Love this Safeway! They have everything I want in stock all the time and the people who work here are kind and helpful. I love coming in here and seeing all the longtime employees being so happy about their job.

The Thanksgiving Prime Rib Family Meal for $99 was not worth it. The prime rib was packaged 8 months ago - see photo. It had a weird pungent after taste and a mushy texture. We threw the prime rib away after trying a few pieces. The whole family was very disappointed. I hope no other family had their Thanksgiving dinner ruined because safeway gave 8 month old prime rib.

My complaint is about the butcher... I asked for a 3 lb. tri-tip, fatcap trimmed off lean. The butcher argued with me and refused to cut a lean cut of meat for me. There is so much fat on the underside of their cuts of meat that the butcher might as well just be keeping his fingers on the scale. Does the butcher not know why he is there? Does he even serve a purpose at this Safeway location? All the meat could come from pre-packaged from a factory and the customers at Safeway would never know the difference based on the level of customer service we get from the butcher. Useless and crooked. I recommend finding a local butcher nearby and skip Safeway for nice cuts of meat.

Just a really poor experience. Walked in to security guards yelling obscenities at someone, grabbed a basket and started down the aisles. Store was dirty, prices are awful (and since you have to sign up for two separate services which gather your data to get sale prices, they really shouldn't be), lots of expired product on the shelves, and employees downright refused assistance. As I left, security was cursing at someone else. If you can get groceries absolutely anywhere else, it'll most likely be a better and cheaper time.

I lived near by for 8 months and came to visit this last week and this place needs new management because it has gotten worse. Aside from the myriad of homeless that live in front and cause violent outbursts and theft Every Single morning at 6-6:15am when I'm there, there are many staff working, but not really available to help. The response is I'll get some one else to help you while I sit here talking to my friend. Everything is locked up per SF, however prepare to wait 5-10+ mins per item. It makes me wonder if they really sell more than is stolen. I usually come in for the Starbucks, but the line is always long (the security guards and employees usually) and slow. Prepare to wait long waits, there is no sense of urgency here.

Do Not Shop at This Store.MY RATING IS ZERO.friday 8/18/23 afternoon- 2 friday-looked for friday-only sale items- shelf empty way half way through the store day. no stock on shelf or in backstock. unacceptable.another item on my list- a brand of cookie on sale with coupon -item not carried. fraud.at customer"service" counter-debbie or dawn said they no longer issue rainchecks. why would i want to shop at a store that advertises certain prices to get me into the store and then doesn't have it in stock or do not even carry it?? that is fraud to me if they do not issue raincheck on sale items, District Attorney. the sale is only ONE day and that huge store cannot have enough instock for customers? fraud.the counter person continued with her unservice - "this (running out of items) happens all the time"- that is an excuse? "we don't have enough space" - hello the shelf is empty! and her final remark "there is always whole foods".as i exited the self-check area- there was a line to exit because someone did not have their receipt to scan to exit the selfcheck spot- 6' males who wear tactical gear and have no place in a grocery store approached the customer. for years this location allowed shoplifters to run rampant- the "security" were too busy looking at their phones- safeway's solution? - have armed tactical gear who look like there are protecting the president welcome customers. outrageous.this is not a place i will be a customer.avoid this store at all costs.

This store is steadily improving. Lots of guards, feels safer, gated entry. There are plenty of items here that you can get no where else, just because of its pure size. I for one, want to see this Safeway survive. Otherwise, the only large grocery stores left in the area are high end ones.... "Whole Paycheck" Bezo-ery, etc etc. We need this supermarket, just for the volume of people it caters to. The Safeway corporation however needs to get its act together as far as the product goes.... what the heck? I just skip the produce these days, until I can buy fresh apples again.

It’s been my store for nearly 30 years, and generally they manage through very challenging circumstances pretty well Including the pandemic and an onslaught of zombies and street denizens. I’m a little surprised *anyone* goes there anymore when they have a team who will pick your order for you that you can schedule a pick up (I think to you car trunk) or even home delivery My understanding is that eliminating the self-checkouts was ultimately the best way to stop runaway rates of “shrinkage”/shoplifting - I hope it works as they’ve been a great resource for so many years

I have been going to this Safeway for the last forty years and went into the store about a month ago when an employee started yelling at me for breaking open a three pack of beer. The manager "Peter" at the time told me to go ahead, since the same beer is cheaper if you buy it in singles.I recently went into the store and seen the new manager talking to the person that had a problem with me cutting open the three pack of beer. While I was four isles away, I showed the manager how I had to cut open the three pack while using my pen knife that my father gave me when I was a kid. I will be sixty-four this year. She told me since I had a knife, I would have to leave. I asked her if I was being eighty-sixed for good, and she said no, so I left. I went back the next day, and a security told me since I pulled a knife on the manager, I was not allowed to shop there any longer. I have never in my life shown a weapon to anyone in anger.

This Safeway has to be the worst ever. It's truly a nightmare experience. I've never felt more impatient with a staff before. It's a busy store so I can understand having to wait but the whole operation is unorganized and leaves you frustrated. Some isles that's are locked up have no call button to get the item that's locked. I got in line, happen to be the liquor isle, I press the call bell to grab a bottle. The staff member came over got the bottle and tells me to line up at register 1. I get out of the line I was already waiting in to get at the back of the line at 1. When I get to the front I realize it's the 15 items or less and I had way more than 15. The cashier so rudely tells me to get out line, I tried to explain the guy told me to line up, she wasn't having it and told me to get out of line. I lined up for the third freaking time honestly I wanted to leave my grocery cart at this point and come back. I waited 25 minutes in the final line before I get to the front. By this time I'm annoyed and want to go. I tell the cashier I have a bottle of Tito's at the register. He made it such a process to check my ID ( I'm over 30) he looked at it as if it was fake swiped it entered the numbers and finally gave it back. Everyone I encountered was unpleasant. I have a vendetta against this place now will never be back.

Despite the lovely eccentric Castro personalities you'll see when shopping here, this place has gone downhill. The pharmacy will randomly hold medications hostage, interrogate you about them, and do not understand how to talk into a phone without breathing heavily into your soul. I'm not sure who hurt them, but they are the worst. Lately nothing is ever filled on time, and they need about a 1-2 day turnaround - if they are that busy you'd think they'd hire more staff. I assume the few left are just grouchy due to being burnt out from being understaffed? The hours for Safeway keep getting walked back with flimsy excuses. The parking lot is truly a dystopian nightmare. The store is poorly maintained and falling apart. If this community didn't actually need this store I would pray it just burned to the ground, but alas we do. Dumpsterfire doesn't begin to describe the descent this place has taken.

everytime i go here i seem to have an unpleasant experience, i get that the job isn't easy, but im not there making it harder. The self checkout shorted me $20 tonight, but the real gut punch was just how management handled it. never acknowledged me as a human being, said he looked at the cameras, i didn't have the $20, and nothing. For all i know , he went into the backroom and took a s**** ruined my day and ill be shopping at whole foods across the street from here on out.
