If I could rate this experience any less I would. Step into Rex Auto Service being forewarned! Prepare for the worst. The most unprofessional shop I have ever encountered in my 50 years! Simply walk in and look at the disorganization and sad conditions of the place. I truly feel sorry for the sole overworked mechanic that works there (look at the low lighting conditions).
I dropped off my car early hoping to hear a diagnosis by end of day; heard nothing. Phone calls go unanswered. I visit the shop on day 2 and hear what they are planning to do. Unable to contact them once again, I visited the shop again on day 4 and was told that they need more time after changing 2 spark plugs and 2 coils (a one hour job). Day 7! Phone calls were useless. I visited Rex Auto Repair once again only to be told the EXACT same thing I was told 3 days prior. Evidently no work was done on it for the past 3 days with no reason and no apologies other than “we’ve been busy”. I decided to just give up on Rex Auto and would suggest anyone reading this would do themselves a favor by doing the same. There is no way they can stay in business like this for much longer. They used to be good until change of management.
I brought in an '07 Murano because loss of power.m and knocking noise on acceleration. They said there was no knocking noise and it needed new valve cover gasket. I approved the work but when I asked to see the old gasket I was shown one that was in fairly good condition, not bittle or cracked, but cut completely in half. As I left and drove the knocking noise was still there and the car died a few months later due to the cats being clogged (loss of acceleration). They misdiagnosed it or most likely didn't even do an actual diagnosis and did work that it didn't need then overcharged me for it! Beware.

I appreciate the service I got at Rex auto repair. My car had problem with the engine ignition. I gave Rex auto a call and told Jacky my car problem. I brought the car in the same day and Jacky looked through the car, explained what he thought the problem was and why. The repair was quick and the price was transparent. I’ll definitely be back for my car maintenance needs.

They have been my mechanic for years, and they worked on all my cars, from the most minor items like an oil change to bigger things like a brake job. Recently, I had an issue with my Mercedes in which the ESL (electronic steering lock) went out. I had my car towed here, and they worked on fixing it. As people know, once that piece goes out, it is a pain. For the value and time of this job, it was far better than the dealership. I would highly recommend them.

Fair price on a nice new set of brakes and rotors that are coated specifically to prevent corrosion from the salty air in the outer sunset of San Francisco. Also got an oil change and replaced a few lights they noticed were out. Quick turnaround and great customer service. Will continue taking our Jeep to Rex’s.

Took in my car for a check engine light issue. Over the phone they quoted me a hundred dollars to fix the knock sensor which is what they think was causing it but they weren’t sure. I responded with “Wow only a hundred? Ok perfect let’s try it!”. They had my car done quickly and when I can to pick it up I found out it wasn’t a hundred dollars, but eight hundred dollars. I left almost in tears. Lesson learned. Always get a paper quote. Now, almost a thousand dollars poorer, my check engine light is BACK on and I will not be returning to Rex’s.

Was running errands with my toddler today and my TPMS light came on. Come to find out I had a nail in my tire. Took my car to Rex Auto Services and they had the tire patched in less than 30 minutes!! Thanks guys!!

This shop is amazing. I brought my car in at the last minute for a flat tire, tire repair, and general checkup. They were friendly, quick and very affordable. They are knowledgeable and honest. Definitely using them as my go-to mechanic going forward. The tire they repaired for about $30 lasted me on a road trip from SF to Minneapolis and back and it’s still going strong. So glad I found them.
