John is a very friendly and knowledgeable store manager. I visited the store twice to ask all the questions I had and try out various different chairs. I was there for a long time and he was attentive for the entire time I was there. I bought a chair but ended up returning it within a few hours for my own reasons. John must have not been thrilled to hear this but he handled it well and was still very friendly. Would recommend anyone considering an ergonomic chair.

We purchased a new Zero-gravity chair at the store in January. We were very pleased with the help in the showroom, ease of purchase, quick delivery and great set-up in our home. We love the chair and have purchased several Zero-Gravity chairs in the past.

Very very happy with Relax the Back in San Francisco, which stocks the Lafuma chairs in taut condition as I need them for my back and worked on getting me some from another location, as I need several.

My visit to the “Relax the Back” store gave me a back-ache! On a Wednesday afternoon at 3pm the store was locked tight. A sign scribbled in pen says: “store closed today due to lack of staff.” Imagine…circling in San Francisco for parking for 30 minutes…then finding a parking place! Then paying $$$ into the meter for an hour parking. Then walking 3 blocks to discover Relax the Back’s darkened doors. Warning: be sure to call ahead of your visit to avoid such a vexing, unrelaxing Relax the Back moment.

John Berry was very helpful to me on 2 occasions. He explained some things that you don’t necessarily read online.
Unfortunately he didn’t have the 8.0 chair on the floor, That aside I purchased the chair without sitting in one. Give him a thumbs up ??

I have strong feelings about even if you want to try every zero gravity chair in the store they would still be pretty kind,How do I know?Don’t ask.-I would name the place 'happy lumbar' though

The folks at Relax the Back on Van Ness/SF are AMAZING - I bought an X-Chair from them in May 2023 (which I LOVE), and a few months later the vibrating heater stopped working. I called the store to ask what I should do (there's a 3-year warranty on the X-Chairs), and one of the managers, Pam, told me they had a replacement at the store for this, and I could just come by and pick it up. I told her I would need to make arrangements and get back to them, as I live in Novato (North Bay) which is about 30 miles away. Pam asked me which exit in Novato, and when I told her, she said she would come to my house and drop off the part and install the new one for me. I was flabbergasted! I don't remember the last time I got customer service like this! It turns out that Pam lives not too far from me, and she was happy to drop by on her way home from work and install the new part. She showed up right when she said she would, and it took about 3 minutes for her to change out the part. It works great! I would give this store 100 stars if I could, they are absolutely wonderful and their products are top of the line.

AMAZING! The quality of products is extremely high, but what really sets RTB apart is its customer service. We were lucky to have Aaron Resnik help us pick out two office chairs we absolutely love, and have been blown away with his help and support in all things related to the chair - delivery/showing us how to use/all and any questions. HIGHLY recommend this shop.

This is a great store-the staff (John the manager, and Pam the owner) were so knowledgeable about their great inventory of therapeutic chairs, and so responsive to any concerns I had. John personally came to my office, no charge, to show me how to adjust my chair. There is real investment in helping customers, definitely a great brick and mortar experience!

Love the chair. Recently had back surgery - sitting in this chair is the equivalent of a couple of pain pills. Worth the investment. I will be enjoying it for years.

I purchased a Lifeform Executive Highback Office Chair here, and it was a great experience. The owner was very patient, and walked me through all of the chairs features and the different model types. I received the chair about a week or so after ordering, and it is absolutely amazing. I will be coming back if I have any other ergonomic furniture needs in the future.
