Cannot recommend Days enough! She was incredibly attentive and skilled with my digital perm and haircut. I really appreciated that she took the time to listen to my requests, check on me regularly to make sure I was comfortable with the changes, and offered her own suggestions as well. Left super happy with my new perm as it was just what I had envisioned! I was in California for a short visit, but would definitely come back again for a cut.

Awesome first experience for me and the wife as we haven't had a professional do our hair ever since S. I. P.We worked with Days( pronounced Daisy) for both our cuts.Please call then to make an appointment. They fill up fast!We loved our cuts as they were new and fresh! Well timed and not too long. Great conversations were had while she cut our hair. Customer satisfaction is great!Thank you Days!

Yesterday I went Star East salon the first time and Days my stylist gave me cut and color beyond my expectations. I had longhair for the last twenty years and wanted a change and she gave me a fantastic short cut looks. Everyone loves my look's too.

Days has been cutting my hair for more than a decade and I don't plan to stop coming to her. I've driven from Santa Rosa and now East Bay to come see her every 8-10 weeks. She is truly a master of her craft! She is also adaptable, and when I asked for a Mohawk for a thing my friends and I were doing for an event she came through and I got constant compliments that whole weekend!!

Fourteen. That's the number of years that I have been coming to see Joe. He's still the best at what he does. Shamelessly, I only get my hair done once a year. I get a cut and digital perm from Joe and have been doing so for the last 14 years. My conversation with Joe today, he said that other clients do the same thing and praise him for his digital perm skills. However, they miss one point. He's really good at cutting hair, which is why the perm still looks good a year later! Honestly, he does an amazing job. Joe gets booked super quickly and he did mention he wasn't taking any new clients since he's booked on weekends until next year. But, I'd still call anyway to try and get an appointment.

Had a great experience with my digital perm yesterday - my previous perm here was in 2019 before the pandemic, and Vivian had done a fantastic job. I called to make an appointment since I was going to be back in town, and was pleasantly surprised that they still had my record of my perm details! Vivian is no longer with Star East, but Days took great care of me. She asked for photos of my hair before booking to make sure that my hair would be healthy enough for the perm, asked for a photo of what I was envisioning, and took a detailed history of my last color and perm. I got a text from Days a couple of days prior to the appointment with instructions and reminders. On my arrival, she was so warm and welcoming, and took time to explain her thought process and plan for my haircut prior to the perm, checking with me throughout to make sure I was ok with taking off some length. One thing I loved that many other stylists don't do, was that she asked what I liked and didn't like about previous perms. The perm itself came out excellent, and Days gave me a ton of great tips for styling and caring for my perm. The time passed by quickly. You'll definitely be well cared for here!

I got a digital perm here a few years ago. I was concerned that it would not take on my fine hair, but after sending pictures to the main stylist and receiving assurances from him, I decided to go for it. The process was quick and the service was friendly, but the perm didn't hold more than two days. It was a few hundred dollars wasted for me. I would not go here for a perm if you have fine hair. Other perms I've gotten have been able to deal with my hair type by doing a full denaturing step before the digital perm, but this salon does not do that.

Lemme keep this short for you: there is literally no other reason to keep looking around for a new salon or stylist. JOE is the real deal - all around so knowledgeable, amazing communication, and very kind and considerate. He's been doing my digital perms, haircuts, and highlights (no bleach) for almost 3 years now. The City's lucky to have him! Although word on the street is he's so popular, you may not even be able to book him anymore. Good luck!

Haven't had a haircut in two year due to the pandemic and cross-state moves. The trip to Star East was well worth so I can shed some weight off my head. I initially wanted to come in for a digital perm but after Joe heard that I got a bleach just last year, he patiently took the time and explained to me over the phone that additional perming will be very damaging to the hair. I really appreciated his honesty and agreed to just come in for a haircut. My haircut was done my Days, who was super sweet and attentive to details. She really took the time to understand my stylistic needs and the condition of my rather thick and slightly frizzy hair. When trimming of the length, she constantly checked with me at the beginning to make sure we're not cutting off more than I'd like, which was very assuring. The end result was fantastic and I'm loving the soft touch of my much lighter hair. Days also took additional time to help curl my hair and showed me the techniques. Highly recommend this salon if you'd like a new look for the New Years. I can't wait for my highlights to grow out so that I can come back for a perm

I've had my hair chemically permed by Days 3x now and I could not recommend her more. She's always very professional, very knowledgeable, very welcoming & accommodating. I like my hair very wavy (& wild ) and I like it all the way up to roots, so I have always had a chemical perm here. I've also always had a hard time finding a place that knows how to perm my straight, thick hair. Days always has the best suggestions. So no matter where I move in the Bay Area, I will always come back to get my hair done by Days!
