Limited aerobic equipment (bikes mainly) but it’s a well run neighborhood gym with helpful staff and A+ service.

Kudos to our teachers, Lisa Hawley Largent, Megan O'Donnell, Sally Sexton and Theresa Marks. All have the same thing in common. Teaching students more than just Strength, Tai Chi/Qigong and Yoga. Many of the students love their classes and feel so good and balanced after we are done! Thank you!

Good place to go away from home. Welcoming community, clean, and courteous. Has services that one would need for exercise, filtered water, wifi, and staff that keep the place tidy, orderly while making time to make guests feel welcome. They make the effort to grant access to those that have served their country.

I am a life long Y member. This is not my home gym but I use it when in SF. It is a small facility but has everything you need. The staff are great, the facility very clean.

YMCA at this location is great! Great community and with amazing staff who will answer all your questions if needed. They have different space for your gym workout need! They also have many different class that you can attend as well!

YMCA is going from 5 to 1 star in my book! This is not about the specific location, but it's to everyone who's making current YMCA rules! The part of my membership fee was the tiny bonus of bringing a guest ( 3 times a year or something? ) Now that finally the gym is open, they won't let me invite a guest. Not even pay per day For a company who's desperately looking for members (yes, the employees at the desk encourage every customer to invite family and friends to join) this is a FAIL, big time. They've increased the membership fee, removed a lot of equipments, cut some days of the week, shortened the open hours per day, and won't let you bring a guest. As someone who's been a member for years and has done donations, I'm deeply disappointed. Good job ruining my favorite gym Time to look into other gyms.

Closed Saturday and Sunday because who ever heard of people wanting to work out on a weekend, or so they think?!? Closed evenings, because no one wants to work out after a long, stressful day at work, right? Closed Monday 12/26 - January 2 because apparently I'm the only one who goes to the gym when there are fewer work demands. I guess I can take a bus to one of the other gyms instead of walking to the neighborhood Y that I joined. Yeah, that's convenient.

I've been working out here for awhile now and I thought I should write a review on this awesome place. The place is always clean and the weights are always put back. The staff is very helpful and even though I haven't taken a class I've always heard good things.

Richmond District YMCA is offering Virtual Wellness classes during facility closures due to COVID-19 Coronavirus. Visit their website for current classes. Amazing work from their staff & management team!

It's a great YMCA. Very nice staff, I've been going here for the last two years now, it's incredibly comfortable. Not soo many amenities, sure, but it's a great walking distance option. Thanks for creating a community YMCA team!

Why close early on a non-universal holiday - only schools and banks close everyone else has to work - I just walked 14 blocks to see this - very disappointed - why discriminate against those that still need a PM option to exercise? What's the point of opening and then closing at 3? Lame

Though this YMCA is limited on space, the classes, sauna, and towel service make up for the tight space. During peak hours, you have to sign up for the cardio machines and the weight room is usually packed. However, I sometimes take the weights up to the rooftop, which is empty when there are no classes up there. Alternatively, I can usually find a spot in one of the studios to do my own workout. There are kettlebells, jump ropes, weighted balls, TRX bands, and d*** bells for those who want to create their own workouts. The free towel service (which is not available at all YMCAs in SF) is great! Makes it easier to shower at the YMCA before I head to work. The women's locker room also has 4 hair dryers for those who would like to dry their hair before heading out.
