The SFFCU on California is wonderful. They’re fast, kind, helpful and flexible. Whether I need financial advice, to have something notarized, or just to get quarters they can make it happen. I’d highly recommend this branch!

The best place ever to have a checking and savings account personalized service and they'll actually call you and tell you if you have an outstanding check

I'm very disappointed with SFFCU customer service. Two faced. Before and after.Right after they set me up for an auto-deposit checking account, they started ignoring me. They never responded to me to follow through their advertised/promised interest rate.Thank goodness I haven't started auto-depositing my money, yet.I had wanted to give SFFCU a chance, as it's supposedly a heartwarming small community bank. But it turned out to be even worse than my big impersonal bank!I regretted even spending $5 membership fee and wasting several hours of my precious time going through the complicated procedures to open a brand new account.SFFCU is no good.

People rarely visit the insides of their bank or credit union anymore. Wait times rarely exceed 5 minutes to find a free teller. Safer than pulling cash out of an ATM during g business hours.

After getting money from the ATM, the tellers wouldn't break it into smaller bills for me-- all I asked was to break it into smaller bills. Don't ask for any services if you are a member with another credit union, they won't care.

ATM ate $100 bill and the bank employees had no recourse other than to tell me to call my bank. Unacceptable.

SF Fire Credit Union never lets me down. They always have excellent customer service, they are attentive and available to answer my questions. I used to bank at the larger corporate banks, I'll never go back!! Pre-COVID they used to have fresh baked cookies on Tuesday, wish they would bring them back. But I'm sure that it's some sort of health and safety thing! Cause ya know germs

Full of incompetent people/management. I Mail out my mortgage payment on the second of the month every month from my Online Bill account. For some reason, it takes SF FIRE CU many weeks to process my payment so I get phone calls from their debt collector saying I haven't paid. Then I end up making double payments. Ridiculous!

I love SFFCU! It's a beautiful diamond in the rough, which I didn't know about until I started working here. Best products, rates and SERVICE ever and I had no idea I didn't need to be associated with a fire fighter. SFFCU rebates ATM fees, has no fee checking and some of the best rates in the Bay Area.

Bought my first car and was paying my auto loan for months, thinking that my car registration hadn't arrived yet because the DMV was taking forever but turns out that SF Fire never processed my registration like they were supposed to.And now I'm having problems using Zelle all of a sudden even though I've used it for the last few years.Being able to use any atm anywhere is convenient because I rarely go into a branch, but I've had other issues on top of the ones above that make me pretty upset. I wanted to stay away from corporate banks, but the service from SF Fire is making me consider going back.

Where banks make you pay for monthly statement fees (which should have simply been their costs of doing business...as why should the customer trust or solely rely on "electronic numbers") and assess a monthly minimum charge, SFFCU does not. This speaks volume in the world of banking where many dwindles you down to a number. I was also pleasantly greeted by its security guard and tellers today even when I was not standing in line as a customer. Not only does the California street branch provide free parking and free Coin-Star station for converting your coins into cash without fees like Safeway, as well a hot/cold water dispenser station maneuverable by foot pedals. Aside from the myriad of amenities it tries to offer the customers, the most important of all is the knowledge your money is provided with an extra insurance beyond the $250K offered by most banks via FDIC and credit unions via NCUA, shared by a very bright and thoroughly knowledgeable teller named Milisha.

It feels weird to geek out on a credit union, but here goes. San Francisco Fire Credit Union is the BEST bank I have ever been a member of. I've been a member for about a decade now, even after moving to Oregon 7 years ago. Recently they helped me out in a major pinch during my first home buying process. Member for life. Thank you guys!

I have been banking with SFFCU for six years, and since the very first week I have been disappointed with their "customer support". Questions are rarely answered fully, and it always takes multiple weeks to resolve any issues. Any concerns I have require dozens of messages before receiving the support needed. I honestly don't see the difference between this credit union and the soulless, profit driven big banks I wanted to sever ties with. Now that I live abroad, resolving any issues with SFFCU is an absolute nightmare. Do not recommend.
