Tank Hill is a popular spot on the way to Twin Peaks, offering beautiful views of the city and the Golden Gate Bridge, especially at sunset. It is a peaceful place away from crowds, perfect for a quick hike or relaxing while enjoying the scenery. The area is suitable for beginners since it involves a light hike. Currently, only the Belgrave entrance is open, with a short flight of stairs leading to the top; other entrances are closed for repairs. The vantage point is breezy and cool, making it a nice place to sit and take in the view. Though there are no restrooms, playgrounds, or grills, the site is dog-friendly and has a small picnic area with benches, ideal for a packed meal. It is a great place to enjoy nature, scenery, and a quiet atmosphere.
This is the city’s greatest gem. If you’re lucky, you might even catch the neighbourhood owls if you stay past sunset.
