This isn't the worst Safeway I've been to, but it's petty bad. But all Safeways are terrible these days. Did Private Equity get to them?
Bland produce. High prices with a depressing interior. Self care products locked away but it takes minutes to get help. Not enough cashiers running, they clearly want you to use self checkout.
The front parking lot is a mess and lawless. Unless you have an EV, handicap placard, or are doing Internet order pickup, park on the roof. People park in the Internet pickup and go inside to shop. People park in the fire lane. The management doesn't seem to care.
Terrible bike racks too.
If you can, go anywhere else and you'll have a better experience.
I can't tell if Safeway hates food or their customers more.

Arrived at the service counter at 7:52pm (hours are 8am-8pm) and patiently waited for 15 minutes as the person helped other guests.
When it was my turn, she stated that it was after 8pm and the counter was closed. I let her know that I was in fact in line before 8pm (check videos 06/23/25) and was told systems are closed at 8pm. I knew this to not be true because have been helped past 8pm before (due to a line) and also the person in front of me was helped after 8pm too.
Add insult to injury, when I got in line, the lady was no where to been seen for 5 or so minutes while people lined up for the counter. I understand it can be busy but if you're going to turn away someone in line well before the closing time make sure you're at the counter helping these customers.
For someone that needs to make arrangements just to be able to make it to the service counter before the 8pm closing, it's outrageous to be turned away because the employee and/or the people in front of you needed extra time. I thought it was common practice, if you are in line before 8pm you will get helped but not at this Safeway.

Always out of every single beef and fish product. There’s never anyone at the seafood counters, waited 15 minutes, left the store in anger.

I used to visited this place always, because is the nearest from my house but I had a few bad experiences. With the employees. Last was this morning, I can but a tissue paper and food from the deli. The I paid for it in the register. With my card ? . When I took the elevator the security guy followed me took me my stuff back. And I showed him the receipt. And home still took my stuff back then I went to customer service and ask for my money back.

The ELEVATORS have not been working for MONTHS!!
THE parking is on level 2 and you have to carry your bags up a very long set of upright stairs. I now do my major shopping ( over 200$) at another store, they have lost a lot of $$$$$$$$$!!!!!!!
