Sherri and Brad are outstanding! I first went there to have my 13 year old Miele vacuum fixed. Brad not only got it back in working but it looked almost new when I picked it up. Then he serviced my Babylock sewing machine, gave me invaluable advice on threads and helped me with free motion quilting. Sherri got me up to speed on my sewing machine and all its ins and outs. They re my go to people.

AMAZING sewing machine repair shop. I needed a part that I couldn’t find anywhere for an old antique singer sewing machine and this shop had it.

The best ever! Sherri and Brad are honest, hard working and very professional. Brad knows how to repair machines. He is always taking classes to upgrade his skills. In the past I had repair shops ruin my machines. Sergealot you can trust. Sherri is incredible knowledge of all the machines. If you would like to advance your skills on sergers or machines, take her class and take plenty of notes. She is a true educator and knowledge in her field. Support this family and support small business. A unique business and shop for machines, vacuums, vacuum repair, notions and fabric.

This review is long overdue, because I first went here 5 years ago (and I no longer live in SF currently). I was getting into sewing at the time, and was trying to figure out my mom's old sewing machine. With the help of the family at Serge A Lot, I was recommended to buy an entry level Baby Lock sewing machine that was not too expensive (a little over $100 I believe) and they were able to recycle my mom's old machine (which I found out to be a terrible model). They also gave me a complimentary sewing lesson. Five years later, that little machine is going strong and I'm super thankful for the advice of the team here! I'm super glad this little business still exists!

The prices were reasonable, and I enjoyed browsing through the various sewing supplies. Sadly their shop had a limited selection of fabrics and accessories, making it difficult to find what I needed. I was not satisfied with the selection at this sewing shop.

Very happy with the service! I had my miele vacuum repaired here. Love that this is a family-owned business as well. They were quick, and knowledgeable!

if you live in the SF bay - this is the sewing store you dream about. I purchased my babylock destiny 2 and triumph from Sherri. I purchased my daughters machine from her as well. I will purchase all my machines from her because she does the impossible. she gives one on one customer service and great advice. just today she explained over the phone why I was struggling with some pre programmed stitches. it was a simple fix (I had turned on width control) and now my machine works as new. sewing is my stress relief, and Sherri makes sewing even more enjoyable. seriously, what ever you need from the sewing world - Sherri is who you call. her husband and daughter are also awesome.

This place is the BEST place to purchase a sewing machine. Sherry and Brad take such wonderful care of my sewing machines and even helped me buy a machine that let me grow into it. I even brought in my vaccuum and had them fix it. I love my sewing machines-a Babylock, an older Janome, and an antique Singer Featherweight and I would only bring them to Sherry and Brad.

I had my mother's 1970's Bernina, the model is considered to be a little work horse. I wanted to sell it and Sherry took care of the sale and gave me a generous percentage! It sold to one of her good customers a few months later. We were all happy! Thank you Sherry !

This place was excellent. They fixed my sewing machine and gave it a whole new motor. They were extremely helpful and took the time to figure out exactly what it needed to get back and running again. They are a really friendly and reliable family business and made me feel right at home, and confident that my problem would be resolved by knowledgeable pros. They also taught me tricks to keep it in good working shape, like how to oil the bobbin regularly. I would highly recommend going to Serge a Lot if you have any sewing machine troubles or even just need regular maintenance on your machine.

A spectacular find for a person in need of sewing machine repair! I had never had my old Singer machine maintained or overhauled, and after years of use, it had broken parts, started making funny noises and was beyond time to be repaired. I found Serge A Lot through Yelp and due to high ratings, decided to give it a try. Sherri was friendly, knowledgeable and professional as we set up a time for me to bring the machine into the San Francisco location that same day. Her husband Brad greeted me with a friendly, professional customer service attitude. He said he could have the machine fixed up in a week, and I was pleasantly surprised when, less than a week later, it was ready! The sewing machine runs smoothly, as if it were brand new! Thank you Serge A Lot! I'll be back for routine maintenance. Exceptional, friendly, professional, customer-oriented service.

Snagged a great deal on a used Baby Lock!I honestly can't remember why I thought to check out Serge A Lot. I generally think about boutique businesses as being expensive for purchasing appliances, but after stumbling upon them, I couldn't be happier that I did.I was just looking for a standard sewing machine--nothing fancy, and was considering a "heavy duty Singer" at Joann fabrics. The model didn't seem all that "heavy duty," and I just felt like I should look around. I heard good things about Baby Lock though it's a new brand to me.I stopped by Serge A Lot to check out a basic Baby Lock model, and the young woman pointed out she had a consignment for a nice, used, higher grade unit. I'm never one to shy away from gently-used, so I pounced and am thrilled. Not only did I get a deal, but I felt happy that I could support a local business, and one who seems to really care about their community.I don't sew much, but when I do, I'll rely on Serge A Lot. They also seem to self-service the machines which is great when it's time for me to do that. As I recall they also have thread and some notions in addition to classes.Proud to support my Ingleside neighbors!
