university so when I finished up my degree the last thing I wanted to do was go to another school for another 4 years. Pyramind was perfect. The "Core" program is 8 months and was/is everything I needed. It had all the certifications that were standard in the music industry and a few extra courses that sweetened the deal. Although the course is shorter than most it doesn't mean its easy. It is still hard work. The school is constantly pushing forward to create an even better community for its students. I came from Canada to go to the school and was surprised that A LOT of my classmates were there on a visa as well. When you are new to a city or country, it's important to find a good community. I could ramble on forever about the positives of Pyramind (elite sessions/workshops, class sizes, the teachers, etc.) but it's still about the work you put in yourself. During the orientation I remember one of the teachers saying that at the end of the 8 months you will be transformed. Right now I am about half way through the core and it has definitely already happened. It's kinda scary haha. Good luck in your search!

I have been producing music on and off for the past 10 years and had done some serious researching for schools when I decided to make it a career. I am convinced that Pyramind was the best possible choice toward helping me achieve my goals. The teachers and staff are actively working in the music industry, as well as the audio for gaming and film industries. The facilities at both the school and pro studio are state of the art and well maintained and frequently updated. Most importantly, these guys are flexible with their students personal schedules, and above all else they are very organized!!! Now that I am about half way through the program, I can;t help but think how much I am going to miss this place when its over. Thank you Team Pyramind!

graduated a few years ago and I can say this is the best school in the Bay Area. Soup to nuts music industry learning with a really fantastic staff of instructors. Steffen Franz being my favorite with his wonderful mentoring skills. You can only succeed in the music business if you create a web of talented people, and the best place to do that is Pyramind. Love it , thanks guys!!!!!!!!!!
