The wait line for cashiers is always so long and inefficient. Products are good inside the store but I have to be aware that it will take more time to pay than to look around the aisles.

I’m usually very happy shopping at this location, but I had a disappointing experience today.
During checkout with cashier Alonzo, I didn’t hear his question about paper or plastic bags, so I showed him my phone thinking he needed to scan the QR code. His response felt dismissive — he shrugged and looked annoyed.
When I apologized and said “plastic,” he roughly threw my soda box onto the conveyor belt, which honestly startled me.
As someone who also works for Safeway (store #3231 in Oakland), I understand how important good customer service is. Unfortunately, this interaction didn’t reflect the values we strive to uphold.

Best Safeway in sf. Plenty of parking easy to get to with lots of other shops and pet friendly with the spca just down the street or car stuff at orileys around the corner.

I've come to this safeway multiple times after 11pm and despite the official website and google saying the hours are open til midnight every day, the store has been closed every time. The business has allegedly confirmed these hours but they're clearly a lie.

Complaint About Restroom Access
Safeway Management,
I was denied access to the restroom at your store causing significant inconvenience. Please reconsider this policy to improve customer experience. Why is it not possible to use restoom ? Is it collecting the people or customers ? Where is the human being’s right?

Thumbs down cashier Dominic. (?) Someone needs to check on if he's OK. & train him on customer service & cashiering. Apologies for is he's having a bad day yet not acceptable. Doesn't give him right to bring my experience down. Safeway, check on your cashiers. They're not ok.

This Safeway location is a larger store with a wide variety of products. However, it is important to note that the hours of operation listed on Google Maps are incorrect as of the date of this review. I arrived at 11:05 p.m. to find the doors already locked, which unfortunately prevented me from completing my grocery shopping that evening.
