SmartyPup! is the greatest place for puppies in the Bay Area. We've sent two puppies through the Puppy Play School, and I can't say enough nice things about how amazing the experience has been. The first dog we sent through the program turned out to be the best dog we have ever known, and now our second puppy is showing signs that he'll turn out the same. We're now at the end of our play school session, and I'd almost consider getting another puppy just so that we could just keep going to Smarty Pup! It's just that good. Enzo has learned good manners with us, other people, and all sorts of dogs. Now that he has had all of his vaccinations, when we take him for walks in the city and around the Bay Area, he's calm and receptive in all situations, and everyone remarks on what an excellent disposition he has. I know every dog has their own disposition, but we credit a lot of what a great dog Enzo is becoming to SmartyPup! If you want a really amazing experience and you're willing to invest in the best friend you'll ever have, bring your dog to SmartyPup!

Wow where do I begin with this review! My fiance and I rescued our puppy Josie at 8 weeks old and we were in over our heads with how much work a puppy that age entails. We were STRUGGLING the first 2 weeks with lack of sleep; I think I cried every other day. A colleague suggested Smartypup and we immediately enrolled her in the day school. SMARTYPUP SAVED US! Not only did Josie get extensive socialization during her critical puppy phase but we also learned so much about puppy behavior and how to communicate with her and to reset our expectations and be patient with consistent training and goal setting. The first day of school, Josie was so scared and timid, frantically jumping at my fiance to be held by him. By the end of the day, she opened up and played with the other pups.The SmartyPup trainers are always so patient with us and our never-ending questions and always providing consistent reassurance before and after day school! The whole team is AWESOME; special shout out to Fawn, Tyler, Lisa, Mario, Kelly, Jenni, and Rana! You can tell they really care about the puppies.Josie has completed 4 weeks of day school as well as Puppy 1 Saturday classes and it has been so fun to watch her confidence grow. She has also attended a handful of puppy socials. Our new favorite Saturday ritual is going to get coffee before puppy class followed by a social after then getting brunch. We just enrolled in Puppy 2 and can’t wait to start it. We’ll be taking as many courses with Smartypup as possible.Although there are still a few challenges to work on, Josie has made MAJOR growth and we feel so much more equipped to help her through them. Thank you Smartypup for building confidence not only in our Josie girl but also in US!!

SmartyPup! Was awesome. I've only been to their small dog socials, and both me and my pup have loved them. Fawn and team have been knowledgeable, supportive, and generally fantastic.

We adopted an 8 week old puppy, and I had forgotten just how much work puppies are with chewing, toilet training, and getting into trouble if not exercised and properly supervised. I quickly realized that we were in over our heads and needed a lot of help.I asked several dog trainers I know in SF and they all said to call SmartyPup SF. The school uses only positive reinforcement training and specializes in puppy socialization. It's a combination of Day care and Day Training. The trainers were brilliant. We could see the difference in her confidence right away. She began giving auto sits, going to her mat, and seemed more relaxed. Her play skills developed quickly. She graduated a couple of weeks ago now she’s in adult daycare with a wide variety of adult dogs. That daycare tells me that they can see how well developed her play style and confidence is for a dog her age.She was exposed to many different people, objects, sounds, situations and now has the curiosity to explore and try new things, without being held back by fear. She even had the courage to ride a skateboard ! What a transformation. SmartyPup gave her a head start in life that she wouldn’t otherwise have. I’m grateful that we found them.The owner, Fawn, was also very helpful with food and treat advice. If you’re looking to give your puppy the best foundation possible to work from, this is the place. Definitely paws up and 5 stars !

Wonderful people who are great with dogs of all ages and sizes. Nice training style, reward system... have gone to socials and plan to register for the next training class.

We've taken our puppy to two puppy socials here. They do a great job. The guy who runs them definitely knows his stuff. The dogs have two different areas - the small, shy and very young dogs on one side, and the bigger and older pups on the other side. It's up to the owners to figure that out. Goes pretty well. We can't wait to take our 13 week old back there again. One thing to know - the class is not too short at all. We worried it would be, but even our energetic Aussie is pretty darned tuckered out by the end. He's till playing at the end, but slowly and with tongue hanging out. And he sleeps deeply on the way home, the instant he gets into the car. Tip - bring your own water and water bowl as they don't put out water for the dogs (in order to help keep the pups healthy).

Terrible customer service as it's very difficult getting ahold of staff. Paid $150 for a day of puppy school. Via web cam, we watched our puppy run around with out any significant attention from the "trainer". They're basically just fed treats all day with a ratio of 1 trainer per 10+ puppies. Not worth $150+ in my opinion.

We took Mochi who is a Havanese to SmartyPup because my cousin highly recommended them. My cousin took her small breed dog to Smarty Pup for their Puppy 1, Puppy 2 and a class to learn tricks. We took Mochi to Puppy 1 and Puppy 2. Fawn and her assistants are amazing. Exceptional and so informative on all breeds. Learned so much in these classes. We now take Mochi to their Small Dog Socials. Socializing for all dogs is so important. And the humans get to socialize as well. Pups have so much fun. Smarty Pup is SO very clean. It never smells bad inside. And it doesn't smell like bleach. Just clean. They're always right on it when a dog has an accident. Fawn and her assistants are always willing to answer questions and help you with your pup. Highly recommend Smarty Pup.

Smarty Pup was super fun, we bring Maggie our Cavapoo-poo for puppy socials. She’s is getting more social and learning to be with other dogs.
